Let the Right one in: 8.4/10:

This was a very different movie, I was wanting to see it after I read about the director and heard/read good things about the film, there is no action scenes, no hollywood stunts etc, its a Scandanavian film with beautiful cinemetography and the story line is simple but has many layers to it. things unfold nicely and timely and is dark and grimm at the same time!

I watched the English dubbed version and I must say the voice overs were quite pathetic and took away from the whole experience. which was sad! I wish I had gotten the original one with subtitles!

This movie is not going to blow your socks off with special effects like some guy turning into a wolf dog :P or glowing silver in the light, its a real, dark vampire movie, which barely even feels like one, its weird, hard to explain, but a must watch!

I watched this a while back, not the dubbed version though, subtitled. I can imagine how the dubbing would take away from it a bit. Enjoyed the film, as you said not alot really *happens* for a film but the atmosphere is brilliant. The pool part is pretty cool too ;)
 
the voice acting sounded like little fairy girls for all the boys and I don't think the dialogue was translated correctly.. there were a lot of moans and groans and the teacher guy sounded like a retarded pedophile.
 
Prometheus: 3/10: Actually maybe even 1/10! I was so looking forward to this movie, I had no mindset about Aliens (Ridley Scott) or any preconceived idea's before watching it, I was looking forward to a good action/thriller/horror etc film.. the acting was pathetic (shame on you Charlize and Naomi) for taking these roles and the movie was as boring as watching paint dry! No story line to speak of, no memorable moments, special effects were ****, just pointless and pathetic!

Magic Mike: 5/10: Not a bad movie, some laughs here and there but nothing special...

Yeah I've really heard bad things about Prometheus. For an important mission that was full of handpicked scientists as the crew they were all apparently complete morons.

Honestly, do not waste your time! its rated as 7.5 on IMDb so I thought that even though all the reviews are just as **** as mine, some people must have thought it was brilliant and went on that, think there were over like 140k votes.. so on average it should be good!

well its not! plain and simple! its pathetic!
 
Couple of follow ups:

Prometheus is indeed garbage, I'm a bit late on this one I realise, but compared to the original Alien films this was pathetic - the dialogue was thrown together, the storyline is laughable, and Scott managed to make all the characters so unlikeable it's hard to care about the characters being harmed when you think they're all fools anyway.

I did manage to catch Taking Chance with Kevin Bacon, playing an "escort" for a dead soldier's body coming home to his family. Very powerful film. Not big on the fighting or explosions, this is a film which explores loss, honour, the unwritten contract between a country and its' soldiers. I expected nothing when I saw this, but would happily recommend it after seeing it.
 
We Need to talk about Kevin: 8.2/10: A great movie, very disturbing, very, very well acted and brilliantly composed.. the bacl and forth of the characters lives etc was done brilliantly... A must see!
 
The Mist
I watched it because the director is the same as in Shawshank redemption and Green mile so i wondered if he could do well in the horror genre . Turned out a really good movie,decent scare factor, typical ending for his movies, theme and plot kinda Hitchcock like, nicely acted, 1 supporting female especially
 
Watched VHS last night. Scared and amazed the **** out of me. The movie is really good, and it's pretty unique.

About Excision, it's worth watching just for for her. Well, if movie is good, then I'm amazed :)
 
Watched 50 50. Have to say I was really apprehensive about a comedy about cancer due to personal reasons, but glad I did. Tremondous film, with great performances by all involved. Doesn't force any sentimentality, no sugar coating the issue or anything. Just a tremondous film, with some laugh out loud bits with enough welling up moments,and it'll definately stay in your mind. Fantastic film.

Watched this a couple of weeks ago, a bit gushy in parts but is worth a watch, wouldn't give it a 10/10 maybe at best 7.5/10.

Writing this know and I cant remember how it ended so not a movie that sticks in your mind which is how I would rate a 9/10, 10/10 film.

Another film I watched at around the same time which I would give a 9/10 is God Bless America, this is a must watch film if only to get people to see how our world is turning out to be a selfish and uncaring world. For a fictional film this is one of the most thought provoking and self analyzing films of the decade.
 
50/50 is a good film, Gordon Levitt is a great actor! 7.8/10

That's my Boy 5.9/10: Funny in parts, Adam Sandler's accent voice was a bit annoying, had a good cast but could have been better and Andy Samberg is funny as **** as always!
 
Just seen Killer Elite. Nothing special. Sort of film to pass the time-pretty forgettable. 6/10
 
Ted: 7.2/10: Was hoping for a much funnier movie as Seth McFarlane is one of the most talented people on the planet in my eyes.. Mark was funny and I enjoyed it but did not love it!

Airplane: 7.5/10: I thought this was really funny! First spoof comedy, was the catalyst for a whole genre of movies! "Clarence, clearance, Clarence" hahaha
 
Skyfall: 4/10

The first hour was good, but after that the film became....and this is the only was i can describe it.....not a james bond film. The last hour and a half had neither the style or feel that any other james bond film has given, including Casino Royal or Quantum of Solice.

I wanted to watch a james bond film but instead i watched half a james bond film and the rest was a cross between, strangely, Home Alone, a semi erotic gay *****, Rocky Balboa and Emmerdale with an action twist, amongst other random things. Wierdly reminded me of the X-Files too in how it was shot.

Without any spoilers, the bad guy could of done exactly what his main goal was at any point in the film or even before that, on his own, without the need for anything or anyone helping him. There was absolutely no point in him doing ANY of the things he did! NONE AT ALL!!!!

I'd watch this film again to fully grasp how bad i thought it was, but I wouldnt buy it on DVD.

Everyone will watch it because its James Bond, same as me.

It only got a 4/10 becasue of the first hour. A BIG let down for me
