September update

Matchday 3

View attachment 156368View attachment 156367
A couple of teams (PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Corinthians) played a bit later due to cup matches but the biggest shock of the day came from Sevilla as they beat Liverpool 3-2 at Anfield whilst Chelsea could not get all 3 points against Benfica. Atletico managed to get an impressive 3-0 victory, thanks to new signing Carlos Tevez, whilst Bayern smashed Porto as Lewandowski scored the first hat-trick in the league's history.

Yet another thrilling matchday in the World League Premiership with Arsenal grabbing the second biggest win of the matchday against REAL MADRID at the Bernabeu. Atletico grabbed their second win in a row as well and Juventus managed a good win against Chelsea. Lewandowski scored his second hat-trick in a row to give Bayern all 3 points against Sevilla whilst Liverpool could not capitalise on PSG's red card and lost yet another game.

Matchday 5

View attachment 156364
After matchday 5, it's safe to say that there are 2 teams who are in the best position to win the title and as of right now, those are Juventus, who grabbed yet another win to stay at the top of the league table and Barcelona, who are favourites to win the competition, who got thrashed by Juventus as Eriksen proves to be an amazing signing and Mandzukic scored twice with Liverpool losing yet again, this time against Benfica! Chelsea are not having a great season either as they lost at home to Real Madrid.

After 5 games, here's the league table:

View attachment 156359

The biggest shock since the start of the season is to see Chelsea and Liverpool all the way at the bottom of the league table in 16th and 17th respectively, as they've both failed to get a single win from their first 5 games. Surprisingly enough, the top 2 teams have already lost one game but there are other teams still undefeated, yet they're clearly not doing as well.

October update

Matchday 6

View attachment 156357View attachment 156356
Another loss for Liverpool who looked strong against Juventus but Mandzukic was the hero for the Italian side and keeps them at the top of the table. Benfica produced the shock of the matchday as they won 2-0 against Bayern at home and Atletico continued climbing the table with a late win against PSG at the Parc des Princes. Arsenal also won away from home to continue their strong start to the season with all 3 of the bottom 3 teams (Liverpool, Corinthians, and Chelsea) lost their games. This matchday also saw the first ever El Clasico of the competition at the Bernabeu, which ended 1-1 despite the hosts taking an early lead.

Chelsea finally managed their first win of the season against AC Milan as Liverpool salvaged an impressive draw against Real Madrid but stay at the bottom alongside Corinthians, who were smashed 5-0 by Arsenal, a team on the rise. Atletico could only manage a draw against Benfica as they conceded just a minute after opening the scoreline and Bayern impressed by beating Juventus 2-0 at the Allianz Arena. Manchester City and PSG drew in a boring 0-0 game that sees PSG draw their 3rd game of the season. Manchester United also defeated Barcelona at the Camp Nou to slowly climb the table.

It's slowly becoming clear that Corinthians are simply not made up for the quality in the Premiership and are now favourites to get relegated as they lost yet another game, against Chelsea, and stay at the very bottom of the league. Liverpool impressed again with a 2-2 draw against Manchester United but still stay very low in the table whilst Juventus won 2-1 against a strong Atletico side that just couldn't handle Dybala. Real Madrid also grabbed an impressed 3-2 victory against Bayern despite going 1-0 down pretty early on. Arsenal won yet again and Benfica also shocked the league as they won 2-1 against Manchester City despite being a goal down and a man down. Inter recorded probably their best result so far as they flew to France to get a 2-0 victory, courtesy of Mauro Icardi, whilst Barcelona struggled against AC Milan by getting 2 reds but still came away with 3 points.

And here comes the end of October with matchday 9 as Juventus continue their flying form by crushing Inter with goals from Eriksen, Mandzukic and Pogba whilst Atletico also easily beat Manchester United 3-1 at Old Trafford. Manchester City recorded an impressive win over Real Madrid despite getting a red card and the clash between the two Portuguese giants Benfica and Porto ended as a draw. Sevilla were the ones to shock fans in this matchday as they won 2-1 against PSG and the French side now has not won in their last 3 league games. Corinthians also got a shocking win over Liverpool who now rot at the bottom of the league being the only team to have not won a game and Bayern won yet again to climb closer and closer to the top of the table. Arsenal also drew against Barcelona to become the only unbeaten team in the league as they are having a terrific start to the season.

