Back With a Bang - November Round Up

Spurs 4-1 Hull
View attachment 61797

A sterling performance from the North London club. Peter Crouch gave Spurs the lead with a great header from around 12 yards out, before Lennon tapped one in shortly after. Defoe put Spurs 3-0 up 5 mins before half time. Geovanni got a controversial goal with 18 minutes left but Jermaine Defoe scored his second of the game 5 minutes later to give Spurs a very comfortable 4-1 win.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Great performance today from the lads. We took our chances well and looked comfortable throughout.
Phil Brown said:
I thought we played well today. We kept the ball but when we lost it their quality shone through and they took their chances. Wasn't much more I could've asked from my players.

Fulham 0-1 Spurs
View attachment 61798

For the second time this season a 1-0 win at Craven Cottage was the result when Tottenham travelled to Fulham. An injury time Jonathan Woodgate goal secured the 3 points for the title challengers after Defoe had hit the post and Yannick Djalo had missed a sitter all within the final 10 minutes of an otherwise boring game.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We showed great character with that win. Woody has struggled with injury this year, but we gave him a game and he lasted 90 minutes and got us 3 points. Justified my decision really eh?
Roy Hodgson said:
We were good today, but in all honesty they were better. It wasn't the best game, but they upped it in the final 10 minutes and probably just deserved the win.

West Ham 0-1 Spurs
View attachment 61799

Angel Di Maria scored a penalty on his return from injury to secure Spurs the 3 points at Upton Park. Peter Crouch was brought down by Junior Stanislaus when he went up for a header, and the Argentine trickester slotted it expertly into the corner and away from the despairing dive of Robert Green.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Good win for us today. The performance wasn't incredible, but the win is the most important thing and we got it today.
Gianfranco Zola said:
We were good today. I don't think it was a penalty, it was a harsh one. But we take it on the chin and move on to our next game.

Spurs 3-1 Sunderland
View attachment 61800

A vintage performance from Tottenham at White Hart Lane gave them 3 points and put them top of the table going into December. Aaron Lennon gave Spurs a great start tapping home from 6 yards out after Eidur Gudjohnsen's shot was saved by Craig Gordon. Benjani then scored a controversial goal as he slotted in while Ledley King was down, and Sunderland wouldn't put the ball out of play despite him having to come off due to the injury. Eidur Gudjohnsen scored a quick second half brace to seal the points and send Spurs top, 2 points clear of champions Manchester United with 14 games played.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Very happy today. Sunderland are a strong team all over the park, but we showed why we are where we are in the league and justified our league position with this great performance.
Steve Bruce said:
It was a fantastic performance from us all, but Spurs showed their quality. That's why they are top of the division, and we're bottom. Clinical finishing.

Assou-Ekotto injured by Pavlyuchenko

Benoit Assou-Ekotto was last night ruled out for up to 2 months after he dislocated his shoulder after landing awkwardly from a challenge by Roman Pavlyuchenko. The left back, who has attracted lots of attention after some scintillating performances this season will be rocked by this news and will hope that he can get back to this kind of form when he returns.Gareth Bale will be his replacement in the side.

More to follow..

Bale Demands Transfer!

Gareth Bale has demanded to be put on the transfer list at White Hart Lane after Olympique Lyonnais boss Claude Puel stated that he wanted to take the Welshman to France. The full-back publicly slammed manager Daniel Feliciano after the Portuguese man stated that he wouldn't allow Bale to move.
Gareth Bale said:
After I found out that Lyon wanted me, I was set on moving. They are a top European club, competing consistently in the Champions League and winning trophies on a regular basis. What kind of footballer wouldn't want to leave their current club if they were in my situation. It's wrong for Daniel to say he's not going to sell me, because it's my career and it's my choice. I should be able to move to whatever club I want to move to and if they want me to sign I should be able to sign for them. It's a disgrace.

Daniel Feliciano was unavailable for comment but it is expected that Bale would be sold in the January transfer window and he will look to get as much money as he can for the Welsh Wizard. Sources inside the club say that Feliciano will target Joe Mattock as a replacement.

