Yes, get a move on guys! Oh wait, with a 0-0, Scandinavia win our game? ^^ Don't play guys!! :P

Actually, points would be shared, it's one a piece currently. GD only comes into play for table standings, not to resolve rounds.

Awwh, allright then. Pat, we didn't name you honorary Scandinavian to muck about. Get moving and beat your ex-countryman!

Should it be a 0-0, all 6 teams that have played have 1 point from round 1. Nice and close really.

Disco and I might be able to play some time in the next few hours, if that's not too late?

Scandinavia clinch series in controversial fashion

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez cancelled out Santi Cazorla's sublime opener as Scandinavia cruised to victory against Ireland in the third and final match. A sensational display by the Irish back four of Gianluigi Buffon, Left Post, Right Post and Cross Bar kept the Scandinavians at bay early, and prevented them from extending their lead, ensuring they could never rest on their laurels.

The key talking point from the match, however, was the apparent failure of the Irish Assistant Manager, Brendan Rodgers, to follow the instructions of his Head Coach, Matt Smith. Having submitted their lineups, Smith found he was unable to access the ground, as security guards - paid off, no doubt, by mobster-turned-manager Alexei Ivanov - refused him entry, claiming that he "couldn't possibly be the Irish manager because he was too tall and didn't have a case of beer with him."

So despite his tactical plans, Rodgers lined the Irish up in a flat 4-4-2, with Buffon in goals rather than Courtois - though Buffon more than justified that particular decision. It was a late decision that courted the most controversy, however. Facing a 2-1 deficit, Rodgers decided it was time to go for broke, and introduced legendary right winger Seamus Coleman at the expense of Thomas Muller. The Scandinavians were lucky to escape unscathed, as for the first time in his career, Coleman failed to score after being introduced as an attacking substitute from the bench (0 from 1).

It was left to Buffon, the Post twins and Cross Bar to keep the scoreline respectable for the Irish, and they did well, Right Post and Buffon combining in one memorable instance with a clever one-two (Right Post to Buffon and back to Right Post, before Buffon scooped up the return pass).

Scandinavian Manager Ibrahimovic indicated that he was more than prepared to accept a rematch rather than take the result of a somewhat farcical match as final, but Matt Smith was off to polish off the beers he forgot to bring to the game. Latest reports suggest he's already halfway through!

As suggested, what happened was that after we submitted lineups, Disco found that he got kicked out of the game and could only get back in as a spectator. We decided we'd held the FM Base Internationals up long enough as it was, and didn't have time to restart everything, so we let the match play out and took this result, even though it was essentially an AI controlled Ireland team. I left tactics as they were and only made substitutions, to try to restore some equality. Thanks to Disco for an enjoyable chat while we both watched the match unfold.

Stupid Rogers :P After getting kicked from the game, my tactics and team selection was restored to default....in saying that though Buffon was outstanding! I'm happy to let the result stand; It was an entertaining match and we had a good laugh, I enjoyed it.

Amusing that The AI manager took off Muller and put on Coleman at right wing....has to go down as Sub of the competition so far!

I don't know, my 26th min substitution of Fabregas has to be up there. Something Chelsea should take note of really as well..

Taking off Messi for Shane Long in my game, with Long completely dominating the proceedings from then on. Probably the most positive one so far! (I didn't do it though :()

I replaced Eden Hazard wit Mathew Leckie. Talk about destroying a man's confidence! :P

Shane is player of the round after being 10x better than Messi

R2: Australia v Scandinavia

Australia have defeated Scandinavia in the first game of Round Two.

It was a very even encounter and was only decided in the last few moments of the game.

A star studded Scandinavia who had the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic took on the Australians who had the likes of Luis Suarez and Paul Pogba in their ranks the game was set to be an instant classic!

The first few minutes Australia had a golden opportunity with Mile Jedinak missing from close close range. The Aussies were at it again when Luis Suarez's free kick hit the crossbar. The Scandinavians we also unfortunate with a header hitting the bar.

Not a lot happened apart from that in the first half.

Half Time: Australia 0 - 0 Scandinavia

In the second half both managers tinkered with their tactics and it was back on. Again not a lot of highlights some near misses but nothing to much to talk about. The last moments of the match is the real talking point so I've skipped right to it (Can't think of anything that needs to be addressed tbh.) a big ball played to substitute Diego Costa who in turn sent it long over to now winger Luis Suarez. Suarez ran down the wing took a shot from just inside the box into the bottom right corner Scandinavia goalkeeper David De Gea was onto it and then spilled it into his own net! Dramatic scenes to finish the match and Australia go 1-0 up over Scandinavia.

Full Time: Australia 1 - 0 Scandinavia
