Watford recorded a fantastic victory over newcastle in their play-off semi final, which gives them the opportunity to get back into the promised land and gain some finanical security.

steve howard had no trouble converting from the spot on 12 minutes after nikbakht had given away the penalty. an error from danny simpson then allowed man u loanee tom cleverley to score a curling shot from 20 yards just 5 mins later.

but then an error from scorer cleverley allowed nikbakht to pull one back on 19 mins with a header from 6 yrads. newcastle were nearly gifted a goal by full back lee hodson but newcastle failed to make it count.

But nearing the end of the game the ball fell to tom cleverley in the 87 minute to send watford to wembley by belting the ball past steve harper from 10 yards. this sent the watfords fans crazy. and there was a mass pictch invasion at the final whistle.
