Player expected to depart Goodison Park
Sky Sports reports
1st January 2015

View attachment 390712Everton have found themselves in an odd predicament this season, and it often happens to clubs that play in the Europa League. The fixture list always becomes a big factor, causing players become more fatigued and likely to be sidelined for longer periods of time.
CLUB WILLING TO LISTEN TO ANY OFFERS FOR ALL PLAYERS
The club seems to be addressing this issue as they officially announced today that the club are willing to listen to offers for all players and hope this will free up funds to potentially bulk out their squad for the remainder of the season.
The club hopes to be back in the top half by mid March!

Well you heard it here first, Everton are on the prowl for some loans, whilst looking to sell of one or two big stars to provide funds for what is expected to be a very busy transfer window for the club.

Raul pleased by Martinez, and Hammers players!
Reporter: Well Raul, your thoughts on the last few months?
Raul: To be honest, I'm quite happy with the direction we are going in. Yes we are lying in thirteenth, but the things the players and the staff have gone through to the takeovers.
Reporter: And your insight on the transfer front?
Raul: We will be making changes. We generally do not think that are squad is capable of achieving what we hope to achieve. I think you'll be in for a surprise or two, there are many players we are chasing who other squads do not wish to keep, and we will use this to our advantage.
Raul's unwanted players list
Jaakelainen: Free
Matty Taylor: Free
Joey'O Brein: 2.5 Million
Emmanuel Adebayor: 1.5 Million

Schwarzenegger uncharacteristically is happy with the manager even thought they sit in 19th place

Injuries have plagued the Arsenal team in recent months and he is said to "understand" why the team are struggling.

"5 first team players have been out for a lengthy time including the only first team keeper Schezny (possible bad spelling) leading striker Diego Costa and favoured CB Caulker who all have torn a hamstring in the last 2 months"

"one place we have in abundance is in midfield with many players unhappy at the rotation so we will be looking to shift a few and strengthen in other positions"

Arsenal transfer list:
Santi Cazorla - 15m
Oscar - 20m
all prices are negotiable and I am open to trades.

Offers on all players will be considered even if they are not on the transfer list

Cardiff City Half-Season Review
View attachment 390396
Cardiff currently sit in 6th place in the league at the halfway point in the season and we caught up with the chairman to reflect on the performances so far this season.

Reporter: 6th in the league. Is that a surprise or is that where you see Cardiff City competing on a regular basis in the future?

njmclare: I am a bit surprised to be honest. We made a lot signings in the summer, virtually signing a new team but Stefano worked well with the players over the summer months. I certainly don't see us as an established top-half team. With so many of players signed on a season long loan, our playing squad will vary greatly year on year. I would hope we can maintain our form this season and finish in the top 10. I would rather not get the europa league as our squad is quite small and feel we could do without the distraction of thursday night football in the Ukraine.

Reporter: Any performances catch your eye this season?

I still get frustrated with certain games, for instance, losing 3-0 at home to swansea when we had a greater percentage of possession, had more shots target and also created three clear cut chances but still couldn't score. We also failed to score and lost against palace and watford. However we performed very well against some of the established top teams, winning against arsenal, man utd and tottenham were particular highlights.

Reporter: Stand out performers this season?

njmclare: Well certainly Yannick N'djeng. I was a little apprehensive at first, he sent me a few youtube videos of himself dribbling round cones, and shooting, keepie uppies, that kind of thing. I thought he could end up like Bebe at Man Utd, or Ali Dia at Southampton, but he's as strong as an ox and holds the African under u16 schools high jump record so I took a punt. The lad has turned out alrite so far.

Reporter: Currently in the transfer window. Any deals you can confirm?

Njmclare: We have moved on a couple of players on free transfers, Peter Whittingham and Matthew Connolly to Blackburn and signed Oriol Romeu from Chelsea. It is hoped that Oriol spends the next six months settling in at the club, acclimatising himself with the welsh weather, so that he can start playing games next season. There are a couple more transfers in the pipeline but there won't be any big signings.

Nottingham forest are happy to announce the arrival of the Portuguese centre half thiago Illori (may be spelt wrong) for the fee of ? 1 million from Liverpool. and I would like to add we are having a Stella season sitting in mid table looking for a top half finish this season .

Robbie Savage -
Well there's been exciting times here at Ewood Park. We, the media, have eventually been allowed back into the stadium to talk to the chairman and it has to be said his stance seems to be working for Zola and the rest of his backroom staff. December has been a great month for all concerned at Blackburn so lets here for the chairman on what his thoughts are at the halfway point in the season.

Davie Bond -
Hey Robbie. Time for a haircut for you I think. And yeah it's been a great month for us here and we are very happy in our 9th place in the league.

Ten points from a possible 18 is a great return, though it could have been even better if we had that wee rub of the green in the two games that we narrowly lost by one goal to Palace and Everton.

Jordan Rhodes got us off to a flyer with the only goal of the game on the Wednesday night Live game on Sky against Notts Forest.

Then big Rudy Gestede opened his goal account with us and hit a rich vein of form at a great time for us and scored in the next four games in a row. He got the opener against Palace only for us to throw it away and lose 2-1 to them. He then hit a goal either side of Jordan's 9th of the season in a cracking 3-1 thrashing of Swansea at the Liberty Stadium. Rudy then got another double in the home match against Everton only for us to let them score 3 in an evenly fought match. The next match was an away day at Old Trafford against Man Utd. Rudy got the first just before half time and Jordan doubled our advantage just after the break. Man Utd pounded us for all of the second half and their pressure paid off as they scored twice in the last 10 minutes to earn themselves a point. Definitely two points dropped there I feel. So that was 6 goals in four games for the big Beninese striker.

On Hogmanay, on loan Liverpool player, Gabriel Iancu, hit a double against Spurs at home to earn three points for the club and more importantly a free bar for the players at the New Year Bash after the match.

Robbie Savage -
So a successful half season so far for the Blue and Whites. Hope the celebrations at the bash are not too early through.

Transfer News

Blackburn Rovers are pleased to announce the arrival of two new faces.

Matthew Connolly arrives from Cardiff City on a free transfer. The 27 year old central defender can play anywhere along the back line and will be joining the battle for one of the spots in the back three.

Also arriving on a free transfer is fellow Cardiff City player, Peter Whittingham. The versatile 30 year old midfielder can play in a multitude of positions and is an experienced player that will be a valuable addition to the squad.

Rumours abound that this is not the only additions to the squad that Gianfranco Zola will be making in this transfer window.

More later.
