Tough Month For Price As Questions Start To Be Asked

After an impressive start to the season for United they have slowly been in decline for a couple of months now, culminating in 2 league losses to vital opposition over this month. With just the one win during the month questions have already started to be asked as to whether Price is ready for this job yet.

Premier league

7.11.15
Manchester United 0 Tottenham 1

Another blank for Manchester United and a disasterous result against their top of the table rivals. Price will need to turn this slump around soon before its too late.

21.11.15
Manchester City 1 Manchester United 0

Things just get worse at the moment for Manchester United as they lose to a 95th minute goal from Eriksen. Price is certainly starting to sweat at this early stage of the season with the gap increasing at the top of the league.

28.11.15
Wolverhampton Wanderers 0 Manchester United 1
Johnson(OG)'
50

United record a well overdue win against opposition they would be expected to beat by more. The most important thing for Price on this day however is that his team finally pick up three points.

Champions League

3.11.15
Manchester United 0 SL Benfica 0

Another frustrating night for Price and Manchester United with the game posing more questions than it answered. Once again the squad rotation didnt work and United went away with lessn than three points.

25.11.15
Manchester United 1 Fenerbahce 1
Tiago'53

Yet another failure to win at home for United as they struggle to get out of their group in the Champions league. A change of formation didnt see the team play any better and Price is now searching for ways to improve their form

January Cant Come Soon Enough For United

Yet another tough month for United sees them drift to 6th in the league and 8 points off the pace. Price's position at the club is already being questioned as they lose twice in an 8 game month. United need to strengthen the squad in January if they want to rescue the season.

Premier league

5.12.15
Manchester United 1 Hull City 1

Tiago'44

United pay the price for ill discipline as Zouma sees red after 70 minutes and Hull City equalise in the 93rd. United need to stop the bad run before the league runs completely away from them and Price now needs to be fearing for his job.

12.12.15
Burnley 1 Manchester United 1
Damiao'20

Another Poor performance in the league after returning from Europe. Damiao did however end his goal drought and United looked alot stronger playing a 4-1-2-1-2. Price will hope turning down a jon offer from Barcelona will help raise his teams spirits.

16.12.15
Manchester United 3 Fulham 1
Neymar'37, Jones'45+1, Rooney'79

United will be glad that they have finally recorded a league win at the third attempt this month. They really did look like a strong outfit today with Fulham's only goal coming as a result of United pressing for more goals.

22.12.15
Stoke City 0 Manchester United 0

A result that will upset the United manager as they had a 15th minute goal chalked off incorrectly for offside. However another example of their dominance not being rewarded as they drop another two points.

27.12.15
Manchester United 3 Swansea 1
Rooney'6, Damiao'7, Pogba'72

Vital win for United with Tottenham slipping up this weekend and Swansea being above them in the league. This was the real Manchester United, strong at the back, quick out the blocks and irresistable up front.

30.12.15
Arsenal 7 Manchester United 2
Rooney'23, Damiao'86

United were well and truly battered today by a brilliant Jack Wilshere who bagged a hat-trick. The lowest point of Price's season and managerial career to date.

Capital One Cup

1.12.15
Manchester City 2 Manchester United 0

A competition that Price probably wont lose sleep for exiting. A young United side met a strong City side and the scoreline was probably how you would expect it. United need to start winning games soon though.

Champions League

8.12.15
Shakhtar 0 Manchester United 2
Sigurdsson'42, Neymar'57

United finally pull out a convincing performance to qualify from their group stage comfortably in the end having won 2 and drawn 4 of their group games. Could this be where they start to turn the dip in form around?

I know, not as easy as winning everything with Porto, bit of a rude awakening. But its January, started the monthwell with 2 wins and moulding the team to how i want it.

Man United VS Real Madrid
Champions League 1st Knockout Round

Manchester United will take their stuttering squad to the Bernebau during the course of a tricky champions league 1st knockout round tie with Real Madrid. The tie will also see them come up against former player Cristiano Ronaldo who has gone on to be one of the best players in the world. Pundits see this tie as a straight forward one for Real as United's current form is surprisingly bad for such an iconic team.

United Revamped and Reinvigerated

John Price used January to show that he has not lost his touch in the Transfer market with a number of rather savvy signings from Europe. This resulted in United recording 6 straight wins with the only negative being a loss in their last game of the month. The rest of the season will hopefully be a little brighter for United now Price is happy with the shape of his team.

