Martin ap Dafydd -
A decent Welsh attacking midfielder signed from Championship side Liverpool for £6,000,000. Signed mainly for the fact he is one of, if not the best, Welsh player currently in the game and will provide real competition for places on both center midfield and attacking midfield. Will play a key role in the Wales team when I get the job (next time it becomes available hopefully)

These 3 sales brought in a combined £12,000,000 in transfer fees and saves the club around £60,000 a week on wages. Owain Humpreys was always a bit part player and after spending over 10 years at club I decided he deserved a chance to go to a club where he would be first choice. Still, another example of our academy producing decent players and hopefully he will be in my first Wales squad when I get the job! Javi Torres is a club legend but was pushed out of the first team squad so I allowed him to move back to South America. Helder was the biggest sale at £10,000,000, although he always performed when he played I didn't feel the need for 4 strikers in the first team squad when both of my new tactics only play one up front. Hopefully he wont come back to haunt me in the CL!

World Cup Group C

View attachment 357954

We've been drawn against England, Serbia and Nigeria, which I would argue is a pretty hard draw! Also managed both Serbia and Nigeria which makes it even more interesting, even if my tenure in charge of Nigeria only lasted 3 days before I resigned
:P How do you think we will get on in the group stage?

Next update will be our 1st Knockout Round Champions League tie against CSKA Moscow, I'm expecting us to secure a place in the Quarters!

Think your'll struggle in that group with England and Serbia proving a stern test, need points off them.

Yeah I agree mate, every team can take points off each other! The world rankings of the teams in our group are Nigeria (4th), England (6th), South Korea (20th) and Serbia (21st), I have no idea how the seedings of the draw worked! haha

View attachment 358076

This game was a little bit of a roller coaster! We went 1-0 up early on, however by the 53rd minute found ourselves 2-1 down. Luckily, the lads managed to rally and we find ourselves heading back to Wales with a 3-2 lead, and 3 important away goals!

View attachment 358078

Nice and safely through to the quarter finals! Being in the dominant position from the 1st leg I decided to opt for my more defensive formation and try to catch CSKA on the counter attack. It worked I suppose as they never really tested us and we ran out 4-2 winners on aggregate...

Great result from the 1st leg puts us in a good position heading to Turin for the 2nd leg! I was chuffed to get the 4th goal on the 88th minute as I knew it could turn out to be important with Juve getting 2 away goals, and that is how it turned out...

View attachment 358095

We got beat but I don't care, we're back into the Champions League Semi Final! I was a bit nervous when they got the early goal but once we got one back I had a feeling we would go through. Paul Araujo picked up his third yellow of the tournament and will miss the third leg of the semi final which is a big disappointment, we also have 2 or 3 of our better players 1 yellow away from a suspension which is worrying! AC Milan beat Tottenham 6-2 on aggregate so we will meet them in the Semis...

Champions League Semi Final

View attachment 358273

1st Leg - AC Milan 0 - 1 Aberystwyth Town

View attachment 358275

Great result! Kieran Pringle pounced on a mistake in the AC Milan back line to put us up 1-0 after just 5 minutes and from then on we have our long serving keeper Alan Gannon to thank for keeping Milan at bay. He made 3 or 4 great saves from close range and this allowed us to take a lead back to Wales. The bad news is our key man Paul Godoy picked up a yellow and is suspended for the second leg, whilst Kazimir Cigrovski (Wonderkid Right back) got a knock and will also miss the 2nd leg...

Man of the Match - Joakim Frojd (8.7 Rating)

View attachment 358278

2nd Leg -
Aberystwyth Town 3 - 2 AC Milan

View attachment 358279

We're on our way to the Champions League Final for a 3rd time! I was worried at half time as they had leveled the tie at 1-1 on aggregate and I knew if they were to get another goal it would leave us with a mountain to climb. So, I decided to sacrifice a midfielder and chuck Roy Watson on up front with Kieran Pringle and it had a devastating effect. Watson quickly bagged himself a brace which put us in a commanding position and although Milan gave us a scare by pulling one back with 10 minutes to go, we were able to hold out for the win with Pringle securing a 3-2 victory on the night with a 92nd minute goal! Arsenal beat Manchester United in the other Semi Final to set up an all British final in Greece...

The Match

5 - Goal -
1-0 to the Arsenal as Swedish striker Abbas drives a low shot into the bottom corner past Alan Gannon. A disastrous start for the Welsh side...

