Back to Ajax with this tactic. Determined to win the champions league. Done the recent transfers. Schuurs, bande and tagliafico. Hired whole new staff because they had literally noone. Cant wait to get started and see what i can do.

In that case mate, download the original tactic then manually change the tactic yourself (it's really simple :) ).

Once you've downloaded the original tactic, have a look at Dimartino's comment with the instructions (Page 23 of comments, post #230) hope this helps :)

I must admit mate I've NEVER used the "shout instructions" options during FM18, not once. Also never changed the mentality at all, I've literally just trusted the tactic completely :) I've had such good success with the tactic I've not felt the need to change it :) I've obviously thought about changing it during a game I'd be losing but I never do :) If you find a change that works when losing then let me know mate I'd be interested to try it for sure :)

Exactly mate :) I've personally had great success with it such as getting Wolves into the CL within 2 seasons so that alone gives me enough reason to trust it haha :) What team are you currently mate :)? Hope it's going well for you.

Sorry for the confusion mate. I've changed the body of the post about an hour ago. When the thread was originally set up there were of course 2 strikers and a "number 10"/Advanced Playmaker. There was a very successful tweak from Dimartino who said about swapping the Advanced Playmaker to an Advanced Forward (his instructions are page 23 in comments / post number 230), I can't change the main name of the thread, but have changed the "title". Hope this makes sense :)
 
I’m in my second season and despite winning the FA Cup in my first season taking Huddersfield into the UEFA Cup and currently sat 6th the board are unhappy. On further investigations it’s because I’m not following the clubs philosophy of retaining possession. I’ve requested a meeting but had it declined as they feel I’m underachieving (aim is mid table finish). WTF! Anybody else had anything similar? Also I have Martin Ødegaard on loan and he’s a great player!

Strange one that, surely they'd take silverware over keeping possession haha. That's one thing I've found with this tactic, even when you're a "big" club, you tend to have only about 50-55% possession per game....but if you're winning the match then what's the issue haha :) I've had it in the past where they've not been happy with me due to lack of high profile players, which is obviously fixable quite easy. Perhaps tweak the tactic to "retain possession" to keep the board happy haha, would be a shame to ruin it though.
 
Hi Daniel,

I've had a lot of success with your original tactic in my Blackburn save. Got promoted from league one in my first season, and won the checkatrade trophy, then won the Championship at the first attempt, plus won the Carabao Cup. However, in the Premiership, and I struggled, so changed to the dimartino tweak, which is awesome at home and in the Europa League, but I cannot win away! I'm also getting a lot of yellow cards, and my right wing back keeps getting sent off.

Do you have any suggestions for away games?

How important is it that the midfielders are central mid support and attack?

Can other (maybe more natural roles for my players) work just as good, or will that "destroy" the tactic?