Premier League

6.1.16
Liverpool 0 Manchester United 1
Rooney'48

Vital win over United's bitter rivals shows that they really do mean business this month with their second straight win with their second straight clean sheet. With Ademilson making his debut Price will be looking to add more depth to his squad this month.

9.1.16
Manchester United 5 Wigan 0
Rooney'17, Kagawa'21, Vidic'32, Neymar'45+1, Jones'81

A massive win for United, not just in the scoreline but this is their third straight clean sheet win this month. With 5 different scorers it was a good day for United.

17.1.16
QPR 1 Manchester United 3
Neymar'16, Jones'87, Zouma'90+4

United make it 4 wins in 4 this month with a late show against bottom of the table QPR. The gap at the top of the table is decreasing slowly now and with the signings of Lopez and Grenier United are looking stronger.

27.1.16
Manchester United 1 Chelsea 0
Tiago'79

United will count themselves a little lucky in this game with Chelsea having a perfectly good goal ruled out after 90 minutes but they will take it. They did deserve the win after limiting Chelsea to just 2 chances in the entire game.

30.1.16
West Brom 3 Manchester United 2
Rooney'35, Lopez'38

The month didnt end in the way Price would have liked it to with their first loss of the month. The loss will be attributed to their inability to defend their area giving away two penalties in the first half which Shane Long made no mistake in converting.

FA Cup

3.1.16
Fulham 0 Manchester United 2
Damiao'28 '59

leandro damiao shows new boy Ademilson what he will need to compete with in order to grab a starting spot at United with a vintage display in the FA Cup. United start the month off in a strong way with this rofessional performance.

23.1.16
Manchester United 3 Watford 0
Zouma'3, Florenzi'30, Kagawa'89

United fielded two of their new signings with Florenzi scoring a brilliant goal on his debut. Price seems a lot happier with the shape of his squad now and will be hoping to continue this form through the rest of the month.

Player Of The Month

After a month or two of no award for player of the month Price decided to reward Thiago for his recent great form over the last month. The midfielder has had to adapt to his new role at the heart of the United midfield and has done so with no quarms.

Price Puts Stamp On Squad To Improve Form

View attachment 311807View attachment 311808View attachment 311814View attachment 311810View attachment 311812

John Price wasted no time when the January transfer window opened by adding 5 new signings to his suad in the first two weeks. His former FC Porto player Ademilson was signed in October for a fee of £15,000,000 and joined the club on the first day of the window. Price clearly felt the midfield area of his team needed work as he signed Grenier for five and a half million pounds from Olymipc Lyonais, Grenier was 6 months away from the end of his contract and Price moved fast to ensure the price was right as he felt he couldnt wait until July for him.

Price signed two players from Italy in Alessandro Florenzi and Nicolas Lopez, the two players cost a combined fee of £15,500,000 and both signed 4 year deals with their new clubs. The final signing was Martin Kelly from Arsenal for five and a half million adding cover to both full back positions. Price is said to be happy with the squad he has at his disposal now and this was shown in the month of january with their form improving greatly. Lopez and Florenzi both opened their accounts for the club in their first month.

Leaving the club this month was Cabaye and Sigurdsson for a combined fee of £30,000,000 due to the fact the two players were not happy at the club.

United Dig Deep to Cut The Gap

A near perfect month for Manchester United in February saw them advance in the FA Cup and cut the gap dramatically in the league. These two came as a result of Totenhams poor form during the month as United knocked them out of the cup and took advantage of their poor league form to cut the gap to the leaders considerably. It seems that Price's side have finally found the formula they need to possibly take the league title at his first try.

Premier League

3.2.16
Manchester United 1 Newcastle United 0
Grenier'73

Not exactly a brilliant performance from United but they got the job done which is an improvement from earlier in the season. Grenier notching up his first goal for the club to decide a close game against the toon.

6.2.16
Cardiff City 0 Manchester United 3
Damiao'28, Ademilson'40, Lopez'90+1

The most complete performance we have seen from United in a long time. Strong defensively with that killer instinct up front. Even with Rooney ans Neymar on the sidelines they had more than enough class to overpower Cardiff and continue their impressive current form.

27.2.16
Manchester United 2 Southampton 1
Damiao'12, Thiago'74

Manchester United end the month the same way in which they started it, winning! A habit it seems that Price's team are starting to repeat over and over again. Since the turn of the year they have only failed to win twice and in doing so they have thrown the league right open.

FA Cup

13.2.16
Tottenham Hotspurs 2 Manchester United 4
Grenier'17, Kagawa'70, Damiao'86, Bartlett'90+3

The performance of the season from United, even with a few key players rested ahead of the the Real Madrid game they managed to outclass Tottenham with style. Young Englishmna Bartlett scores his first goal for the club at the age of 18. United really showed Spurs that they mean business.

