I was going to say F.E.A.R is going dirt cheap (£1.74) and is a brilliant game. But I'd assume you already have it-you'd be mad not to.

Edit-the first Crysis is game is awesome too

Hammered all 3 on console might still pick it up tho, I was thinking something more for multiplayer not sure what games have an active communityedit crysis good shout too never played one only 2 and 3

Multiplayer? Titanfall. Extremely addictive and unique.

Single player - last Wolfenstein. Good story, , great gunplay with a bit of oldschool vibe (a lot of collectibles , picking up medkits etc).

Yes Wolfenstein is worth a shout definately.

When it comes to multiplayer I'm not really much help as I prefer solo games. But like mentioned Titanfall is popular.

Well I am now officially broke. Tyvm Gabe :'(

But I'm more than happy with what I got from the Steam sales.

Europa Universalis Rome Gold
Europa Universalis IV
Crusader Kings 2 (along with Legacy of Rome and Old Gods DLC)
Divinity Anthology

And not to mention the bargains on GoG.com aswell where I picked up

Baldur's Gate Original Saga
Baldur's Gate 2
Legend of Grimrock
Ultima IV (free gift from GoG)
Fallout 2 (free gift I completely forgot about from GoG)
Fallout (free gift as per above)

So even though I'm going to be revisiting my college days and living off pot noodle sarnies and beans on toast for a while it was so worth it. Global domination, RPG and dungeons and dragons.

Going to have the best nerding out sessions EVER (H)

Just a reminder that Amazon US typically does price match for Steam sales. You get regural Steam keys, but pay in $ - this little trick saves you additional ~25%. Just need to register with US adress.

Also helps to pick a state that has 0% sales tax (Alaska or Delaware work)

Here's fake adress generator http://namegenerator.in/alaska

Sometimes the games aren't in Amazon's catalogue though.

Well, as I didn't have the t'internet for a while, gave me a chance to try out my new aforementioned purchases.

It's safe to say, each time I play EU IV and Crusader Kings 2 I get my **** handed to me on a silver platter :'(

At least I'll have something to do this summer ^^)

Yeah its only a small expansion for republics but has some new idea groups and the Naval Idea group has been rebalanced and put in the military ideas I think. It has an elective monarchy government and some events as well. Manpower is getting tweaked so we don't see Napoleonic France in 1500 too which will be nice

edit - they are taking the monarch point malus off non western nations which is nice I am going to have a run at the three mountains achievement Ryuku will rule!

Whats that game?

This game is Europa Universalis 4

Yeah been watching the Youtube vids a lot more. The in game tutorials are just broken imo.

Also facing another dilemna. Total War Rome 2 is going for £10 odd on Green Man Gaming (£8 odd with voucher) and I'm furiously trying to decide whether or not to buy it lol.

You wont get it much cheaper than that so I would get it but to me rome 2 was underwhelming, tbh If they just fixed the UI it would improve things drastically.

regarding EU4 yeah tutorials are not paradox's strong point they're dump in every game HOI CK2 Vicky etc. I dunno which patch the lets plays are you are watching but the best piece of advice i can give you without knowing you playstyle or country is that in the early game since 1.6 hit shock is king.

I play slighty unorthodox early game i fill the aristocratic idea because it gives a diplomat, increases your generals shock value by 1 and 10 percent reduction in mil tech. Its not advisable to do this till you learn a bit more though. I usually get mil tech 5 fill aristocratic then go to mil tech 7 fill defensive ideas. Then catch up in tech.

1.6 is a different animal because manpower based upon basetax so because France is so rich it becomes a juggernaught early unless you put it down. My last game I split france in half with Burgundy but then I had to deal with a big Burgundy blob which is a different proposition entirely. 1.7 is gunna hit on wednesday I have seen on the forums which will change how manpower is calculated so thats going to be interesting. Its going to be a big patch too and is suppised to deal with alot of issues so you may just be getting used to it and it will change lol. But yeah any questions on strategy just give us a message I personally think a Brandenberg> Prussia playthrough is one of the best for learning just take defensive ideas early and your armies will be stronk

Aye very tempted with TWR2-but need to check out performance issues thoroughly.

As for the pointers-it would appear I clearly had no idea what the **** I was doing lol. But my general ideology I carry on from my RTW gameplay (and also a bit of MTW2). Strike early, military spending, rapid expansion that sort of thing. I know I shouldn't really base a strategy from those games as they're clearly a different breed of game but I can't help it at times. I've always been the first to strike first then ask questions later.

France who? :D

Anyway, Prussia is only strong because of their army tradition. You won't get high manpower nor landforce limit. And you won't be rich for very long time. Your best bet is getting great generals and 'bait' AI in attacking you in rough terrain.
