We're the Millers - Rotherham United FC

******* fantastic! I've played Rotherham since 08 for some god forsaken reason, its good to see someone else playing them! Good work getting rid of Belaid, his aggression made him a card magnet. Great signings, your Egyptian looks quality. Good luck for promotion!
Cheers mate :)

You're right, Belaid was a liability

FESTIVE CHEER AS MILLERS SIT TOP OF THE TREE
View attachment 91536

Rotherham United fans are full of optimism once again as they're club sit at the top of the table going into 2019

The Millers, who've suffered playoff heartbreak the past two seasons, are now one of the favourites for promotion following a string of impressive results

The Millers opened the month with four straight wins, beating Derby 4-2, Swansea 2-1, title challengers QPR 1-0 and Aston Villa 2-1 in a game which saw George Evans sent off and goals from Tarek Alaa in the 89th and 91st minutes
View attachment 91535

Their progression hit a bump with a shock 2-0 defeat at Portman Road but the Millers recovered, beating Charlton 2-0 at The Valley before a late George Evans goal sunk Bristol City 2-1

Any chance you could upload this save somwehere? Quite keen on trying this myself :p

I'm away for a week so there won't be any updates until next Sunday/Monday at the earliest

I've not seen this kind of Brexti before....as it says "instead of the current work permit system" does that mean you don't need to get a work permit as long as you only have 17 players?
I haven't seen it before either, guess I'll find out soon enough :p

We fell apart at the end

A top 2 in 2019 of Rotherham United and Bristol City, wouldn't mind seeing the odds on that right now.

9th of June 2019Rotherham United are in the Premier League. Little old Rotherham, with a wage bill half the size of Rooney's bill for *ahem* personal services and a ground the size of a Tesco Metro have somehow made it to the Premier League and I'm partly responsible for it. Mental.

This is a very, very exciting time for the club, we'll be mixing it with the big guns this season, no more Wycombe away, Old Trafford and Anfield are on our road maps now and I for one am ******* terrified

We were the best team in the Championship last season, by some distance and I felt with a reasonable transfer budget in the region of £20m would see us secure safety with relative ease because despite our dominance, some areas needed serious improving

I'd earmarked certain positions that needed improvement: Goalkeeper, left back, centre back and left wing. One for each of those positions and we'd be set, so Imagine my surprise when I'm given £9m to keep ROTHERHAM in the Premier League

Some fiddling with the wage budgets gave me about £15m but I've already blown more than half of that and its only the 9th of June, to make matters worse, that amount was spent on only two players. Christ the Premier League's expensive

We really needed a goalkeeper so enter stage right Mr Jordan Pickford from Sunderland for £3m. A bargain in my opinion. Pickford wanted away from the Stadium of Light after finishing 10th in the Championship last season with the attack letting him down as he kept 21 clean sheets last season, add to that his 18 England Under 21 caps and his reasonable wage and he was a very good replacement for Lee Camp

I also needed a left back. Joe Mattock and Stephen Hendrie are nowhere near good enough for the Premier League so enter stage left Mr Kieran Tierney from Stoke for £7m. Left backs are, for some reason, more expensive than goalkeepers but Tierney is very much worth the money, at only 22 the Isle of Man born Celtic youth academy graduate already has 10 caps fr Scotland as well as plenty of Premier league experience wih Stoke City which will stand him in good stead here

At 22 he's a young defender as well and that £7m could have given us a left back for 10+ years, if we stay up that is

That's the left back and goalkeeper sorted, can we stay up? Probably not.