Champions League

16.2.16
Manchester United 0 Real Madrid 1

United will not be relishing the prospect of going to the bernebau and having to win now that they lost the home leg. Quite how they lost the game however is a mystery as they dominated the game but just couldnt score.

Player Of The Month

Uniteds new French midfielder Clement Grenier takes the plaudits this month after a string of good performances culminating in 2 goals and a number of assists. The frenchman is proving a real bargain for United as he controls the centre of midfield for them.

Any opinions on signings, form etc.. would be great, Not had much feedback on my story since i went to United.

United Continue Fine Form in 2016

John Price clearly seems to have found that magic touch that took Porto to European glory last year again as he masterminds possibly his best ever night in Europe against Real Madrid. With 3 wins and 3 draws during the month United are still challenging in the League, FA cup and champions league. Price's first season at United could still finish on a high after all.

Premier League

6.3.16
Aston Villa 1 Manchester United 1
Damiao'78

United were unlucky not to take all three points on the road to Villa. They had the majority of the game and the better chances but a late equaliser meant that a draw was the best Price's men would get.

12.3.16
Tottenham 0 Manchester United 0

United will probably take this draw against the top of the table team. It keeps them in the title chase when a loss would probably have seen them out of it. Uniteds end to the season is a lot harder then Spurs however so a win here would have helped their cause no end.

16.3.16
Manchester United 4 Norwich City 0
Bartlett'17, Zouma'29,'81, Neymar'65

Easy, thats the only way to describe this encounter. United took charge of the game in the first half hour and never let go of it. Kurt Zouma is proving a real handful for defences this season with another two goals today. This result means the top 3 are covered by just one point for the next 24 hours.

Champions league

9.3.16
Real Madrid 1 Manchester United 2
Huddlestone'14, Lopez'90
(United win on away goals)

Manchester United will count this up there with one of their greatest ever wins, along side that night in Turin on their way to the '99 Champions league title. It looked like their hard work would be undone after Higuain equalised on 85 minutes but United's never say die attitude means they progress in this competition.

30.3.16
Manchester United 1 Marseille 0
Damiao'4

A strong performance from United getting the job done at home. Now they need to go and be professional in France and they could be looking at a semi final against none other than FC Porto.

FA Cup

19.3.16
Arsenal 2 Manchester United 2
Ademilson'78, Rooney'89(Pen)

Two nil down with 15 minutes to go and it felt a little like deja Vu for United being outclassed by Arsenal again. But this time United had a little more resolve about them and showed great spirit and determination to ensure they got a replay at Old Trafford

Player Of The Month

Another fine month for Kurt Zouma see's the young centre back establish himself as the first name on the team sheet for Price. The Frenchman seems to be growing as a footballer under the managers leadership and looks set to be a solid United player for years to come.

Price will come up against some of the great players he brpught to the club including Destro and Gotze and will be hoping they dont come back to haunt him.

United Make Hay In The Cups

In a tough 9 game month for United it was the cup competitions that gave them the greatest satisfaction. The club advanced to the final of both the FA cup and the champions league during the month after semi final wins against Liverpool and Porto respectively. United only won 4 of the 9 games over the month, drawing the same amount in the process. Its believed that Price sees the fact his team is drawing to many games is the reason the league could be out of their reach.

Premier League

2.4.16
Fulham 1 Manchester United 1
Grenier '1

United started this game well but couldnt hold on to secure a vital win. Grenier once again providing the cutting edge for the club he signed for 4 months ago. United will be happy that it isnt a defeat and that they can keep the pressure on City who now top the league.

9.4.16
Manchester United 3 Wolverhampton Wanderers 0

Damiao '21, Jones '24, Rooney '50

A much needed win for United that sees them keep the gap to City down to 5 points. A reasonably straight forward display by yhe devils as they all but knocked the stuffing out of their opponents in the first half hour.

23.4.16
Manchester United 2 Burnley 0
Kagawa '60, '75

A lackluster first half was improved in a 15 minute spell of the second during which Japanese midfielder Kagawa scored twice to seal all three points for United and keep at least a little pressure on City.

30.4.16
Liverpool 1 Manchester United 1
Kagawa '69

The first of three big league games in 5 days saw United take a hard earned draw away to Liverpool in a game that could so easily have gone either way. Kagawa continued his fine form with yet another goal making it 5 for the month. United stay in touvh in the league but a win for City in the weekend big manchester derby will see the league be decided.

