LOSC Lille Métropole - Nous Sommes Les Dogues

Chelsea v Liverpool

View attachment 271275

We face arch-rivals Liverpool in the FA Cup now, knowing that if we knock them out we have a great chance of success in the cup.

View attachment 271274

We progress to next round with a 1-0 win and send Liverpool out. James Rodriguez got the only goal of the game, we held on a little bit at the end after Cesar Azpilicueta's quick fire double yellow card.

Newcastle v Chelsea

View attachment 271268

We face a trip to Jose Mourinho's Newcastle now. St James' Park hasn't been a happy hunting ground in recent years for the blues so we are going to need a good performance to get a result.

View attachment 271267

A hard fought result but I'm just happy to be travelling home with the 3 points. Eden Hazard scored a brace, the second in injury time to secure a dramatic win. Newcastle pushed us to the limit and unsurprisingly so considering it's a Jose Mourinho side.

Here's how our rivals got on;

View attachment 271265

They all won, unsurprisingly given the fixtures they had.

The top 4 stays the same;

Going really well!
I think once you win the PL and CL with Chelsea, you should go back to Lille if possible, and finish what you started!

Chelsea v Bournemouth

View attachment 271263

Bournemouth are our next opponents. We lost at the Goldsands Stadium earlier in the season so there's a bit of revenge to be had here.

Manchester United had a mid-week game in the Premier League;

View attachment 271262

They won, the reason for this match being in mid-week is because they are competing in the Capital One Cup final this weekend.

View attachment 271261

We beat Bournemouth as expected really. 4 goals and 4 different scorers means a fantastic day for the team.

How did our rivals get on?

View attachment 271259

Man City slip up at Watford to push them further away from the top. Is the title just a 3 horse race now?

View attachment 271258

It'll be tough for Man City now. 7 points behind with 10 games left, plus they have 3 teams to overtake rather than 1. All I know is that this title race will go down to the wire!

Also a note on how the Capital One Cup Final ended;

February Overview

View attachment 271252

February has been our best month yet, a perfect record plus progression in the cups. Our rivals have kept pace with us though to ensure a thrilling end to the season.

View attachment 271251

We know the top 4 but a look at the rest of the table for those interested.

Chelsea v Viktoria Plzen

View attachment 271243

Champions League Last 16 2nd Leg time against Viktoria Plzen. We have a 2-1 advantage to protect, but I'm expecting us to win here to lay down a marker for the next round.

View attachment 271242

We ease through in the end and were 4-0 up by half time. Eden Hazard is the star of the show once again and it's always nice to see Dominic Solanke bag himself another Champions League goal. In the second half we took our foot off the pedal and just cruised into the Quarter Finals...

...where we will play;

View attachment 271237

Could've been easier but also could've been a lot more difficult.

Chelsea v Derby

View attachment 271229

We're back in Premier League action now with the visit of struggling Derby County.

View attachment 271228

James Rodriguez and Eden Hazard score the goals as we secure a comfortable home win. I forgot to take a screenshot of the other results and top 4 but they all won so it's as you were for another week.

Ipswich v Chelsea

View attachment 271215

We travel to Portman Road to face an Ipswich side who are in a relegation dog fight. It's never easy playing these kind of teams at this stage in the season.

View attachment 271214

We have blown 2 points here! Daryl Murphy scored a hat trick against us and was incredible! Eden Hazard was our best player - again - with a brace but Murphy's equaliser with 5 minutes to go was hard to take.

How did our rivals get on?

View attachment 271212

Man City winning the Manchester derby is probably the best result for us but Liverpool take full advantage of our dropped points here.

View attachment 271210

We are 2 points behind Liverpool with just 8 games left to play. The title is now out of our hands and we're relying on Liverpool slipping up for us to take advantage.

March Overview

View attachment 271208

March was a short month, which ended with a disappointing draw at Portman Road. We are still in the title hunt and it will go down to the wire I'm sure.

View attachment 271207

The title race is hotly contested as is the battle at the bottom with 6 points seperating 4 teams. Credit to Watford who are flying high in 7th place with only 8 games left of the season!

April Fixtures;

View attachment 271201

It looks as though April will be our make or break month. We have HUGE Premier League games against Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool in particular, not to mention an FA Cup semi final and two legs of a Champions League Quater Final! Bring it on!

Man City v Chelsea

View attachment 271200

We have a massive trip to the Etihad Stadium now. This match is more important as we are doing the chasing after our draw in the last match.

View attachment 271199

Maybe slightly undeserved, but a great win nonetheless!! Aaron Cresswell scored an own goal early on and we pretty much just depended on Thibaut Courtois to keep us in the match! Jose Gaya got a quick double yellow to put us even further under the cosh for most of the second half. It's results like this that wins you titles!

Man Utd are losing ground at the top.

Nice unbeaten run dude, I predict you will win the league by 4 points!

Chelsea v Arsenal

View attachment 270929

We're on a great run and have given ourselves a great chance of winning the title. We need to keep that going in this home match against under-achieving Arsenal.

View attachment 270928

The most frustrating match of my career! We were 1-0 up and playing really well, maybe should have scored a few more but we just fell apart in the last 10 minutes and somehow lost the match by 2 goals! I really hope we don't bottle this now, this could be a really damaging defeat, lets see how our rivals got on;

View attachment 270927
View attachment 270925

Man Utd beating Liverpool was probably the best result that we could have got from that match so that means that Man Utd have pulled themselves back into this title race. Man City's draw probably ends their hunt for the title.

View attachment 270923

Chelsea v Atletico Madrid

View attachment 270910

Next up is our Champions League Quarter Final against Atletico Madrid. We're at home first which is seen by some as a slight disadvantage so really we want a lead to take back to Madrid with us. We need a reaction after our last results against Arsenal.

View attachment 270909

A brilliant performance, I couldn't have asked for any more from the lads! We knew we had to take a lead to Spain with us and we've got a commanding one that I can't see them overturning. We were ruthless in front of goal and made Atletico Madrid pay. James Rodriguez was the star of the show with his brace, Eden Hazard, John Terry and another goal from young striker Dominic Solanke rounded off a perfect evening.

Ipswich v Chelsea

View attachment 270907

It's another big cup match for us now as we play the FA Cup Semi Final against Ipswich. This may be seen as the easier draw considering the other Semi is Arsenal v Man City but we drew 3-3 with Ipswich recently so they know they can compete against us.

View attachment 270896

They were no match for us on the day as we steamroll our way into the FA Cup Final. Dominic Solanke got his deserved start at Wembley and crowned it with a goal in the first half. Oscar was the main man, he got his goal along with Willian and a late one from Diego Costa to put the cherry on top of the cake.

We found out our FA Cup Finalists;

View attachment 270880

Elsewhere there was a Premier League game involving one of our rivals Man Utd...

View attachment 270877

That result means they move temporarily ahead of us having played a game more.

View attachment 270876

Atletico Madrid v Chelsea

View attachment 270875

The big games keep coming and we travel to Madrid for our Quarter Final 2nd leg. We have a 5-0 lead so there isn't too much danger of us missing out on the Semi's.

View attachment 270872

We made a host of changes for this one and I'm very impressed that we still managed to come away from it with a win and a clean sheet meaning we win 6-0 on aggregate. Very comprehensive and professional from the lads. Now for the Semi Final draw;

View attachment 270865

Porto were the team that everyone wanted but we get an all-English Semi against Man City.
