KRIS STUART TAKES OVER AT FC PORTO

Woooooo!!!! I have been looking forward to going to one of the Portuguese clubs and finally I have managed to do it. Pellegrini retired as manager of Barcelona so they took Vitor Pereira and that left the Porto position vacant.

The club however are £1m in the red and I have only been given a £15m budget (35% of sales will be mine too) but their squad is MUCH stronger than my Dortmund team so I expect victory within 2 seasons.

The defender Alcami is a beast of a regen and will be the rock at the back. Methinks a world class forward and maybe a winger and I will be sorted!!!!!​

Nope and despite having a really good squad I have done much changes and managed to snare some world class players including 2 regens that are unreal!!!!!

PRE-SEASON - AUGUST

So I arrive at Porto and the first thing I do is make many changes to the squad. I now think my starting XI is a match
for anyone! I really think we can do it first time providing we steer clear of injuries. Having had a quick look at Benfica and Sporting Lisbon I know we have won the league already as all the other teams are shockingly poor.

Anywho..................

PLAYERS IN
First of all I will tell you the players I missed out on. Muniain (£23m - Liverpool AAAGGHHHH), Abel Hernandez (£12m - Man City) and Nani (£7m - Chelsea).

Now to the players I did get - these are the main 4. Torres speaks for himself but check out Mondragon. My dream CM almost!!!!!

I also brought in veteran CB Pepe on a free as well as 2 backup keepers who started at Porto originally to help with squad registration. Adrien came in from Monaco for £1m, Marco Verratti arrived from Newcastle for £3m while the RB I signed for Dortmund - Samuel - came in on loan. Finally I brought in these regens for much cheapness with Paulinho and Janvier coming in on loan.

SUMMARY
My starting XI is top notch and will be a match for anyone. This side is so much stronger than my Dortmund side and is only missing a real top notch striker but the rest is quality.

Starting XI - Ortiz, Danilo, Alcami, Otamendi, Alex Sandro, Mondragon, Joao Moutinho, Victor Hugo, Torres, Centurion, Dramani

David Luiz can only get on the bench - mainly due to the beast that is Alcami!!!!!

SEPTEMBER

September was a good month - we got a decent draw in the Champions League and will come up against Arsenal, Fenerbahce and Eintracht Frankfurt while we cruised our domestic games and scored plenty of goals. There are 30 league games in the Portuguese league and I am aiming to get 100 goals so need to average over 3 a game............

The European Cup winning side of 1987

OCTOBER

Goals galore although I found it ironic that the weakest team that we came up against restricted us the most!!!! The highlight of the month was the thrilling 5-3 win over Arsenal as we staged a late comeback in scoring 4 goals in the last 15min.

Internationally my Scotland side earned a narrow win over Denmark and thrashed Luxembourg to win our qualifying group and therefor book our place at the World Cup!

What a game and this is a good barometer to how good we are. We went 1-0 and 2-1 down and then with 15min to go I threw on Verratti and Vilakazi and we scored 4 goals!!!!!!

NOVEMBER

When I go out and beat Sporting Lisbon 5-1 I know that this quite probably is the easiest league of them all as Porto can attract top players while the other 1 team leagues (Scotland, Romania, Holland) cant really.

Once again it proved to be the lowest ranked team that managed to restrain our goalscorers!

DECEMBER

A very bad month!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only did we drop points against Boavista and lose to Arsenal to finish 2nd in our Champions League group but we got punished by drawing Real Madrid in the next round. Celtic and Zenit were the best options to be drawn with but I wasnt that lucky.

The World Cup draw also happened and the Tartan Army will be seeing us take on Germany, Morocco and Japan in Russia. I feel qualification from that group isnt beyond us.

JANUARY

8 games this month in what has been my busiest month so far. Every game was a good win until we lost to Benfica right at the end. Still top of the league and in with a shout of the domestic quadruple!!!!

Transfer wise I sold winger Jefferson Montero to PSG for £13m as he wasnt getting a game and was worth a bit so I promoted a decent winger from the B side and I signed a young South African midfielder called Mbongeni Ndlovu.

PHEW!!!! Alcami scored an OG to put us behind and then we levelled and took the lead late on after having 32 shots on goal. They somehow levelled and then we had a goal disallowed but Centurion struck in the 6th minute of stoppage time.

FEBRUARY

The main story of this month was our win against Real Madrid as we take a 2 goal advantage to the Bernabeu for the 2nd leg. I thought I had a starting XI that could match anyone else and this proves it - lets hope I dont blow it!!!!

Other than that we got a good away win against Benfica and scored the usual lorry load of goals in my other games.

As for Scotland - to qualify for Euro 2020 we will have to navigate our way out of a group that also contains Germany, Montenegro, Faroe Islands and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