Step Too Far? - December Round Up [Part 1]

Spurs 4-0 Coventry
League Cup Quarter Final
View attachment 61829

We cruised through to the semi-finals of the League Cup with a thumping victory over Coventry at White Hart Lane. Niko Kranjcar, Sebastian Bassong, Jermaine Defoe and Angel Di Maria were the goalscorers in a routine victory over the Championship side.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We were confident of going through today and it showed in our performance. We took our chances and controlled the game.
Chris Coleman said:
We were battered today. The difference in quality was there for everyone to see, but it was an achievement even to get this far so I'm proud of the lads.

Aston Villa 0-5 Spurs
View attachment 61830

A thumping victory over 7th placed Aston Villa away from home sent out a big message to the rest of the league. Jermaine Defoe scored a brace, Wilson Palacios scored a penalty and Peter Crouch headed home all in the first half to blast away all chances Aston Villa had of getting something from this game. Then late on, substitute Luka Modric dazzled the defence with a run and smashed it low past Brad Friedel to top off a 5 star performance at White Hart Lane.

Daniel Feliciano said:
A truly magnificent performance today. Everything we did was good and they couldn't cope with our pace. Fantastic win.
Martin O'Neill said:
We were poor today. I'm sorry to the fans and to the board, and the players will be in bright and early tomorrow and we will work this out. Truly poor from us today.

Everton 1-1 Spurs
View attachment 61831

Tottenham were unlucky not to pick up the 3 points on this afternoon at Goodison Park. Jermain Defoe blasted Spurs ahead in the first half with an expert finish from 12 yards out. With 4 minutes to go however, Sebastian Bassong brought down Leon Osman in the box for a penalty. Osman stepped up, only to see his penalty saved by Gomes, but he smashed in the rebound and Everton hung on for the point.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We were unlucky today I think. We played well all game long, and controlled the play. A mistake from Seb got them a pen and even then they could only get the rebound so it was unlucky today.
David Moyes said:
We ground out that result today, well done to the lads for not giving up until the end.

Spurs 1-4 Chelsea
View attachment 61832

The scoreline really flatters the away side in this one, as Chelsea ran out 4-1 winners at White Hart Lane. Wilson Palacios went off injured, and after Huddlestone had fallen ill before the game, with no holding midfielder on the bench the task was left to Niko Kranjcar. Spurs still managed to take the lead through another Jermaine Defoe goal, but then Chelsea began to play. A Frank Lampard brace, John Terry header and Nicolas Anelka tap in in stoppage time gave Spurs their first defeat in 8 games. Gomes was incredible, but the fire power of the Blues was just too much for him to overcome. Ledley King also saw red late on for the home side.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We were unlucky today. The injury made it hard for us, and he's out now for 8 weeks so it was always going to be hard for us to get the win, but I don't think we deserved to lose 4-1.
Carlo Ancelotti said:
We played very well and we took our chances. I'm very happy with the team and hopefully we can build on this win.

Step Not So Big.. - December Round Up [Part 2 of 2]

Spurs 0-0 Blackburn
View attachment 61889

Bit of a bore draw this one. Corluka was sent off just after the break for a second yellow card, and yet we still pressed on but couldn't find that goal we desired. Christopher Samba was given a straight red card with 6 minutes to go for taking down Yannick Djalo when he was clean through.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We weren't at our best today and neither were they. Wasn't the greatest spectacle and I think the fact that Samba took Yannick out like that as a professional is wrong, but it's done now and we'll look at it as a point gained rather than two dropped.
Sam Allardyce said:
We were strong all over the pitch today, and both red cards were correct in my opinion. If we had taken some of the chances we had then it could have been a different story.

Bolton 0-2 Spurs
View attachment 61890

A win finally came for Tottenham in this game as they got their first win in 4 games with a 2-0 win over Bolton at the Reebok. Jermaine Defoe's second half quick fire brace gave the Londoners the 3 points and saw them stay at the summit of the table.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Fully deserved win in my opinion and it's about time we got one. Jermaine has been fantastic all season long, and these 2 goals showed what he's all about, proper poacher's finishers. Good team performance and 3 points.
Owen Coyle said:
We were unlucky today. We restircted their play, but Defoe has been in some form and he took his chances tremendously. We'll look to bounce back though.

