Monthly Review

This month was all about the Champions League after we wrapped up the league halfway through and beat bottom of the table Sunderland to make the FA Cup Final. The first Valencia game was a disaster as we were 2-0 down at halftime but after I told them all how **** they were doing they brought it back so we had a chance in the second tie. I went to Spain thinking maybe this was it for us this season in the Champions League but we played out of our skins up front whilst a bit shocking at the back we managed to outscore them which was the main thing!! Then I saw our semi final opponents and thought we were going to get smashed as we were missing a number of players due to injuries and suspensions(look at the team I had to field!!) but Ramires put in an absolute shift and Lukaku scored late meaning we have control of the tie going to Munich!

Stunning month, didn't really bother with the league games and played weakened teams to try and avoid injuries and fitness concerns for the big games against Bayern, Barca and Spurs!! It all paid off thanks to some superb performances from the likes of Lucas Piazon, Wallace and Anikin so we could rest key players like Hazard and Azpilicueta!!

John Terry bowed out in true John Terry fashion picking up and injury in the final league game against Stoke meant he wasn't fit for the Champions League Final against Barca but the lads put in a shift for him and we won the big one and after the match he announced his retirement from football. So not the perfect send off as he didn't play in the Barca match but a great way to send off a true club legend!! We have enough quality to fill in for him and he hasn't been a regular this season thanks to superb performances from Chalobah, Ake and Kalas.

Lucas Piazon

Did really well filling in for Hazard and destoryed Spurs by himself in the FA Cup final, really has come on leaps and bounds this year.

Final League Table and BPL Player Stats

So we stormed to the league title but look at how poor the rest of the boys were, they struggled to get over 80 points!! Reading, Swansea and Sunderland were all relegated as the usual 4 finished in the Champions League spots. Norwich finished high considering the squad they have.

In the player stats Chris Samba averaged the highest rating just ahead of Lukaku. It was a shame Ake's injury cut his season short because he was having a superb year. Hazard racked up the most assists probably thanks to Lukaku smashing in 27 goals this season from 26 games!!

Squad and Season Summary

View attachment 330364 View attachment 330365

Nathan Ake averaged the highest rating more than justifying his Golden Boy award back in January. Dell'Anno played well when given the chance but Lukaku and Ademilson are still above him in the pecking order so I may loan him out next year. Hazard and Lukaku were our most consistent players though and without them I doubt we would have won anything this year, Ademilson was average at best when chosen ahead of Lukaku. Will Hughes had a superb year displacing Mata from the starting line up speaks volumes of how well I think he has been doing.

Hotly contested with Chalobah and Ake but for him to displace Mata and score 15 goals and rack up 17 assists at the age of 20 is pretty special.

I know!! So many left but him and Walcott stayed. The Ox went to Spurs though :O

Good start in the league against Newcastle and Stoke
Thiago leaves for a whopping £50m
Bring in a fantastic little regen to replace him though!!

Outs

A lot of youngsters going on loan, Feruz had a good season at Sheffield Wednesday last year so I decided to let them have him again as it did help his development too. Tried to offload Ramires but the best I got was a loan offer with a whopping £600k a month!! But the big departure was Thiago who was sold to Madrid for a huge £50m!! I signed him for £24 so I made double plus he was on high wages and behind Wilshere in the pecking order. Also I got a very good regen in who is good enough to replace him,

Ins

Mazur was signed about a year ago and looks like a very good CM for the future, Medina was signed on a compensation fee and if he doesn't develop I'm sure I can sell him for a profit. Pascual was also signed on a compensation fee and looks like a solid RW for the future then I got Shunin on a free and he looks like an immense RB who will replace Wallace as Azpilicueta's back up. Shame I couldn't offload him though.

Now the marquee signing of the window and the most exciting regen I've had since Filippo Bertoli in my Southampton save from last year. Fabrice Bassilekin!!

Look at those stats!! So well rounded and only 20. Took a lot of negotiation with PSG but I feel I got a good deal :)

So I'm pleased with my signings and my start in the league but 2 tough defeats means I think this year might not be as successful as previous years. We just never got in the games and deserved to lose, I think maybe I'm expecting too much from this young team. Our oldest player is Juan Mata at 27.

Anyway we finally moved into our new stadium :) Drogba Park

And here's our Champions League Group, not sure what to think with Twente giving us a tough game last year and a trip to Russia is never good!!

What skin are using? and how did you get all the club badges and player faces?

Would appreciate if you could send me the links for all of them.

THANKS!

I find it funny that your 200th game in charge of chelsea is the first one at Drogba Park. I'm really enjoying this by the way

Do you think
Feruz will ever be good enough for your 1st team after another season on loan? As a Scotland Fan our country is counting on you to develop this troublesome talent. No pressure Sam!

Well this season is make or break for him really. I'm planning on selling a couple of big players in January to make space for some of the youngsters. He's doing quite well so far for Sheffield Wednesday so time will tell. Loftus-Cheek had a good loan spell with them too and has done pretty well so far for me this season.

Update tonight laaads

A pretty good month but a disappointing result against United as they get the better of me for the second time already this season!! I did field a weaker side, Lukaku was playing purely because Ademilson was injured and Albert was a bit unfit, and the kids done well but not good enough. In the league we were solid enough and a brilliant win over Arsenal gave us plenty of confidence that we are capable of retaining the title if we perform good enough.

In the Champions League it was like playing a different Twente side to last year as we swept them aside and we struggling against Plzen but our class shone through thanks to Pogba's impact off the bench.

In control in the Champions League, AVB taking over United seems to have had a good impact there as they're looking very strong this season.
