WEST BROM ALBION - A STEP FORWARD?
After a tense beginning to the year, WBA have somehow managed to qualify for Europe as they displace Arsenal to the final spot of the Europa League and complete an impressive turnaround. A year back there were questions about the manager, the chairman and the players, now only a certain question about the player remains and that is a very good thing.
Mr Savan Shah was keen to sack Jorge Jesus at the start of the season but his advisors suggested otherwise and it has paid dividends as a full season granted him the chance to instil his ideas in the team and which often showed. However, the Chairman and the manager both agree for once that the lack of goals is a concern as they try to find a goalscorer for the club especially after being trumped by Luis Suarez by Stoke and chairman Stonecold.
The real question today is, is this a step forward or is just a hoax and the club will fall into a malaise again? The Chairman with however number of faults he has can't be blamed for his lack of passion as he tries to turn WBA into a genuine force but it is still a huge task and road ahead. So will it be a step forward or will we see 2 steps back in the upcoming season? Only time will tell.
Right now the midland club can celebrate what is a historic and fortunate European berth and try to make the most of it as they announce themselves to the world.