Arsenal 2-3 Spurs
View attachment 61891

Another derby win for rookie manager Daniel Feliciano has made him a North London Hero at White Hart Lane, after he led Tottenham to their first league double over Arsenal in a very long time. In an incredible game, Spurs found themselves 2-0 up in the first 5 minutes with Angel Di Maria and Jermaine Defoe both scoring from close range. Peter Crouch then headed in from a corner after just 11 minutes. They held on to lead 3-2 at half time. They looked comfortable until Denilson drove a low strike past Gomes, and then 2 minutes later Eduardo slotted one home to cause a nervy last half hour for Spurs, but they held on for a famous victory.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Great achievement for me. 2 North London derbys, and 2 wins. I don't think many people have a record like that, so I'm incredibly proud to have beaten them. Great performance from us and hopefully we can carry it on.
Arsene Wenger said:
We were good today, but we couldn't score after we scored those two goals. It's not normal to score two goals at home and still lose so I think we were unlucky.

Spurs 2-1 Man City
View attachment 61892

Another dramatic late goal for Spurs against Manchester City saved them some points in this league season. Roman Pavlyuchenko slotted home from the penalty spot after he was brought down by debutant Dedryck Boyata. Emmanuel Adebayor scored shortly afterwards, before Luka Modric stabbed home a 90th minute winner after Jermaine Defoe's shot rebounded off goalkeeper Shay Given.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Well once again, is it "luck of champions" that they call it? Whatever it is, we've had some tonight. We were excellent but they were solid and we took our one chance in added time. Great win for the lads.
Roberto Mancini said:
We should have got at least a point. We could have won, but we didn't.. that's football.

Bale signs for Lyon

Gareth Bale has signed for Lyon for a fee of £4.6M. Chairman Daniel Levy interefered with this transfer stating the fee was "too good to be true", although Daniel Feliciano stated he wanted at least £8M for the Welshman. Bale will complete the deal on January 1st.

You're doing really well in the league but £4.6m for Bale is a bit light, you are deservedly miffed!

Yeah very disappointed that chairman jumped in, reckon I could have got way more.

Mission not so Impossible - January Round Up

Watford 1-4 Spurs
FA Cup 3rd Round
View attachment 61959

An excellent win for us, sent us on our way into the 4th round of the FA Cup. Kyle Walker scored his first ever senior goal for the club after 39 minutes to send the away side into the lead at half time. Jay DeMerit then scored an own goal to double Spurs' lead and pretty much throw away Watford's hopes. Danny Graham pulled one back for Watford before Aaron Lennon wrapped up the win to make it 3-1. Peter Crouch added a fourth in injury time.

Daniel Feliciano said:
It was a comfortable win for us today. Even when we conceded we were always in control and it was a matter of how many we could/would score.
Malky Mackay said:
They were better than us today. We gave them a run, but when they scored there quality showed.

Barnsley 1-5 Spurs
League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg
View attachment 61960

Another thumping victory for Spurs saw them set one foot in the Wembley final after scoring 5 away goals in this first leg tie. John Macken put Barnsley into a shock lead, but Spurs began to dominate and it wasn't long before the found the back of the net. Yannick Djalo headed over the keeper to score his first goal since the 4-0 win over Southend back in AUGUST. Jermaine Defoe then put Spurs ahead a minute after the restart and Djalo scored another just 3 minutes after that to pretty much settle the game. Defoe then scored again and then Crouch wrapped up the rout and pretty much settled the tie 90 minutes early.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We were excellent and we showed great character to come back from a goal down to win as comprehensively as that. But there is still another leg so we won't say that we are going to Wembley, but we will say that we are in a very good position.
Mark Robins said:
It's going to be tough, but the scoreline certainly didn't flatter them. They were that much better than us. We've got a massive task on our hands to get to Wembley, and we're going to have to give everything we have.

