Breaking News!

Watford F.C. have been bought for pittance by a very handsome chap who's some might have thought would be more likely to be recording disney songs than involved in football these days! We now cross over to our man on the ground, John Drayton who might just fill us in with some details;

"Yes Jim, I'm currently standing outside Vicarage Road, from which we are expecting new boss Elton John to emerge any minute now. As you will know... Oh, here he is, lets catch him before he rushes off to one of the many very important appointments he has"

John: So Mr. John, this is a very sudden and unexpected takeover, so would you enlighten us please?

Elton John:
Well obviously the last chairman left very unexpectedly and under some strange circumstances, and as soon as I saw this opportunity arise, I knew that it was for me. I have always desired to own a football club, and when the chance to own my boyhood club came out of the blue, I jumped at the chance. I believe that I can turn Watford into a top four team in the next three years.

John:
You have taken over just before the Winter transfer window opens, so can we expect you to take a front seat in any dealings that go on?

Elton John: I have complete and utter confidence in our manager Guiseppe Sannino, and although I will be asking around some of the other chairmen to see if any deals can be negotiated, Guiseppe and I are both very happy with the team as it is. Anyway, I've really got to get going, but any other time after these next few weeks, I will happily give a statement

John:
Just quickly before you run off, how happy are you with the team you have inherited?

Elton John:
I am very happy with the team, but don't be surprised to see some players leaving, as we look to sort out our finances

John:
Well there you have it folks, an exclusive interview with Watford's new chairman, Elton John, who seems like a nice calm fellow who knows what he's talking about. Back to you Jim.

Slightly random question, but what do you look for in your manager when signing a new one??

I went for Determination, motivating, tactical knowledge and man management!

who agrees or disagrees???

I agree. But I think judging CA is also a key attribute!

But I think the most important thing is getting a manager that plays your system!!
... If your teams has amazing fullbacks, why hire Conte that only plays with CB's?

Also I think a good personality is important (preferable the same as your teams).

Working with youngsters, judging PA, adaptability & discipline could be relevant.
Same goes for hidden stats like buying players, rotation & minds games.

For top-clubs reputation is a factor too.

I know you can't get all these factors as forfilled as you would like to, but I take them all in consideration when choosing a manager - but off course the most important here is: Availability :D

Decisive December For Spurs.

@Blogspot - Bits heard at a Spurs press-conference.

"Due to rubbish FA regulations and working paper trouble, Roberto Mancini hasn't been able to takeover as manager until now. Therefore we have been playing in a non-optimal system. But we are putting the situation behind us, and a glad to have Roberto here with us now.

...With that said we are content with the first 1/3 of the season. We still have a good chance of advancing in Europe, and we are only 3 points away from the BPL 4th".
/ Teddy Sheringham

"First half of December is a key for us! First of all we may have to beat PSG to qualify for the CHL knock-out faces. And in the same two weeks, we have matches against our closest rivals in the table Fulham & Cardiff, and off course your Derby against our rivals from Schwarzeneggers "London"-club, Arsenal.

... In the last three matches of December we meet Watford, Nottingham Forrest & Blackburn. These games should secure us 7 important points."
/ Roberto Mancini

Man city hire pep guardiola!
utu3ytym.jpg

Man city chairman mike summerbee released this statement on the clubs official website: "we today are delighted to announce that we have hired pep guardiola as our new chairman. He is a young manager who has won trophies wherever he has been and has always played entertaining, passing football which we at city strive to play. This is the best manager in the world and exactly what we need to push on to start challenging on all four fronts each season. We thank hiddink for all his hard work and he is a close friend of mine, this is why he agreed to take over as interim manager until December, as we had already agreed with pep that he was going to take over city at this point. Hiddink has left by mutual termination, and won't be paid any compensation as of our agreement. This is our 5th manager under my reign after pellegrini, who chose to leave to Southampton and has done amazingly there. Rosler, who's style of football simply wasn't city like.van gaal, who decided to retire just a month after being hired due to personal reasons. Hiddink, who took the club on a temporary basis due to our friendship and has us sitting 2nd on goal difference so has done a good job, and now finally guardiola, who we believe will stay Manchester city manager for a much longer time than his predecessors"

I haven't really got for individual stats. Kind of just imagined myself as a Chairman in real life and who I'd take. (That's probably why I'm doing ****)

Thinking about possibly stepping down. I'm just too busy with my new job that I don't have time really, no matter how much I kid myself. Even now I'm only posting as I've got a spare 5 minutes before going out.

If you do, prior to confirmation, can I take over Liverpool? I know I was very inactive but the other chairman game has slowed down now and I am only intrested in 1 other forum. :)

You left our game to join another chairman game, you didn't even bother to say anything, you just went inactive altogether...and because that game has grinded to a hault, you want to come back? Sorry man, but no. No hard feelings though.

