Cracking way to end the season mate! Looking forward to pre-season to see who you pick up and what clubs are going to try and poach players from you.

Never good to see Bilbao 11th in the league. Feels weird seeming them that low after seeing you dominate the Spanish league for so long.

PRE SEASON

(up to FA Community Shield game day)

Newcastle sell Gary Cahill and fans favourite Cisse
Kurt Zouma and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain the big signings
Managerial merry go round occurs in the Premier League
Bids of over £20m rejected for Vrsaljko and Hoilett

AIMS
League win as usual
Win the European Super Cup and World Club Cup

PLAYERS IN

Kurt Zouma from Saint-Etienne for £20m
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal for £10m
Joaozinho from FC Porto for £1.4m (Regen)
Jens Gunther from Bayern Munich for £1.2m (R)
Bram Boonen from Genk for £600,000 (R)
Dusan Kubicek from Braga for £150,000 (R)

Johannes Bonimeier from Bayern Munich on a free
Plus several regens and a young players on a free to sell on
TOTAL SPENT:£33.5m

When I say a few regens I mean 6 and when I say young players I mean Gael Kukuta, Sergi Samper and Sergi Roberto. Think it was a total of 5 players from Barcelona who were released I picked up. Chamberlain rejected Real Madrid to sign for me also. Anyway I presume everyone knows about Zouma and Chamberlain so these are the picks of the others who I have signed. Boonen and Gunther are the main two methinks.

PLAYERS OUT

Papiss Cisse to Bayer Leverkusen for £20m
Emiliano Viviano to Spurs for £15m (all profit)
Gary Cahill to Malaga for £10.75m (profit of £6.3m)
Haris Vuckic to Aston Villa for £6.75m
Rafael Echeverria to Real Sociedad for £4.9m (all profit)
Eiichi Maruyama to FC Twente for £4m (£3.7m profit)
Giuseppe Springer to Hamburg for £1.5m (all profit)
Gael Bigirimana to Huddersfield for £1.5m
Mathias Faller to Hannover for £1m (all profit)
Chris Rice to Aston Villa for £300,000

Sylvain Marveaux was released
4 players out on loan for fees
5 loaned to Genk, 4 to Carlisle and Gateshead, 2 to St.Johnstone
TOTAL INCOME: £68m

The sale of Cisse didnt go down to well but with Niang about it was about time he took centre stage and let Goncharik and Berjulet push him. Gary Cahill was sold because I wanted Zouma (who I have never had before) and he was on a big wage so off he went!

SUMMARY
In terms of my starting eleven Zouma will replace Cahill, Niang replaces Cisse and I think Marco Agosto will replace Rodwell as starting central midfielder. Bonimeier starts the season off as 4th choice cb and as a result is in the 1st team squad but that could change. Chamberlain and Hoilett are to do battle to become my first choice lw.

FIRST TEAM REGENS

Just thought I should post a pick of all the regens in my first team squad (apart from Bonimeier who is shown above and not any in the reserves or u18s). Mulugeta and Agosto are my two favourites:

AUGUST

Newcastle snap up Karim Benzema on a free!!!!!
Newcastle win the FA Community Shield....
and the UEFA European Super Cup
Belgium win away to Sweden in a friendly

A fine start to the season with 2 trophies picked up however it was the surprising transfer news that is the story of the month. Firstly I picked up Aaron Lennon on a free to loan him out and sell him at a profit except he didnt want to go on loan so he will rot in my reserves until Jan when I can flog him.

Then in a random player search (trying to see if Neymar or Wilshere is interested) I noticed Karim Benzema was transfer listed with an asking price of £0!!! In I went and I got him on a reasonable contract (didnt push up the players who have a highest wage earner clause) and will keep him for a year and sell him on in the summer. Hopefully he can tutor one or two players along the way as I only have 4 players aged over 26 - not including Lennon - Krul, Cabaye, Bonucci and Kagawa. Niang is first choice though...

Aberdeen and my feeder sides Maccabi Haifa and Sparta Prague qualified for the Champions League group stage but we avoided all 3! Borussia Dortmund, Lokomotiv Moscow and Benfica are in our group.

SEPTEMBER

Newcastle out of the Capital One Cup at the first hurdle again
Romario finally makes his Newcastle debut after signing in January 2012
Mulugeta out for 2 months
Belgium qualify for the European Championships

A decent month. We started it off by scoring 4 in each of our first 3 games but then we faced Chelsea who put us out of the Capital One Cup. They fielded a strong line up while we played our backup side so it was always going to be tough.

To be fair my backup players played in both Champions League games too and did a job.

OCTOBER

Croatia and my home country Scotland offer me jobs
After 2 years Lucas Moura has finally decided to perform!!!!
Newcastle get huge win away to Man Utd
Belgium win both of their final qualifiers

Another superb month! It started off in the best possible way with a win at Old Trafford with our two best players of the season so far Agosto and Lucas Moura getting on the scoresheet. The rest was simple. Our backup players fought out a draw with Dortmund (Accordino missed a pen grrrr) and at the end of the month we are sitting pretty at the top of the league with a 100% record.

Internationallly Belgium completed their group with ease and afterwards I got offered the manager posts at Scotland and Croatia - both of which were rejected. If it was at the end of a tournament I might have accepted Scotland but they didnt qualify so Craig "Harry Potter" Levein (who shouldnt be in the job in real life imo) got sacked and Graeme Souness took over. He then appointed Gordon Strachan as u21 manager.

NOVEMBER

Newcastle lose their first league game
And probably have to settle for 2nd in their Champions League group
Benzema out for 4 months
Belgium win 1 and draw 1 of their 2 friendlies

Hmmmmm. Indifferent month on the whole. In the league we fought back from 2 down against Arsenal only to lose it to a late strike although we did end the month by thumping Liverpool. Before the Swansea game their muppet of a manager Sam Allardyce was spouting off to the press about how they would beat us but that didnt happen. Swansea nearly qualified for Europe last season but under Sam they are championship bound as they havent even won a game yet!

In the Champions League our backup players narrowly lost to Dortmund and we had a stoppage time equaliser disallowed. Benfica did us a favour in the next round of matches but we need Dortmund to slip up against Lokomotiv Moscow and our backup players to beat Benfica.

Been really disappointed with Yohan Cabaye's form of late. Seriously considering selling him at the end of the season when he enters his 30s (although he turns 30 in Jan I dont like selling midway through a season).
