Never underestimate the legend that is Keano XD.

Not a great start and sad to hear Gourcuff didnt have a good debut. Hopefully you can see the best of him in the opening PL game :D

good to see that you´re back in business with the story. Some good transfer deals you made there. Shame about the start against tottenham, but once the team gels it´ll get better i´m sure :)

Sunderland 1 - 2 Chelsea
Salomon-Kalou-Celeb-Second-Goal-Chelsea-v-Atl_2375531.jpg

Chelsea edged this game at the Stadium of Light, but it was a less than convincing performance.

After an incredibly dull 45 minutes, the first real chance on goal came to Sunderland, and Lorik Cana hit an absolute dream of a shot into the roof of the net to pile the pressure onto the Champions.

And it took them a while to respond. A triple substitution at half time brought on Sanchez, Kalou and Ba, and they started to click for Chelsea, and just in time as well.

In the 70th minute, Ballack played a nice wide ball to Sanchez, who drilled a wonderful cross along the face of the goal where Kalou tapped in to equalise, and it was a well worked goal.

But the winner came with 5 minutes to go, as young Cesar Azpilicueta, making his Premiership debut tapped in a wonderful Zhirkov cross to give Chelsea their first win of the season.

It was a good comeback, but they'll need to up their game again if they are to beat Liverpool at Stamford Bridge next week.

hey,
great comeback against sunderland,
can you post your line up against both tottenham and sunderland,?

thanks :D

Chelsea 1 - 1 Liverpool
epl-bolton-v-liverpool-2.jpg

Despite taking the lead, Chelsea were unable to hold on at Stamford Bridge, as they dropped their first points of the season.

Still looking to find some form, Chelsea failed to create anything in the opening 45 minutes, and Voronin came close on two occassions for Liverpool, but was unable to find the right finish.

Drogba continued to look out of sorts up front, rarely bringing the wingers in to play, so Sanchez had to take the lead, constantly beating Aurelio on the right hand side, but there was no-one in the box to finish off the move.

They finally took the lead in the second half, when the captain John Terry headed in a Zhirkov corner to make it 1-1, and Drogba had a chance shortly afterwards to double the lead, but Reina made a very smart save to keep it 1-0.

And that saved proved crucial as Glen Johnson pounced on Zhirkov, who was dawdling in the middle of the park, to power home an absolute screamer, and his first for the club.

Next for Chelsea is Fulham at Craven Cottage, never an easy game as was seen last December, but it will be a game they will be looking to get all 3 points from.

cheers guys, great to see you're all back here following :)
yeah it's been a tough start to the season, especially that loss to tottenham, shocking.
struggling to find a strong starting XI at the moment, which is a worry, and I'm not sure what formation I want to go with, but that should come in time.
ill post all formations and team line-ups with the match reports from now on, okay?

Fulham 1 - 2 Chelsea
_46255010_007838369-1.jpg

Chelsea won their 2nd game of the season at Craven Cottage, and the manner of victory was more encouraging than the final scoreline may suggest.

Chelsea dominated from start to almost finish, scoring early on through Didier Drogba. Gourcuff found space on the left before beating his man and placing a great ball into the six yard box, where Drogba got ahead of his man to slot home.

Lampard then doubled Chelsea's lead with a cool finish after great work from full-back Cesar Azpilicueta, and Chelsea looked on course to get a comfortable victory.

But complacency in the second-half meant that they weren't to capitalise on a slack Fulham, and Baird pulled back an undeserved equaliser deep into stoppage time with an absolute thunderbolt.

Nevertheless it is another win on the board for Chelsea, and a solid performance for the most part of the game.

CHELSEA HANDED KIND DRAW IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
q11368378770_9004.jpg

Chelsea's hopes of winning their first Champions League began nicely today in Geneva as they were drawn with Hapoel Tel-Aviv, Panathanaikos and Getafe, a group that must generally be viewed as one of the easier ones.

Holders Barcelona will meet Ajax, Galatasaray and Slavia Prague, whilst runners up Inter host Kiev, Leverkusen and Aberdeen. Tottenham start their Champions League campaign against Porto, PSG and Lokomotiv, whilst Manchester City, appearing in their first ever Champions League, drew a toughie with Real Madrid, Fiorentina and Spartak Moscow.

Chelsea 1 - 0 Portsmouth
2931360489-soccer-barclays-premier-league-chelsea-v-blackburn-rovers-stamford-bridge.jpg

Chelsea got their first home win of the season, but they left it until deep into the second half to ****** a winner.

The Blues dominated possession for the opening half an hour, out-passing and out-thinking their opposition, but were time and time again frustrated by a lack of efficiency up front.

Young Mario Gotze came on to make his Chelsea debut in the second half, replacing the once again dissapointing Gourcuff, who is rapidly becoming labelled as a flop by the Chelsea fans, and made a good first impression, winning the penalty which won the game.

Zhirkov's corner came in and as Gotze rose to head home, he was pushed by Bouba Diop. The referee didn't hesitate to point to the spot, and Lampard kept a cool head to give Chelsea the lead, late in the game.

Portsmouth gave a good second half performance, and will be dissapointed at not having come out of the game with anything to show, but Chelsea scrape another win.

Middlesbrough 0 - 2 Chelsea
Frank-Lampard-celeb-pen-v-West-Ham_2399331.jpg

Chelsea put in an acceptable performance at the Riverside today against the bottom-of-the-table side Middlesbrough, and eventually won comfortably.

