Aztecas have a 3 point lead with 5 games to go at the top of La Liga. They also boast the league’s most potent attack and sternest defence and have dropped just 7 points at home this season, with one loss.

Galacticos’ season seems to be over already with 5th place looking to be the best position they can finish in.

The early pressure was all from Aztecas and it paid off as a good Lloris save in the Galacticos goal fell to Ashley Young who powered home the rebound and Aztecas looked to be already on their way to victory with 8 minutes gone. But Galacticos won’t go away that easily and Cavani shot straight at Neuer from 6 yards when it looked easier to score and Reyes did the same 2 minutes later. Galacticos were now the side on top but a moment of magic from that man, Young, as he slotted a freekick right into the top corner on 38 minutes to put Aztecas two goals to the good at half time. Galacticos started the second half the better team and Skrtel powered a header off the bar and Vidal shot wide. But again Aztecas were the team to make the most of their chance as Hulk blasted into the bottom corner from the edge of the box to seal the win for Aztecas with a full half an hour remaining…this could get embarrassing. Young nearly completed his hat trick from range but his shot sailed just wide in the last minute. But aztecas sealed the 3 points and now look favourites for the league titl

3 minutes in and the first chance of the match was converted by Everton’s Bale after just 4 minutes after Ganso’s exquisite ball through. Newcastle’s response was immediate but neymar fired straight at ter Stegen before Steve Mandanda, Newcastle’s goalkeeper unluckily put through his own net to make it 2-0 Everton. Credit to Newcastle though as they continued to play their game and create a couple of half chances but Everton just looked too strong for them. In the 42nd minute, Newcastle scored a deserved goal after Neymar beat Otamendi for pace and slotted calmly into the corner. Everton seemed to them bounce back into life as Rooney’s shot produced a great save from Mandanda as he looked to make up for his o.g. The 2nd half began and it was all Everton who exposed Newcastle’s weaknesses in defence as panicky clearances fell to Everton players time and again, some producing good saves and some flashing inches wide. Newcastle centre back Mangane then needlessly gave the ball away to Rooney just inside the Everton half, Rooney drove forward, held the ball up and laid off to Montillo who easily dribbled passed Mangane to fire into the top corner; 3-1 and well deserved! Everton have played some fantastic football today and fashioned more and more chances and were unfortunate not to score any more as the game finished in a win for the Blues.

This could be a massive game that may well decide who will win the title this year. Inter look favourite but this game will decide whether there will be one or two teams challenging them.

The Romans are the outsiders for the title from the three teams challenging and they need a win today for any hope of staying in the title race.

Pennarossa will draw level on points with Inter at the top of the table with a win today

The game started at a frantic pace with Naldo going close for The Romans and Toure fired just over from 35 yards, all within the first minute! Pennarossa started to get into their rhythm and Hernandez shot straight at Akinfeev with 5 minutes gone. And that’s how the half went, it was all Pennarossa from then on. Hernandez and Toure producing good saves from Akinfeev but to be fair to The Romans, they were defending very well and limiting the chances Pennarossa had. The Romans, on the other hand, just couldn’t get the ball forward and they looked most likely to score from set pieces as Jaaskelainen pulled off a good save from Naldo’s header. But that was it, half time. The Romans started the second half well, controlling possession better and Higuain went close after a run at the Pennarossa defence. Both defences were showing their mean streak until a huge talking point in the match. Pennarossa’s right back Srna sent off for a dangerous, high, late, two footed lunge from behind on Frank Lampard after 70 minutes. Definatly a red card in anyones books. But Pennarossa knew what a win would mean today and continued to look for the win, Yaya Toure working Akinfeev with a header. But The Romans showed they wanted the win too and Silva’s delivery on corners caused all sorts of problems as Ferdinand and Khedira went very very close to opening the scoring with headers. And it was Silva’s freekick delivery that broke the deadlock on 81 minutes. He curled a lovely ball in for Sagna, who rose highest to put his header in off the post. 1-0 The Romans! All The Romans had to do now was play Pennarossa at their own game and stay sturdy at the back for a clean sheet, and they did just that. Khedira was lucky not to be sent off in stoppage time for The Romans after a bad foul while on a yellow card. As the final whistle blows there is jubilation in The Romans camp and all the Pennarossa fans will point to the referee for that red card. But when they look at a replay I’m sure they’d have to agree that Srna has been a very silly boy and has let his team down massively.

2 minutes in and Aztecas backup goalkeeper Edel, in today for the injured Neuer, produce a fine save to deny Gervinho after a powerful run. Despite this early chance, the game never really seemed to get going. That was until the 20th minute where two minutes of end to end football happened. The ball literally going for chance to chance at each end, 3 shots each in 2 minutes! Crazy not to see a goal. But then a big decision for the referee. Espanyol’s Coentrao drifted past Dani Alves in the 27th minute, but the referee noticed a shirt pull from the defender inside the area. Replays are inconclusive the Espanyol players were certainly unhappy at the decision, given by a referee a full 25 yards from the incident. Dzeko lined up the penalty and coolly sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, although it wasn’t the best penalty in the world. That goal put Espanyol on a real high and 3 minutes later it was 2. Coentrao with a fantastic freekick into the top corner sent the Espanyol fans wild. 36th minute and Fellaini goes up for a head at an Aztecas corner and is adjudged to have been pushed by Howedes! It’s a penalty for Aztecas! Maybe the ref was just trying to even things up? Hulk stepped up and scored! 1-1. But Espanyol weren’t done yet as Gervinho crashed a freekick against the bar right on the halftime whistle. A cagey start to the 2nd half with no chances until Hulk flashed one just past the post on 58 minutes for Aztecas. 4 minutes later and Espanyol’s Ozil finds himself through on goal…he beats the keeper!! 3-1…no….wait…the linesman has his flag up. It’s offside! But replays show it was on! But on 65 minutes there was no denying this goal as Dzeko tapped a rebound into an open net to give Espanyol another goal. But on 68 minutes Aztecas were nearly back into it as Young fired wide from 6 yards. This game is now really open. Hulk nearly doubling his account but denied by Edel in the Aztecas goal. Sahin firing just over for Aztecas a minute later and then his long range drive pulled a fantasic one handed save from Espanyol keeper De Gea. For the last 10 minutes Espanyol looked to defend their lead and hit Aztecas on the counter, and with three minutes to go it paid dividends as a quick break up the left found Ozil in space to fire home from 8 yards with just 3 minutes to go. It was the icing on the cake for espanyol as they take away a fantastic victory. Coentrao and Dzeko were incredible today! On the other hand, have Aztecas hit the wall in their chase for the title?

well its looking good for most and bad for others. What do you all think will happen now the season is nearly over for our teams?

United and Chelsea... are you ******* kidding me?!?

At least we have CL footy :)

However, just worked out, IF I beat United, we win the title :D

You haven't won yet mate :) And take that 4-1 beating as a preview of next season; then it'll be my turn to win the league :)

As a side note, pretty good first season, finishing in the top three and getting CL footy next season, not too shabby

Had my back up goaile on mate :P

i acnnot believe the lack of discipline srna has shown recently, getting sent off against both of the other btc clubs in our league. although now the title is inter milan's to throw away and my prediction might actually come true.

is there any chance we can see the remaining fixtures of the other teams in title contention?