Nine games in and as seen in the monthly awards, Arsenal is dominating:

Liverpool stay at the very bottom of the league whilst PSG have crumbled down all the way to 13th and Benfica are ahead of Real Madrid. The favourites Barcelona are down in 5th which for them must be pretty disappointing whilst Atletico have managed to go all the way to 3rd. Bayern are slowly making their way towards the top 3 as they sit in 4th and the current standings promise for a very exciting rest of the season.

Apologies for the long update but as I said earlier in the thread, the save for just September was corrupted so I had to do a 2-in-1 update with both September and October, I hope you enjoy it though! The next update won't come out until Friday or Saturday so that you can all take the time to post your updates about September and October.

Hmmmm I'm regretting not spending as much. Can't get a look at the save as I traveled with my family and computer is at home.

Bayern did not do much shopping. So glad to see we are still challenging at the top. It will get very close from the looks of it. Press Release to come later today.

Very happy with Juve. Eriksen looking like a very good signing so far. Gonna look at the save when I get home and get an update out today :)

Disappointing start to the season for Les Parisiens

View attachment 156321

Despite spending over 60 million pounds, PSG have had a poor start to their life in the FIFA World League, sitting in 12th after just 9 games, which is nowhere near they'd want to be right now considering the calibre of their squad. New signings Bazoer and Zivkovic have only appeared once in the World League Cup but never in the league yet and Thomas Lemar, one of the most exciting French young prospects right now, hasn't played even a single minute since coming to the French capital. Higuain has been one of their better performers this season, scoring 5 in 11 appearances but PSG are still lacking the firepower up front to be able to rival with the likes of Bayern and Arsenal. Club captain Thiago Silva, who has been PSG's best player so far, gave us an interview where we asked him what he thought about the season so far:

View attachment 156320

"We all know that we've really got to improve to meet the expectations from the fans and the board. Adapting from a league where we basically crushed everyone to now a league with the best teams in the world is hard and some teams have done it better than others for sure. I've had a chance to talk to a lot of the players as club captain and they're all disappointed with themselves too. Laurent knows what he's doing and if we keep working hard, we know we'll end up turning things around because we've had a lot of games where we just didn't take our chances and that's something we'll need to work on during training. One thing that I'll tell you for sure is that we're a very ambitious group of players and we're coming for the top of the table!"

With just 2 wins from 9 games, Thiago Silva was definitely right about not taking chances as they've drawn 3 games so far and lost 4, which isn't a great record at all. Manager Laurent Blanc has definitely been under a lot of pressure since the start due to the "boring" performances from his side especially in 0-0 draws that have happened this season already and if he doesn't turn things around quickly, he could see himself get sacked by the club. Club owner Arnault has already announced that he expects much better performances between now and December or else he might just have to change everything completely and get a new manager in to try and put PSG back on their feet.

L'Équipe's PSG Player of the Season so far

View attachment 156315PSG captain Thiago Silva has saved the club from a lot of defeats this season and has proven to be much more important than PSG's offensive force this season

The club captain has averaged a 7.72 rating out of 10 in all 9 of his games so far and definitely deserves the Player of the Month for August, September and October as he's kept PSG in many of their games this season so far and could see himself rewarded with a new contract soon if he keeps those performances up. With the 31-year old being one of the best defenders in the world, the French club will definitely be looking to keep him in for as long as possible and hope that he decides to retire at the club to keep bringing some amazing quality at the back.

Corinthians President Steps Down!

Fans of Sport Club Corinthians Paulista have been rocked by the latest news out of the club that current club president Roberto De Andrade has decided to walk away from the club after being in charge for little over a year. A new president has already been installed in the form of Brazilian legend Ronaldo. The world cup winning footballer had this to say in his press conference.

Reporter: Ronaldo what made you take over as club president of Corinthians?
Ronaldo: Well it's simple. I have been a winner in every aspect of my life and with any club i have played for be it Real Madrid, Cruzeiro, AC Milan even the Brazil National side I was a winner. When I came here to play and was forced to end my playing career I had not achieved everything that I had wanted and I had left the club not a winner. But now I have the opportunity to re-write those wrongs and to be a winner at this great club. That is why I took over. I have unfinished business!!

