There will be an update summarising all of my games up to the 45th game soon, the all important game which decides how my season ends tbh.

It won't be in as much detail as usual, I'll be putting in the results for each month and summarising my thoughts on the results in that month.

Updates will be back to normal after that though. ^^)

It's nice! - A good month for the Hornets, winning 3 in 5 and only losing once

Overall, I'm pleased. We did well to beat Ipswich although didn't play well vs Bristol City and deserved to lose. West Brom was a great performance by the lads and we deserved a point and maybe more after taking the lead, but a good result nevertheless. Also great to see us not becoming complacent against teams nearer the bottom of the table and we beat bottom club Doncaster with ease, and beat Crystal Palace who were 22nd quite comfortably.

So, a good month and hopefully we can keep it up.

End of month position - 5th

It's grrreat - Another good month for The Hornets

Another good month for us as we grabbed a point at home against the best team in the division; aka Newcastle, and also got a brilliant win away to Cardiff. A win against Notts forest was massive for us as we kept up our playoff bid against close rivals, and a 'routine' win as I like to call it against Sheffield Wednesday also helped the goal difference and certainly helped our confidence. Two losses all month but they were both against strong opposition and both away from home so not too bad. A good month though overall.

End of month position - 3rd

April

Blackpool 2-5 Watford
Burgess (46'), Campbell (84') - Graham (37'), (80'), Cowie (42'), Fahey (70'), Sturridge(87')

Watford 3-0 Scunthorpe
Cleverley (24'), Sturridge (41'), (45')

Q.P.R 1-6 Watford
Simpson (57') - Sturridge (7'), (59'), Cowie (26'), (31'), DeMerit (45+2'), Graham (81')

Special - Watford's recent form has catipulted them into an amazing position of 2nd

Quite unbelievable. At one point we were 14th in the league and praying for a slim chance of the playoffs, now with 1 crucial game remaining, we're joint 2nd with Middlesbrough and only 2nd on goal difference with a chance of Premier League football next year. It was an amazing month, we had won 4 games out of 4, and scored 15 goals in 4 games! The goalscoring tactics I had employed for the last month of the season to kill off teams more seemed to of worked nicely, we even smashed 6 past Q.P.R away from home and 5 away to Blackpool. The next game against 4th place Derby is going to be the biggest game of the season, I just hope I'm ready for it..

End of month position - 2nd

End of season update soon lads. :)

Come On Max!

Keep it up! ;)
Cheers mate. :)

I think the layout was a little bad for this update as it wasn't really planned but the way the final game could change the season made me want to leave it on a cliffhanger. ^^)

i like that Layout, Doing Paragraphs about every game takes up to much time i find, and it's easier to know the Full Time Result For Readers. The Lay Out was fine mate. :P

Watford promoted to the big time

Ecstastic - Watford manager Max King has pulled off something special at Watford

In under a year as manager, Max King has pulled Watford out from mid table insecurity, into the Premier League after it was confirmed they finished 2nd after beating Derby 2-0 at Vicarage Road. There was a lot of pressure on Watford, because anything but a win could mean they slipped out of 2nd, and finished 3rd with Middlesbrough on the same amount of points as Watford with one game remaining.

The first half of Watford's game was 0-0, with Derby having more of the ball, and Watford's youngsters such as Sturridge, Cleverley and even 30 year old left back Jure Travner looking extremely nervous. Jon Harley was brought on for Travner at half time, and there must of been some sort of inspirational team talk as just 5 minutes after half time Daniel Sturridge picked up the ball on the edge of the box and skinned 2 Derby players before smashing into the bottom right hand corner to give Watford a massive lead with Middlesbrough still drawing 0-0 vs Coventry. Then things went a bit sour, as McDonald had scored for Middlesbrough which meant if Derby equalised Watford would be finishing 3rd.

Come of the hour, come of the man. Daniel Sturridge once again weaving in and out of defenders got to the byline and pulled it back for top scorer Danny Graham to smash home into an empty net to grab his 21st goal of the season and give Watford breathing space which they really needed.

The 90 minutes were up, Middlesbrough were still 1-0 up and would need to score 6 more goals to leap frog Watford into 2nd, but it wasn't to be as the final whistle went at The Riverside Stadium and it was confirmed Watford had been promoted.

Nigel Clough said:
Well, that's why they are going up I suppose, they did really well in the second half and we just couldn't handle the Sturridge lad on loan from Chelsea and he ripped us apart so well done to them and good luck in the Premier League.

Max King said:
Speechless, I really don't know what to say.. In about last October we were about 12th? Now we're 2nd, it's an amazing turn around and I couldn't be more proud of the players, when we needed a goal or a last ditch tackle most in a game, it's always been there throughout the season, and I cannot wait for next season to see if we are good enough for the Premier league, and personally, I think we are.

Nice budget to keep you in the EPL next season Max. For a team in major financial trouble they packed out alot of funds.

Good luck for that dude going to be tough.