Feel free to continue viewing the thread and leave comments. :)

Bad Start For Swansea Means Change At The Top!

swansea-v-saints.jpg

Appologies for not posting this sooner, really busy time for me at the moment, everything is happening at once!!

Its been a terrible start for Swansea, with Rikjaard leaving the club and the rushed appointment of Gary Bowyer, leaving the welsh side in the relegation zone. Dennis Bergkamp has now made drastic steps in the way of turning the season around with the appointment of seasoned professional Ottmar Hitzfeld. The 65 year old German is one of the most successful managers of all time, when questioned Dennis said this:

"We rushed into the previous appointment and it just wasnt the right thing for the club, I apologise to the fans for that and hope that the appointment of the fantastic Ottmar Hitzfeld will make up for this. We have had a long conversation and we both agree on what we want from the season, hopefully we will have some exciting news to come from the transfer window when it comes round aswell"

Liverpool Chairman Confirms Exit

The Liverpool FC Chairman, Terry Dunne, has today confirmed he will be stepping down as Chairman. There have been reports circulating around for some time now as the Chairman wrote the following letter to the fans.

"First and foremost I'd like to thank each and every one of you. You are undoubtedly the best supporters in the world and you deserve better than what I've been able to give you. This is one of the main reasons I'm stepping down. Hopefully the next in-line will be able to give you what you deserve; champions league football and trophies! It's been good while it lasted but it's time to call it a day.

"Thank you kopites. And remember; You'll Never Walk Alone."

Press Release

Blackburn Rovers are pleased to announce the end of the press ban put in place for the last two months by the Chairman, Davie Bond, after poor performances.

View attachment 391127

Bond:-
After only one win since the start of the season I decided that too much time was being wasted by management on media duties. So it was decided to simply take away that problem and just let them concentrate on the football side of the business. Two wins, three draws and two defeats have shown that this has been a correct decision so management are now banned from speaking to the media but I have decided that banning the media from Ewood Park was damaging to ourselves so I have allowed them back as long as they leave Gianfranco and gang alone to do their duties.

So after a fantastic result at home against Hull, we had a double header away from home against Newcastle and then Manchester City. We absolutely hammered the Toon but just couldn't put the ball in the net. That dodgy character, wheeler dealer 'Arry was seen handing out brown envelopes at the local motorway service station after the game to 4 gentlemen wearing thick specs.

Next up were the Mancs of a blue persuasion. Nothing to say about this game except that we got well and truely horsed.

Then it was 2 home games in a row, so we were hoping to continue on from our last home match when we beat Hull 3-1. First up was Liverpool, where young Scot Jordan Rhodes hit his 4th goal of the season to give us the lead only for the Scousers to hit back at the start of the second half through Aspas to earn a draw in what was an evenly fought encouhter.

Then it was Arsenal at home. Diego Costa scored for the **** but Jordan Rhodes struck again to earn another point for the Rovers.

An outstanding strike from midfielder Jason Lowe after only 7 minutes at Craven Cottage gave us the three points against a talented Fulham side that have played very well so far in the league.

Next up was a shocker for the referee where he somehow thought that everybody had paid their money to see him and not the 22 footballers on the pitch. He was a disgrace from the first minute to the last. Sending off three players for absolutely no reasons at all. Big Davie Goodwillie scored with a cracking diving header after only 16 minutes only for East the beast giving Cardiff a penalty for what we are still trying to work out.

Then Cardiff went in front another three minutes later only for Jordan Rhodes to hit back and it was all level at 2-2. Four goals in 9 minutes and this game looked like it could turn into an absolute cracker then the tube decided that no one was watching him so he started. First he gave Jason Lowe a straight red card for what looked like a foul for us, no way was it a foul against us. Then he decided to level things up and sent Monreal off for Cardiff for his second yellow card, the first of which was never a foul never mind a card.
After the break East the beast then sent of Grant Hanley for two yellow cards that again was very questionable even the Cardiff directors and management team where amazed with his decisions. Cardiff eventually using the extra man to their advantage in the last ten minutes when our players were out on their feet to score two more goals and make a score that doesn't equal the game.

A complaint has been sent to the FA about East's performance and I personally hope that his next ***** is a hedgehog.

The last game of November was an away game at one of the teams promoted with us from the Championship last year, Watford. That man Rhodes again popped up with another goal that was enough for all three points in a tight affair that could have went either way. That's 7 goals now in 13 league games for Jordan.

Next up for us is a home game in front of the TV cameras for the first time this season against the winners of the Championship last season, Notts Forest.

Sorry to lose you Tezzz.

Hope real life calms down and you can get back sometime.

Update coming now.