I will carry on and let Tite continue to be manager and to let him show me that he wants to be a winner to but he needs to improve results drastically because a club like this should not be fighting it out in the relegation zone. I have came in at a time when the transfer window has passed but come the next one I will be looking to help us stamp our authority in the market and to use those reinforcements to take us out of the relegation zone.

Bayern Munich Update

Season Update - August

Bayern 1 - 1 Man City

Thiago scored for Bayern to cancel out De Bruyne's opener. We should have come away with 3 points, however, City were clinical.

Inter 0 - 2 Bayern

Midfielders again came back to the rescue as goals from Robben and Vidal secured a win for us. Inter were never allowed back in the game after Vidal's opener as early as 13th minute. Easy win and gives us momentum heading into September.

Bayern Season Update - September

Bayern 4 - 0 FCP

Robert Lewandowski joined the party. And in style. He becomes the first hat-trick scored in FWL as Bayern decimated Porto. It was an entirely one sided affair as we have over 70% possession and over 20 attempts. Even Thomas Muller opened his account. Robbery have been sidelined with injuries and this shows our strength in bench. And justifies the frugality in Transfer Market.

Seville 1 - 3 Bayern

2 hat-tricks in consecutive games. Lewandowski doubles his tally. Another straightforward victory takes up the table along with the challengers. Robben got some game time as well as he came back quicker than expected.

Bayern 0 - 0 PSG

A goalless draw this time as both teams canceled each other out. PSG had come with the intention to draw and achieved the same as they had only 2 shots on target.

PLAYER of the month: Robert Lewandowski.

November update

Matchday 10

View attachment 155979

Leaders Arsenal have yet again delivered as they beat London rivals 1-0 at Stamford Bridge through Theo Walcott. Barcelona finally got back on their feet as they beat rock-bottom Corinthians 2-0 whilst Liverpool got their first league win since the start of the World League Premiership in August in a somewhat convincing victory over AC Milan. PSG were a man down by half time but still came away with a win away against Porto whilst Juventus could only salvage a draw at Manchester City. The other Manchester side also continued with their good form by grabbing an impressive win against Bayern and Real Madrid triumphed in the first Madrid derby in the history of the WL Premiership.

Real Madrid and Barcelona could unfortunately not play due to cup matches but there were no shocking results as Manchester City won the first ever Manchester derby of the WL Premiership, Liverpool held on for a point against Arsenal and Atletico crushed AC Milan. Sevilla also got an impressive victory against Benfica and Bayern got an easy win over Corinthians. Porto did really well to get a draw against a very strong Juventus side and PSG got yet another 0-0 draw as they disappointed yet again at home.

The biggest game of matchday 12 came at the Emirates Stadium as Arsenal beat Bayern to stay unbeaten, thanks to goals from Coquelin and Bellerin. Benfica also grabbed a 2-1 win at home against PSG to make the French side's season even worse whilst Messi was the hero as he scored twice in the last 5 minutes to manage a draw against Valencia. Liverpool also got yet ANOTHER draw against Chelsea in a battle at the bottom of the league table whilst Atletico recorded a routine win against Corinthians, who's relegation is becoming more and more likely by the day. Manchester City were shocked away from home by AC Milan, who managed to win 2-1 against the English side, as Real Madrid took their chances and there was no love lost for loanee Asensio, who despite scoring against his parent club could not gift his team 3 points at the Bernabeu.

And now 12 games in (except for Porto, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Barcelona), here's what the league table looks like:

View attachment 155970
Yet another great month in the World League Premiership which saw a couple of milestones be reached such as Liverpool's first league win of the season, PSG's third 0-0 draw of the season and Arsenal's unbeaten run extended to 12 games. Juventus are close behind the Gunners who just seem unbeatable at the moment and it's not getting that much better for Barcelona who, even with a game in hand, could climb up to 4th maximum unless they smash Chelsea when they meet them later on this year. The biggest surprise as of right now is to see Bayern down in 7th with Real Madrid in 8th with a game in hand whilst Benfica have somehow managed to slip in the European places.

Let me know when you'd want the next update released, I have a relatively free weekend so I would be able to release maybe one or two more updates if you'd want that. However, some chairmen still need to release a small club update as a minimum before I go on with the save and the next transfer window after the December update!