21 - Goal - Arsenal catch Aberystwyth on the break and go 2-0 up thorugh Enevoldson! Long way back now...

77 - Goal - Arsenal tie up their victory with a third through John Hulse. Aberystwyth haven't even created a chance...

90 - Goal - Arsenal kick Aberystwyth while they are down and add a 4th goal to confirm their 3rd Champions League in 4 years!

Some more nice improvements here, especially the Welsh League's move up to 9th in the competition rankings, meaning it is now a 3 and a half star competition. Straight away this meant all of my players more than doubled in the values they had during the season, which has resulted in some massive offers for players during the summer which have all been rejected so far, including a £45,000,000 offer for Kieran Pringle from Manchester United...

Other News:

1) Stadium to be expanded by 3000 odd seats, we will play at Park Avenue until January or February. We should be able to use the stadium for the knockout rounds of the Champions League which will be nice!
2) Training facilities are also being upgraded slightly, just to keep them up there with the best.
3) As previously mentioned, we have been getting quite a few bids for some our of quality youngsters which in a major league I may have considered accepting. However, I feel as though in this league I can only buy players with high potential so if I sell them now I will only be weakening my team massively for the next couple of years at least, which is not worth it in my opinion. I really want another Champions League trophy!

Quarter Final:

South Korea 1 - 1 Portugal (Portugal win 4-2 on penalties)

View attachment 358531

Well, a good run for South Korea comes to an end in the quarter finals in the worst way possible, a penalty shoot out. Still, I can't be too disappointed and the FA were very happy with our performances thoughout the tournament. I will probably stay with Korea until the Asain Cup in January but if the Welsh job becomes available before that then I'll probably take it...

Transfers

View attachment 358799

Plenty on the ins and outs here, I will go into the important transfers in more detail down below...

Ins

Steve Bigot - A very nice young Belgian right back who will hopefully develop into a world class right back who will play back up to Cigrovski for many years to come and will be a ready made replacement for Cigrovski should we ever be forced to sell. Will spend at least 1 season in the under 19's , but more than likely two. £8,000,000 is hefty for his current ability but is more than fair considering his potential.

View attachment 358801View attachment 358802View attachment 358803

Dominique Pierre - When I got the massive £33,000,000 pound bid for Hignett and knew I could get this lad for £13,000,000 it just made great financial sense to go ahead with both deals. He has plenty of potential to fill and will be just as good, if not better, than Hignett when he fulfills his potential.

View attachment 358804View attachment 358805View attachment 358806

Anselmo Aguilar - Another player who will spend the season in the under 19's but I feel he also has the potential to be world class, I also wanted to reinvest some of the incoming money from transfers. I see his future in center midfield and he cost £11,500,000 from Real Madrid.

View attachment 358810View attachment 358811View attachment 358812

Steve Young - Back up right back brought in on loan for the season, nothing much else to say about him really.

View attachment 358816View attachment 358817View attachment 358818

Franco Guirado - An actual signing who goes straight into my 1st team :O I was quoted £38,000,000 for him at first but after some true Harry Redknapp style unsettling of him in the press he put in a transfer request and I got him for £20,000,000, whilst selling Polverino for £23,500,000 and I think Guirado is better. At 23 I still think he has scope for improvement as well. He will partner Frojd for the next couple of seasons and he seems the natural successor to Frojd in the long run!

View attachment 358823View attachment 358824View attachment 358825

Outs

Glyndwyr Lewis -
I feel like he needs more game time to be on fire for the Welsh national team and needed to create a space in the squad for Iwan Bell. Got £5,250,000 from Swansea for him, good deal for all parties involved.

View attachment 358831View attachment 358832

Dom Hignett - He's had a great couple of seasons at the club but I felt £33,500,000 was too much to turn down when I knew I could get Pierre for £13,000,000. Hope he doesn't come back to haunt me in the CL!

View attachment 358834View attachment 358835

Antonio Polverino - Sold him for £23.5 million whilst bringing in a better center half of a similar age for just £20 million, no brainer really! Also made a £15 million pound profit on him...

They are improving to be fair, but I don't think they are at the stage yet where they will qualify most years. I'm hoping with the fact the league has jumped up to 3 and a half stars in competition rankings that other teams will start to attract better players.