Portsmouth 1-1 Spurs
View attachment 61961

Spurs were unlucky not to get the 3 points in this game, as they conceded a cheap goal and dropped two points at penniless Pompey. Luka Modric put the league leaders ahead, before Frederic Piquionne levelled it up with a low drilled strike from the edge of the area.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Poor defending for the goal has cost us. We made a single mistake and it's cost us two points. That's the Premier League and we will have to bounce back to make sure we are still in this hunt.
Avram Grant said:
We did well today, and deserved the point we got in the end. It was a great goal from Freddy and hopefully he can keep scoring those important goals for the club.

Spurs 5-0 Wolves
View attachment 61962

A sensational performance from Tottenham saw off the efforts of Wolves who had held Spurs to a draw earlier in the season. Lennon gave Spurs a top start tapping in at the back post after a cross from Di Maria. 9 minutes later, Crouch doubled the lead with a fine strike into the bottom corner. He then scored another a minute after half time to wrap up the points. Defoe added a fourth 3 minutes later, and then scored his second of the game on 66 minutes.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Magnificent from us today. We completely controlled this match from start to finish and couldn't see us losing from the minute we kicked off. Crowd was buzzing and really spurred us on. Great win.
Mick McCarthy said:
We were poor. We got battered which is what we deserved after that performance. Poor, and we're back to square one on Monday to sort out all those problems.

Spurs [6]1-0[1] Barnsley
League Cup Semi Final 2nd Leg
View attachment 61963

A single goal in this game killed off the tie. A David Bentley strike in the first half killed this tie off early on, and Spurs are in the League Cup Final for the 3rd consecutive season!

Daniel Feliciano said:
Great achievement for us to be in the final again, and hopefully we can go on to win it after the disappointment of last season.
Mark Robins said:
It was an uphill task after the first leg and the goal tonight took the wind out of us and we started playing better after that. They enjoyed it, and it was a great experience for the lads.

** Tottenham vs Everton (Carling Cup Final) **

Spurs 2-0 Derby
FA Cup 4th Round
View attachment 61964

A simple, comfortbale 2-0 win for Tottenham today saw them roll into the 5th round of the FA Cup. Goals from Roman Pavlyuchenko and Jermaine Defoe saw them through and moved Defoe onto 22 goals for the season.

Daniel Feliciano said:
Comfortable tonight. We looked solid and fluent and we got our rewards with a good win and we scored two good goals. I'm happy tonight.
Paul Jewell said:
We were good tonight, but there Premier League quality beat us, and probably deservedly so.

Spurs 5-1 Fulham
View attachment 61965

Spurs turned in a 5 star performance in this game to steam roll over Fulham and remain in top spot. A header from Peter Crouch gave Spurs the lead just before the half hour mark. Jermaine Defoe smashed one home on 42 minutes and then scored another 2minutes into first half injury time. Two Diego Renan penalties wrapped this up, after Jonathan Greening had made it 3-1.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We were excellent again today, and we looked really up for this one. We looked like we wanted to thump them and we did. Great performance from the lads.
Roy Hodgson said:
We were unfortunate today. I didn't think we were as bad as the scoreline suggests although that is what people remember.

Birmingham 0-1 Spurs
View attachment 61966

Michael Dawson's first goal of the season gave Tottenham another 3 points this month and made sure that they ended the month 3 points clear at the top of the table ahead of Chelsea and Manchester United. The England defender had a goal disallowed in the first half for pushing in the box, but made ammends in the second half, by smashing a header into the corner from a Luka Modric corner.

Daniel Feliciano said:
We looked good again today. We've played alot of matches this month, and the fact we have only not won one of those matches, is a great compliment to how well the team has been playing.
Alex McLeish said:
We were unlucky today. Slack marking from a corner cost us and we will need to work on that sort of thing because that's the difference between us at the bottom of the league and the sides outside the drop zone.

Good business investing in the youth of the club today, but disappointed that chairman accepted such a lowly offer for Bale. I also rejected a lot of bids during the transfer window, including bids for Bassong, Woodgate, Dawson, Modric and Lennon.

great results keep it up :D and Gabriel Silva is a great buy turned brilliant for my Arsenal side within 2 years was keeping Clichy out the side.