Champions League

5.4.16
Quarter Final Second Leg
Marseille 2 Manchester United 2
Kagawa '4, Lopez '75

United do more than enough against Marseille to reach the semi final of the Champions League. And who else could they possibly be playing in the next round than FC Porto, the team that Price left in the summer to take up the helm at United. This is one semi final i can not wait to see.

19.4.16
Semi Final First Leg
Porto 1 Manchester United 0

A narrow defeat at the hands of his old employers in the first leg of this tie gives United a chance of advancing through the home leg. The lack of an away goal however could prove to be the stumbling block for United. Porto missed a penalty in the game that could have seen the tie all but over.

27.4.16
Semi Final Second Leg
Manchester United 1 Porto 0 (1-1 on aggregate AET)
(United win 5-4 on Penalties)
Neymar '58

An absolutely dominant performance by United on the statistics board but no the scoreline. With 40 shots to Port's 5 United should have easily won the tie in normal time but instead had to rely on a penalty shootout to advance to Price's second successive final.

FA Cup

13.4.16
Quarter Final
Manchester United 1 Arsenal 0
Zouma '17

United showed that the big loss to Arsenal earlier in the season hasnt affected them and this result will go some way to showing that they are a team to be reckoned with in this competition this season. With two semi finals now this season its looking good for United.

17.4.16
Semi Final
Liverpool 1 Manchester United 1
(United win on panalties)
Kagawa '32

Price takes his united side to his first final at wembley in the FA cup after a penalty shootout win over liverpool. Price will consider his team lucky to be in the final however as Liverpool dominated the majority of the game and had the chances to put the game beyong United.

View attachment 312119View attachment 312120

Player Of The Month

With Clement Grenier impressing everyone since his arrival in January its been difficult for other midfielders to stand out at United. But this month Kagawa showed that he has the quality to demand a first team spot with 5 goals over the course of the month. The Japanese midfielder has been in great form for United giving Price a nice selection dilemma.

Half way through the month of April, 2 semi finals and an outside chance of the league. Getting Porto was destiny im convinced!

i'm still reading. Great job so far with utd.
Has porto done a lot of transfers since you are gone? or is it still the same team you won everything with?

Toloi has been their only main signing really. The team that got to the semi final against me was mainly my Champions league winning team, still quality.

Heartbreak For United

Manchester United felt the heartbreak of losing a major cup final this month after losing to Bayern Munich in the champions league final. The result was their only loss in 6 games this month which also included a win in the FA cup final. Overall Price will see the season as a good debut in the Premier league and a nice basis to build for the future with the club.

Premier league

2.5.16
Manchester United 1 Manchester City 1
Smalling '61

The two Manchester Clubs couldnt be seperated during this title deciding game with City lifting the Premier league title. United never really had control of the match and the result probably reflects the way in which the game went. Orice wont be happy that he didnt claim the league title at his first attempt.

4.5.16
Swansea 1 Manchester United 1
Vorm(OG) '56

In a dress rehearsal for Sundays FA Cup final United left out the majority of their first team players and it showed with them struggling to pull out a draw. Although they created the larger amount of chances the finishing on display was sub standard and Price will not be happy with the back-up brigade.

11.5.16
Hull City 0 Manchester United 2
Bartlett '24, Lopez '81

A pretty straight forward win for the United 'back-up brigade' as they have been dubbed. Hull City offered very little in the way of attacks and United made the most of the vital moments in the game.

15.5.16
Manchester United 3 Stoke City 1
Lopez '36, Bartlett '40, Evra '59

After an early scare united went on to dominate the game and win with energy to spare. United made no changes from the Hull City game which clearly shows that Price wants to rest his big names with the big final coming up. The game means United secure the runner up spot in the League, a good basis for Price to build from next season.

FA Cup

7.5.16
Final
Manchester United 2 Swansea 0 (AET)
Florenzi '110, '117

Not the most electric final in recent history but Price will enjoy the victory with his team tonight. It took nearly two hours for the deadlock to be broken when Florenzi scored the first of his two extra time goals. This is Price's first major trophy with United and he will be hoping they can add to it later on in the month against Bayern.

Champions League

21.5.16
Final
Manchester United 0 Bayern 1

Price feels the heartbreak of defeat in the champions league final. What makes things worse is that in an otherwise unremarkable final the only goal came from a penalty hat should never have been. Schweinsteiger clearly dived to win a penalty which he himslf converted at the second time of asking. United will be gutted about the defeat but may use this memory to launch another attack on the competition next season.
