Premier League Table

1 Current first team injury:
Kurt Zouma (DC) - 3-4 weeks (sprained ankle)

Phil Jones (DRC/DM/MC) - 10-14 days (sprained ankle)

Martin Skrtel (DC) - 10-14 days (strained ankle ligaments)
Blaise Matuidi (DM/MC) - 3-4 months (broken foot)

Southampton (7th) - the Saints maintain their bid for Europe but still need to fight off Arsenal and hope the cup quotas go to the league.

Hull produce some remarkable results to pull away from the bottom three and appear close to safety with seven points away from the drop!

Norwich, West Brom and Liverpool occupy the bottom three with little hope left as time is running out for them!

Hristov signs new 1 year contract and secures triple youth signings in the summer!

Newcastle United have announced that hugely successful Capital One cup winning manager Dimiter Hristov has agreed to sign a new one year contract with the club. Incredibly the length of the deal suggests the board will need to re-enter negotiations in short six months to keep the eccentric Bulgarian at the helm. Sources inside the club tell me Hristov has used his success as leverage to force owner Mike Ashley to increase the wage budget by 110k pounds. The idea behind this is obviously boosting the transfer budget as transforming the free wages to money to spend equals around 5.0 million pounds - a sizable chunk. It can be added to the already free wage budget and transform to a total of 11.3 million pounds the manager can spend on new players if he drains the entire free wages (but any wages the club pays the potential new recruits will need to be deducted from this sum). It is easy to deduct Hristov has found a great tool to bargain with notoriously penny-pinching owner Mike Ashley by forcing him to boost the finances available on a regular basis when renewing the manager's contract. This is a high-stakes game to play as getting rid of Hristov would be easy with nearly no compensation due so the Bulgarian will be a hostage to his own success!

This news is coupled with announcing three long-term signings as Hristov is living up to his recent promise to sign the most exciting youth talent from around the globe. The trio will join the Magpies as soon as the summer transfer window opens:

View attachment 422637
Pero Sunara

The first signing is young Croat midfielder Pero Sunara (16) who will be joining from Hajduk for a tribunal 400k pounds fee.

View attachment 422636
Christos Ntaflas

The second signing is Greek midfielder Christos Ntaflas (18) who will be joining from Olympiakos for a tribunal 800k pounds fee.

View attachment 422635
Sercan Akarsu

The third signing is Swiss promising winger Sercan Akarsu (15) who will be joining from Basel for a tribunal 34.5k pounds fee.

Hristov has announced he is hunting for another young winger from the Bundesliga but nothing has been agreed yet and refused to reveal the name of the target.

Hull suddenly become a giant killer!

Yes, incredible scores for them! And I am amazed by Liverpool, I never thought they could really go down and it seems definite right now!

What do you think of the youth signings? I am pinning big hopes on them!

Humble pie has never tasted sweeter! I was one of many to heavily criticize the appointment and consequent actions of Dimiter Hristov as manager of Newcastle United - and those couldn't have been further off reality as the extravagant Bulgarian executed his plans to pull the club out of the ashes and to greatness with nothing short of perfection!

Expectant eyes follow Hristov at the Lane

The team came out in a very hostile White Hart Lane knowing a win would secure the title after Manchester United had managed to throw the gauntlet one last time by demolishing heavy spenders City away from home earlier this weekend. Pundits were widely expecting to see the Magpies crumble upon the pressure to get a result but nothing like that happened. There was only one team on the pitch in the first half and we had the lead at half time thanks to a great strike from winger Hatem Ben Arfa.

View attachment 422490
Ben Arfa scores the crucial first goal

Spurs significantly upped their game after the break as they were chasing a target of their own with top four still in their sights. A champion sometimes needs luck on its side and we had it in this peculiar second half as Tottenham thought they had equalized not once, but twice - only to see both goals disallowed. Adventurous Hristov put some additional pressure on defense by weirdly deciding to install Tiote in the place of Steven Taylor who had picked a knock earlier in the game - a decision he later explained with the fact there are only two centre backs available at the moment and he didn't want to risk losing any of them. The team responded by going all out in attack and scoring two more late goals to seal a classy display worthy of a champion! Fans and players remained at White Hart Lane singing and dancing long after the final whistle had announced the dream of generations has been realized - Newcastle United are champions of England again!

Promised and delivered!

If this isn't enough - the fairy tale can extend even further when Hristov leads his warriors out in the FA Cup final against Fulham - hardly the most formidable side to face in a fixture of such magnitude!

Nobody had heard of Dimiter Hristov before his appointment threw the footballing world in ripples of misjudged doubts and outright mockery but what are the genuine reasons behind his paramount success in his virgin season at the helm of Newcastle? Here is a quick resume:

View attachment 422487
Hristov forever in Geordie hearts

- Hristov convinced owner Mike Ashley to spend, and spend big on a great mix of established and up-and-coming players - even if it meant a large portion of the transfer fees would extend over the next few transfer windows. This allowed high-profile players to arrive at Saint James' Park and they all played a key role this season: Gino Peruzzi, Leighton Baines, Kurt Zouma, Eduardo Salvio, Eder Alvarez Balanta, Loic Remy, Alex Sandro, Memphis Depay and Landon Donovan all came this summer.
- He wasn't shy to sell popular players who wouldn't make it in his plans to fund incoming deals: Jonas Gutierrez, Fabricio Coloccini, Gabriel Obertan, Mike Williamson, Dan Gosling, Shola Ameobi, Rob Elliot and Gael Bigirimana all left this summer.
- The manager introduced extremely strict financial policy on wages within the club to minimize all expenses and fund additional transfers.
- Various upgrades of facilities and staff were agreed with the board - the benefit of which shall be experienced even more in the long term.
- Last and perhaps most important - Hristov was often accused of big talk but ultimately never lied to the fans. Whatever he promised - he delivered it. For this reason alone his success will only feed a growing affinity that was already there. Because let's face it, even if he'd failed to bring a trophy in his maiden season, Hristov had already won over each and every heart bleeding black and white for awakening the greatest passion of all - the ability to dream.