Chelsea's performance in the opening 45 was at times a joy to behold, playing some wonderful passing moves and it was as good as it's got so far this season.

But it still took something special to give them the lead, and it was Frank Lampard who did the honours of smashing Chelsea ahead with half an hour gone, hitting a screamer into the top right hand corner for his second of the season.

In the second half, Chelsea lacked a bit of concentration at times, and Marvin Emnes broke free on a couple of occassions but Petr Cech was in fantastic form to keep the score at 1-0.

Late on in the game, Demba Ba broke free of one such Middlesbrough attack to bury low past the Kozacik and give Chelsea their fourth win of the season, albeit against one of the weaker sides in the Premiership.

It's a result that puts them back at the table, but on this showing there is still plenty of work for the manager to do. Their next game will be against Getafe this Wednesday in the first matchday of the Champions League 2011.

Great stuff mate! Keep up the good work I am loving this story!

My Liverpool story is back if you are interested!

no love for ashley cole?
Also try playing one cm as advanced playmaker and one as box to box because its working for me.

Good Luck!!:D

Good luck mate I found the 2nd season a struggle finishing 3rd after winning 1st season but did have the transfer ban!!

Getafe 0 - 0 Chelsea
610x.jpg

Chelsea lacked a clinical presence up front today as they got their quest for the Champions League underway with a dissapointing draw in Spain.

Despite plenty of pressure from Chelsea in the opening half, they were unable to carve out any real chances, instead threatening mostly from longe-range, with Essien hitting the post on two occassions.

Nicolas Anelka made an appearance in the second half, but a man who you would usually associate with being reliable was unable to find the composure to slide past the goalkeeper when put through one-on-one.

The dissapointing Gourcuff made way for Gotze to make his second appearance, and he spread the play well late on, bringing the full backs Bosingwa and Zhirkov more openly into the game, but Chelsea failed to find a finish.

With 5 matchdays left to play it is no crisis, but it will be dissapointing for the Chelsea manager.

O God Gourcuff! Its sad to hear he is underperforming for you. What excatly is his problem in a match? Is his passing poor, losing too often? What position does he usually play? I might be able to help you here.

Unlucky against Getafe, they arent too bad a side to be fair.

just read through all 8 pages and it takes a lot for me to do that for a Chelsea story but I proper enjoyed it mate! Good signings there mate, Gourcuff is class.

leedsunited - we're currently 2nd to Manchester City but only on goal difference. We are really struggling for goals at the moment, it's frustrating!
dan - cheers mate :) it's good to be back with this season, albeit it's not started too well lol. I've caught up with your season at liverpool as well. are you carrying on with port vale..?
chelseafan11- yeah that's another thing that's bugged me. Been looking for a replacement for Ashley Cole in case City come snooping and I've got 36m now, so if anyone has any ideas?
zidave - yeahh well on this version of the game the bans been overturned by a uefa panel so that's good for me, but I think I may struggle this year too. My main objective is the Champions League after last year's poor performance.
shootie - yeahh it's pretty shocking. I've tried him in a couple of positions. In my 4-1-2-1-2 I played him just behind the two strikers, once as an attacking midfielder, and once as a trequartista, but both times he's just underperformed. Would love some help on him. And yeah Getafe aren't too bad. I under-estimated them a little bit, but defensively they were very good, although we still should have been beating them. Hopefully we'll give them some back at the Bridge.
Deano - Glad you enjoyed it :) Will be making sure I get a few more postings up and please keep following :) Gourcuff is a class player - hopefully he'll buck up his ideas for us sooner rather than later!

next post is a home game against stoke, so keep following!

I am carrying on with Port Vale but have got a bit bored with it and giving the story a rest but it will be back up again! When I get the teeth for it! lol

And for your left back look at Domenicano Cricito! He is world class for my Liverpool

Chelsea 4 - 1 Stoke
2180268.bin

Chelsea responded from that mid-week draw against Getafe with a wonderful performance against a decent Stoke side, and they could have won by more.

Chelsea looked in the mood from the off, playing in a new formation, encorporating two wingers into the line-up.

And it was the left winger, Kalou, who played in Gourcuff for the first chance of the game, but his shot just skewed wide from 18 yards.

It wasn't going to take long and after Lampard was tripped just outside the area, Drogba curled in a wonderful free-kick to put Chelsea into the lead, and deservedly so.

And not long later, Chelsea worked the ball well into Stoke's box, and Gourcuff looked to be one-on-one with Sorensen before he was brought down by a rash tackle from Arismendi. Lampard converted the ensuing penalty to make it 2-0.

And as if that wasn't enough before half time, Michael Essien capitalized on another mistake from Arismendi to hit a 30 yard screamer into the top corner. Chelsea 3-0 up and not looking back.

In the second half though, Tuncay Sanli pulled back an instant goal for Stoke with a wonderful shot on his right foot, into the top right hand corner. Chelsea only seem to concede spectacular goals this season.

But they made sure of the result when Sorensen dropped a long ball in the area, and Drogba sweeped the ball into the back of the net for a deserving 4-1 victory.

It's certainly a refreshing scoreline after a few meager results, and there were impressive performances for every player in a blue shirt out there today.

I would love to buy that bloke, he looks ace. Just found him on the search, but it won't let me make an offer. Is that because he's co-owned by like three clubs..?
