Ssn: so you sit 3rd in the table, how surprised are you about that?
Dave:yes I'm surprised, we are a year ahead of schedule in terms of that. We built a young squad and had planned to try push for a top 4 finish by the 3rd season, there is still half of a season left and it will be very difficult to keep this up but I'm not concerned if We don't because like I said next year is when we expect to chase the champions league.

Ssn:so you think if you was to get European football it will lead to sustained success for Southampton?
Dave: yes, exactly that. Every club aims for sustained success and we are no different. We have an advantage on this in terms of the academy setup we have producing good young players, but I have put lots of hard work bringing the likes of Jonathan tah and yassine Benzia to the club, who despite not being even in our first team squad yet will one day accompany players like Alex Sandro and Mateo kovacic playing football at the top level.

Ssn: finally, the transfer window is open at the moment. Are you planning on doing any business?
Dave:no. We have little budget to play with and I don't want to be buying players for the sake of it, we want to make signings only if the right player is available and so far- he isn't. In terms of outs we don't want to disrupt our squad to much in this important second half of the season so very few players are available. Kevin grosskreutz is one, and the hard working winger/full back could help a lot of teams but he simply fails to fit in with our narrow formation. Anyone in the under 21s is available for loan including tah,Benzia and maupay

NORWICH ANNOUNCE TRANSFER DEALS

Norwich City have today announced the outcomes of three transfers, 2 out and 1 in as manager Malkay Mackay revamps his side.

Their signing is English midfielder Jordan Mutch, who joins from fellow top 10 side Cardiff City for 2 million. Mutch has barely played this season and has been promised a chance to show his talent at Carrow Road.
Leaving the club are midfielders Nathan Redmond and Alexander Tettey, who leave to Nottingham Forest for a combined fee of 7 million. Mackay said that the offer was too good to turn down with neither player having shown the ability to play top football during the last two seasons. He wished them luck and stated that they had first refusal should Redmond ever decide to leave Forest. Viktor Brezhnev said that the club were planning to bring in more players before the end of the transfer window.

Blackburn Rovers are pleased to announce the arrival of two more new faces to Ewood Park.

First to arrive is Matty Taylor from West Ham on a free transfer. The 33 year old attacking full back can play in any position on the left hand side of the pitch and is looking to try and make the left wing back slot his own.

Scott Parker also arrived on a free transfer from Fulham. The industrious midfielder is a welcome addition to a strong midfield unit and his experience will be a great asset to us as we reach the second half of our first season back in the Premiership.

Latest news is that there may be a further announcement to be made later about more transfers into Blackburn. A very busy January for the chairman, directors and management team as they try and improve the squad.

Nottingham forrest have signed no fewer than 6 players this window Luciano vietto for 7 million Nicolas Castillo for 4,6 million Thiago Illori for 1 million then comes the pair from Norwich Nathan Redmond for 5 million and Alexander Tettey for 2 million. finally a last hour deal for John Stones for 4 million so we had a big window this January spending 23 million pounds

Well there we have it, another transfer window come and gone, hopefully chairmen got all the players they wanted. The save is in the middle of uploading. Could I ask all chairmen who did any business over this window to check the save and ensure all transfers were completed. If there is any problems, PM me and I will make any required adjustments; dont rant about it on the thread.

Lastly I will be simming until the end of January tomorrow night, could all chairmen send me their transfer budgets they would like to give their managers; otherwise it will be set to 0.

Game Update!

Was thinking of putting background sugar daddies on ALL chairmen clubs to boost finances. Will do this tomorrow evening when simming to the end of January...

What is everyones feelings on this; before I make my final decision?

Background Chairmen
Unlike the foreground chairman, the background chairman will look to let you and your backroom staff do what's needed. He will not interfere with the daily running of the club, but will make sure the club economy is healthy. The background chairman will support his club with financial support for a couple of seasons or promotions before stepping down as underwriter. By supplying the club with money he will ensure some success and a financial stability to keep the squad level and make sure the club doesn't get too much debt.
