Would start new save mate. Tried for a season but seem to loose quite alot more games i think flat 442 is very incosistent tactic in fm12 due to the AI or somethin

I have found that to be the general consensus amongst most. Anyway, ill be giving this a try. thanks mate!

everyone is praising this tactic for consistent results, i must be doing something very wrong.

Im playing as SIK in danish d1 and my results are just sooooooo inconsistent its untrue. 1st season, by xmas was 1st, not smashing everyone but holding my own, after xmas, nothing changed, yet i lost about 9 in a row and dropped to finish 9th, out of 12!!

just cannot understand what im doing wrong

Do you have fast forwards and wingers? its absolutely vital.

Started a new save with chelsea using the 4231 and following the instructions you provided.
Line up:

GK Cech
DR Ivanovic
DC Luiz
DC Terry
DL Cole
CM Miereles
CM Lampard
AMR Ramires (Having to retrain him there but he is quick enough)
AMC Mata
AML Muniain
FC Torres

Seems balanced enough, and in fact, a very good team :)

Good morning JP.
Very nice tactic but i think you have to change the pitch size and the match preparation cause is not working very well with small pitch size and attacking movement.
Thanks

Works brilliant for me.

Thanks JP Woody for this tactic, I came 9th with Swansea in my first season! Maybe it was Sigurðsson being just that good in the trequartista role. Although I've converted the AML as an inside forward.

Now going into 12/13 with this squad:

GK: Michel Vorm/José Moreira
LB: Jack Robinson (loan)/Federico Bessone
CB: Boilesen/Darnel Situ
CB: Williams/Alan Tate
RB: Rangel/Daniel Alfei

CM: Felipe Anderson/Tom Cairney
AMC: Erick Torres/Andre Orlandi
CM: Leon Britton/Ashley Richards

AML: Sinclair/Wayne Routledge
ST: Yaya Sanogo/Nathan Delfouneso
AMR: Dyer/Wayne Routledge

Downloaded it to give it a bash, saved it into the tactics folder. But when I try to use it in FM it says 'The file could not be imported'.

If you downloaded Jp's latest version then it's a .rar file which you need to extract into your tactics folder.

Finished my first season using JP 4-4-2 tactic!

I have to say this is the best tactit i have ever used! My team is Athletic Bilbao... i cannot buy players if they are not basque, so u can imagine that its a good team to test a tactic.

The predict for my team was to be in 8º place!

I finished second, and won the spanish cup.View attachment 243031View attachment 243032View attachment 243033

Thanks Jo for sharing this tactic...

JP, quick question, what training schedule do you use.. both with 442 & 4231?

Cheers

Just default training really. I get good coaches is each area then auto assign the players schedule.

first of all im loving the 442, but just wondered how you came about settling on the roles and duty s you selected? i have tried most combinations of roles and duty's and have never created anything as good as this so just wondered if you tried loads before getting it right and what the thinking was behind the roles you chose?

To get the best out of the corner routine make sure your left winger takes them. Ive found it gets the most goals.

errm did you SEE me post JP?

Sorry i never actually.

I tend to have a rule when making attacking tactics to have 3 defensive players, 2 supporting players and 5 attacking players or 2 defensive 6 support and 2 attack. Once id decided to go 3-2-5 the roles where mainly ones ive always found work best through trial and error. Back 4 speaks for its self. All good teams have a hard man so went for a BWM. I find a attacking CM works better than a Advanced play-maker. Wingers are better than wide mfs if attacking. Complete fws i find work best with a poacher. I would have a target man but they never seem to work for me. Maybe too one dimensional. So basically its just whay i find works best and have come to trust.

Ok, thanks JP, no requirement to look for tailored player role scheds then!

Jp...

as i told you before i'm loving the tactic and using in Athleci Bilbao..
on my second season i'm on first place but will have two hard matches away with real madrid and barcelona... las year i lost against them in their house and this year i have the same team..

what kind of adjustement should i make to try not lossing agaisnt them in their house? since they have much better players and las year i lost with the normal JP 443
