Maybe so, but why would he opt for the much less likely belief? That's what puzzles me.

I can't answer that for him. All i know is, I dont dismiss Science and it clearly has some sort of function as millions of people believe in it, but Millions of people Believe in religion as well, Yet it is accepted to dismiss religion? That Puzzles me.

My question would be why would God give us reason not to believe if he did exist?

As we are humans, We think for ourselves, it is only natural that we will think up different possibilities, Hence our free will.

No, i mean the people who just say Religion is bullshit, All religious people are crazy, Blah Blah Blah.....! It is discrimanation, it is no different to me being racist or Sexist..

Calling all religious people crazy would be a massive generalisation. I wouldn't include saying religion bullshit as discrimination though, some religions spout out a lot of ****, some of it true, some not.

big bang theory - you can't get something out of nothing. there must be something before
religion - books, persoanlly experiences

i never thought i would be a christian but something changed that

There has been discussion on numerous theories on what happened before in this thread. No one in modern science currently believes the big bang was the first thing to happen.

Some people dismiss science like some people dismiss religion. Though it's not surprising that the dismissing of Religion holds more weight as scientific findings and theories are based on evidence that supposed 'Religious happenings' cannot provide.

# Christians meet with God in prayer, as a child would meet his parent, because they have a direct relationship with Him. God, in the person of Jesus Christ, expressed His love to us by living as we would, and ultimately giving His life on the cross in our place so that we can have this relationship

So you talk to God and he does not talk back, bit rude if you ask me ;)

I dont pray im not relgious but if person choose to pray in what they believe is right isnt that up to them

But to call them all crazy is no different to surely calling all muslims people
terrorists(not that i think that), but both insults based on religion, Yet the latter would be classed as Racism?

I am not arguing it, i just think it is wrong... Of someone dismisses science, they will be automatically attacked., but it is accepted in Society to do the same to religion, Which i strongly agree with, i can go into a pub, Talk to some, say i am a christian and get abused for 2 hours, yet the guy who talks about the big bang theory can preach all he likes.

I'd say calling them crazy is discrimination, however calling it bullshit isn't.

Wait that was my argument last night about something must of happen to cause the big bang to happen nothing comes from nothing
Even David Hume (1711 – 1776), one of the most zealous skeptics of Christianity ever, agreed that things don’t just pop themselves into existence. In 1754, he wrote, “I never asserted so absurd a proposition as that anything might arise without a cause.” [David Hume, The Letters of David Hume, 2 vols., ed. J Y. T. Greig (Oxford: Clarendon, 1932), 1:187]

Im not discrediting the big bang theory but something/someone must of caused/created the big bang
Stephen Hawking, the very popular and immensely respected astronomer from Cambridge University, agrees. He says, “Almost everyone believes that the universe, and time itself, had a beginning.” [Stephen Hawking and Roger Penrose, The Nature of Space and Time, The Isaac Newton Institute Series of Lectures (Princeton: Princeton University Press, 1996), p. 20.]

That’s interesting. This is in perfect harmony with what the Bible says (in the very first verse!)…

Genesis 1:1
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

The Bible makes it very clear that the universe actually had a beginning, exactly like the scientific community has discovered–more than 3,000 years after Moses penned those words.

People are attacked for believing in Santa Claus, but it's socially accepted to believe in religion? You can't dismiss science because the evidence is right there in your face, you can only dismiss theories with lack of evidence, which scientists themselves will do.

Because the purpose of life isn't to walk in a straight line if that was so we all would be perfect.

More Rhetorical than anything my question. The point being that it serves no purpose to give us a reason not to believe. I understand your comment about because every person has the ability to chose their own line but my point stands with barriers in which we live.

If God has given us the ability to not believe then why aren't the lines of actual reality blurred. If he exists why did God build physical barriers to our existance? Why did he create morals and Judgement? in effect if you take a wider view, we live in the numerous boundaries of Human Life. So he gave us the ability to prove gravity, or to breathe air, or base the whole physical world on carbon, as examples but didn't give us the ability to prove his existance in how many Million years?

And we discussed 3-4 theories about what came before the big bang. Show me where I said the big bang was the first thing.

But Santa Claus is a fairy tale made up by Parents for christmas and commercialised, to compare Santa Claus to Religion is pathetic comparision.

Show me the evidence to differentiate between accepting religion and Santa Claus. It's a fine comparison since the exact same evidence explains both of them. Tell me why it's fine to dismiss Santa Claus and not religion.
