Feliciano: We Can Do It!

Daniel Feliciano last night made a staggering claim that his side could keep their form going all season long and pull off a shock league victory in the process. The North London side sit top of the table and are unbeaten in all competitions this season including victories over Arsenal and Manchester City in the league, and Manchester United in the cup with 9 men.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We won't be favourites for the league. We could never get to that level in one summer. But if we keep playing the way we're playing, and make sure that we keep our heads down and work hard then why can't we become champions!? We've got the quality in our squad, we've got the ability, we've got the personnel and I quite honestly believe that we can do it. Whether we will or not is a completely different kettle of fish though. It's still so early on in the season and although we are top, there is an awful long way to go before anyone is crowned champions so we won't be concentrating on that until around March/April time. For now we're concentrating on playing well, scoring goals and winning games.

Spoken Too Soon? - Ocotber Round - Up

Burnley 0-3 Spurs
View attachment 61766

A fantastic start to the month for us against Burnley. At Turf Moor where they have proved a difficult side to overcome, Peter Crouch put us 1-0 with a close range header in the first half to give us a comfortable opening. Luka Modric scored a stunning free-kick to put Spurs 2-0 up before half time before Crouch scored his second of the game in the 66th minute to wrap up the 3 points for Spurs.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We were very good today. We kept our shape, took our chances and Crouchy looks like he's hitting form which is good for us. Very happy tonight.
Brian Laws said:
I thought we were good today, but they were better. The quality in their squad shone through and the height of Crouch proved quite vital in the end.

Manchester United 3-1 Spurs

A vintage performance from the Champions at Old Trafford today ended the unbeaten run of Tottenham. Park Ji-Sung scored an early header after some slack marking in the first half and that was pretty much it for the first half. Michael Owen doubled the reds' lead before Jermaine Defoe made it a nervous ending for the champs. Ex Spurs boy Dimitar Berbatov wrapped up the points late on as Spurs pressed on and were caught on the break with a great finish into the bottom corner.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We were good today, but for once we didn't have that killer instinct in front of goal that we've possessed all season. We were punished and the better team won in the end.
Sir Alex Ferguson said:
We were brilliant today. Dimi showed what he can do and we can score goals even without Wayne. Great win.

Spurs 1-2 Wigan

A disappointing result for a game that started out oh so well. Niko Kranjcar put Spurs ahead with a sublime low curling strike into the far corner from just inside the penalty area. We dominated all throughout, but then against the run of play they equalised through Titus Bramble from a corner in a freak goal that came off the post to hit Gomes and trickle in. Spurs pressed on for another goal but more slack marking from another corner meant Hendry Thomas could head one home just past the hour and Spurs couldn't recover and fell to their second consecutive defeat.

Daniel Feliciano said:
I'm disappointed today. We've been playing well all season, and played well today but the last few games we've lacked the finishing touch and we were punished again.
Roberto Martinez said:
We were very very good today and fully deserved our win. Two good goals from set pieces and good defending, great win.

Fulham 0-1 Spurs
League Cup 4th Round

A very even affair at Craven Cottage where a Spurs side that had 10 changes in it beat Fulham thanks to a phenomenal solo effort from England hitman Jermaine Defoe, who added to his tally at the top of Tottenham's goalscoring chart. Heurelho Gomes put in a Man of the Match performance pulling off some truly magnificent saves to see his side through to the 5th Round of the competition they've been in the final of the previous 2 seasons.

Daniel Feliciano said:
A good win today and a great goal to win a good game of football. We will concentrate on the next league game now and hope to get back on the winning trail there now.
Roy Hodgson said:
We were good today and it was an even game. We were beaten by a wonder goal from a terrific striker and I couldn't of asked from more of my team.. apart from maybe a goal.

**Drawn vs Coventry City in Quarter Finals**

Stoke 1-3 Spurs

A sublime performance from England hitman Peter Crouch saw Spurs hit the winning road again as he scored a hat-trick at the Britannia Stadium. He opened the scoring early on with a vintage header. The 6ft 7' striker then smashed one in with his right foot at the second attempt towards the end of the first half. Then within a minute of the re-start he had got his 3rd with a solid left foot strike into the near post and seal the match ball. Mamady Sidibe then scored a goal that proved to be a consolation 2 minutes later.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Great performance from us, and of course from Crouchy. We looked dangerous all the time and we finally started finding the net today. Very happy with that performance and the result.
Tony Pulis said:
We weren't good today. We weren't physical enough and we couldn't cope with Crouch who looked on top of his game tonight. We'll go back and tr fix up for next week.

Despite losing twice this month in the league, we sit 3rd in the league behind Liverpool and Manchester United. We are just 2 points off 1st with a game in hand so are still very much involved at the top of the pack. Did Feliciano speak too soon?..

Poor month there pal but you are still doing rather well. Keep it up and you may make it as repetitive as your Wolfsburg ;)

9/15 points isn't too bad, seeing as one of the defeats was vs United but yeah wasn't the best of months. Cheers mate.
