Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has hinted of squad rotation ahead of his sides EFL Cup tie away at League Two Exeter.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has named the same starting eleven in both matches so far this season, but has today hinted at rotation when his side face Exeter in the EFL Cup 2nd round.

"I think it's going to be important that some players are given opportunities in cup games such as this one and hat we don't give players too many games too soon." Klopp told Sky Sports News.

"It's a long season and we need to make sure that players do not burn out too quickly. We have played well in our two games so far this season but this match is ideal to give the players who have not already had a chance to play, a chance to play. We didn't sign the likes of Ragnor Klavan to sit on the bench so this game will give him a chance to show us what he can do."

Liverpool thrashed Middlesbrough in the Premier League last time out, and despite this result, the Reds boss has insisted that he will not be underestimating League Two Exeter.

"It would be easy for us to go into this match with the belief that it's done and dusted," added the Liverpool boss.

"But that's not what we're planning to do, we know that there's still a job to do, and the players selected will want to be staking their own claims for earning starts against Swansea at the weekend. Exeter will be up for this game, they'll have a bumper crowd down there and it's up to us to remain professional and get the win."

Attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino has revealed his delight at finally being able to make a full return from the broken arm he picked up in pre-season.

Firmino picked up the injury during pre season and has only been able to play 1 game so far this season, the EFL Cup tie away at Exeter City. The Brazilian has now been given the all clear and is avaliable for Liverpool's next match which is a home game against Tottenham at Anfield.

"It's great to be back in contention," Firmino told Liverpoolfc.com.

"When I went landed during the match, I knew that my arm was broken and I'd miss the start of the season. It was really difficult to cope with after waiting so long for the season to start. When I got injured all I wanted to do is get back playing again and do what I love doing the best."

"I have to say a big thank you to the medical staff," added Firmino.

"The medical staff were fantastic. I wanted to rush straight back in once my arm felt ok but they made sure that I didn't come back too soon. In hindsight, I wasn't ready to return and I thank them for making me see sense. Now that I am fully fit, I'm raring to get started and I can't wait till the game against Tottenham next Saturday."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was pleased after watching his side ease to a 4-0 win over Tottenham at Anfield.

The home side raced into an early lead with Roberto Firmino marking his first Premier League start of the season with a goal in the 4th minute. Coutinho doubled the lead a minute later and added a 3rd with just 20 minutes gone. By the time Firmino scored Liverpool's 4th, the game was well and truly out of Tottenham's reach.

Speaking after the match, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp expressed his delight at his teams performance.

"It was a great team performance out there today," Klopp told Sky Sports.

"We went into the game expecting a difficult test against a very good Tottenham side and we outclassed them. I think getting the two goals very early took all the fight out of Tottenham and they didn't offer anything at all all game. Jordan Henderson ran the show in the centre of the pitch and he made Tottenham look very average."

The Liverpool boss also praised the performance of midfielder Phillipe Coutinho, who netted a brace at Anfield.

"Well what can be said that already hasn't about Phillipe," added the German.

"He was simply sensational out there today and it is a wonder as to how he didn't get a hat trick. The fans love him and he loves the fans and it is that relationship that allows him to perform so well. He's like a little magician when he gets on the ball and there aren't many players better than him."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is wary of the threat posed by Liverpool ahead of their meeting at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal come into the game on the back of a 3-1 loss to Spanish giants Barcelona in the Champions League, meanwhile, Liverpool are fresh off an impressive 4-0 win over Arsenal's local rivals Tottenham. Liverpool are so far unbeaten in the Premier League with their draw with Manchester United on the opening day being their only dropped points.

Speaking ahead of Saturday's Barclays Premier League meeting with Liverpool at the Emirates, Arsene Wenger spoke of the challenge that awaited his side.

"We know exactly what Liverpool are capable of, and it's going to be important that we are completely focused on what is required of us," Wenger told Sky Sports.

"Liverpool will come here and press us high up the pitch and we will need to make sure that we do not panic and give the ball away. If we play our natural game and pass the ball about the pitch then Liverpool will tire towards the end of the match, patience will be key for us in this match. Liverpool are in good form but there is no reason why we can't beat them on Saturday."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed his disappointment in his teams second half performance, the visitors drawing 2-2 with Arsenal having led 1-0 at half time.

The game started in the best possible manner for Liverpool with Georginio Wijnaldum opening the scoring in the 18th minute. Liverpool then dominated the rest of the half. After the break, Arsenal looked a different side and goals from Lucas and Sanchez turned the game on its head before Adam Lallana found an equaliser for Liverpool with 13 minutes left.

"We were awful in the second half, that's the honest truth." Klopp told BBC Sport.

"In the second half we were second in every aspect of the game, Arsenal outfought and outplayed us. I'm not sure what happened to the lads but they appeared to just think that the game was won. At 1-0, we were not comfortable and it wasn't a surprise to see Arsenal turn the game around with two quick goals. I was really disappointed that we allowed them to do that."

Despite criticising his sides second half performance, Klopp also praised his side for finding a way back into the game.

"We offered nothing all half so to get the equalising goal was really good to see. Adam has a knack at getting into the right positions and it was a great finish by him. I can't say that we deserved it but I am just happy that we managed to somehow steal a point. We'll pick ourselves up and go again in midweek against Man United."

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has set his sights on humiliating Liverpool following reports that Jurgen Klopp is to name a weakened side for their EFL Cup clash.

The two sides have already met once this season with Divock Origi cancelling out a Zlatan Ibrahimovic goal, this coming two minutes after Paul Pogba saw red for the Manchester side.

In a pre-match interview ahead of their EFL Cup 3rd round tie, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho had plenty to say.

"To name a weakened side against a side of our class is bordering on suicidal and is stupid. I just hope that Jurgen is ready for the backlash when we humiliate them on their own turf. They got lucky when they played us in the Premier League and got Paul Pogba sent off to help them steal a point. That won't happen this time around, we'll win it comfortably."

With the Manchester United manager fuelling the fire ahead of their EFL Cup 3rd round clash, Sky Sports approached Liverpool for a response to Jose Mourinho's claims but the club denied to comment.
