okay i think it is clear Sam made a stupid point on way Religion is true, just to clear it up, not many people actually think that is why

I'm no expert on science or anything, but tbh it probably is just luck the solar system was made in this spot. I'm not even going to attempt to explain it, because well, I don't know. But gravity played a part.
I think it's more important to have belief in one's self to be honest. Believe in yourself, and better yourself when you can, and respect others. That's my belief.
And if my views on creation offend anyone, I apologise. I don't intend to dismiss what you believe in, it's just what I believe in. Nothing more than that.

Yeah ok, I respect your beliefs to mate ;)

Not at all.

I can't beilive in somthing that nobody can prove.

And can make up so many different gods and so on and so forth.

I think it is a major factor as to why our world is in the state it is in today.

This is my opnion only and I would never judge anybody

THIS.

Religion is what is wrong with the world.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able, nor willing? Then why call him God?

I disagee to be honest. Sometimes when people have nowhere else to turn, no friends, family, or are just alone and sad, they turn to religion and it gives them strength, and a new found belief, happiness and gives them the strength to keep going. Ive nearly lost a few friends down the road, and they started going to church, praying, and it made them a lot happier because they felt, they connected with something. If that makes sense.......its late and trying to word things properly. I think that religion is there to give people new found believe and hope

God can't go against Free Will, otherwise he becomes the Devil. he could if he wanted to, but She morally is perfect and Morally we have to make up our own choices, he can only guide us not Instruct us.

Chill out king of trolls.

I was chilled, just some home truths my Friend

Religion isn’t about God or the stories of how the world was created, or what happens after death or any of the other things incomprehensible to men that religion attempts to explain. For me religion should serve two purposes: 1) It is used to instill a moral code in young children 2) It gives people hope when they have nothing else to turn to, the power of which cannot be understated. Unfortunately, with regards to the first point, not all of the morals preached in religion are for the better. Many wars have been started as a result of religious conflicts, and I see armed conflict as the antithesis of the most fundamental concept of religion. Some religions teach discrimination, others have been used as scapegoats for horrible deeds. I personally was raised catholic and have kept the morals from that religion which I found most meaningful (Noah’s ark, david and Goliath, ten commandments) but have also added beliefs from some Buddhism classes I have taken at University (Karma, Nirvana, Sunyata) and I think that is what people need to do. It isn’t about the stories but the meanings behind them, and I think trying to fit oneself into the box that is a religion closes one off from the morals and values which transcend religion. Anyway just my opinion, not trying to refute or belittle anyone elses

Did you actually just claim that God is morally perfect? Have you read The Bible? A God that is morally perfect, yet commanded Abraham to offer his son, Isaac, as a sacrifice to him? A God that commited mass-genocide by unleashing The Great Flood? A God that wilfully allowed Satan to murder Job's family in order to test his faith? This doesn't sound to me like a morally perfect being to me.

All tests my Friend. Which un fournately many people failed. Job had to flood the world ( if it actually happened) as we ruined it, can god be blamed for righting our wrongs? God is all powerful, all knowing and correct in everything he says and does. I would never question him, but if you wanna be my guest.

So you think that just because something is done with the intention of testing someone, then it is not an evil act? If I were to force my girlfriend to kill her parents, (Who aren't too fond of me), in order to prove her love for me, would that be an evil act? Or is it only God who can get away with administering these sadistic 'tests'?

1. Remember, Isaac did not die in this account, god was never going to let that happen as he had done nothing wrong, he just wanted to see if Abraham truly loved him

2. The flood wiped out all the people who disobeyed his command to build the ark so they would be saved, but Noah who obeyed god and built the ark was saved, that shows justice doesn't it?

3. Job was promised everlasting life in return

1. So do you believe that just because he never intended to let Isaac die, his actions were just? A morally perfect being that lied to Abraham in order to 'test his faith' is not, in my opinion, a morally perfect being

2. Murdering an entire group of people because they disobeyed him seems to contradict the idea that God created us with Free Will. We are permitted Free Will, but if we use that will to disobey God, then we are worthy of being killed?

3. I'll concede on that one. I don't know a great deal about that particular story, so I don't feel qualified to argue for or against it

1. He didn't lie, telling man to kill his son and then stopping him last minute because he could see he was willing to do it isn't lying, that's merely testing his love as I have already said. And Abraham and Isaac went on to have great relationships with God

2. Free will was put to humans after Jesus died, in Noahs time love for god was an important thing if you wanted to keep your life, they were very strict. Noah was mocked because he obeyed god and spent all his time building the ark while they thought it was just silly, why would god give the people who didn't help Noah and his family safety, another test of faith given out by god

Would you make you girl friend go through with it...? cause god didnt make anyone go through with it.

We had an choice build the ark or not, we didnt. it isn't god fault he warned everyone of the great dangers, we CHOOSE not to listen.

In her radio show, Dr Laura Schlesinger said that, as an observant Jew, homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22, and cannot be condoned under any circumstance. The following response is an open letter to Dr. Laura, penned by a US resident, which was posted on the Internet. It's funny, as well as informative:

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination ... End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbours. They claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

5. I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination, Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I'm confident you can help.

Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

It would be a **** shame if we couldn't own a Canadian.
