LOSC Lille Métropole - Nous Sommes Les Dogues

Lille v Lens

View attachment 291588

We start 2015 with our third Derby du Nord of the season against Lens in the Coupe de France. We won the previous one with 10 men for most of the match so I'm hoping we can start the year with a morale-boosting victory.

View attachment 291586

It was a frustrating match right up until the last minute of extra time when Jordon Ibe stepped up to score the winner and send us through to the next round! There was a lot of yellow cards in what was a fiery derby.

View attachment 291585

Our stand out player for the last month or so gets another man of the match award to add to his collection. I'm praying no offers come in for him in this transfer window.

View attachment 291583

We draw Nice away in the next round. Won't be the easiest of ties but I fancy us to get through.

Nantes v Lille

View attachment 291561

Nantes next up as we need to regain our form from earlier on in the season in order to keep pace at the top of Ligue 1.

View attachment 291560

A very professional away performance and a much needed 3 points! Marion scored the winner and was superb!

View attachment 291559

I've been very impressed with Marion this season, he's turned out to be a brilliant signing for this club. Kudos to our scouting team!

January Transfer Update

View attachment 291540

Taking a break away from the matches now as we did sell one of our first team players this transfer window after he asked to leave...

View attachment 291539

David Rozehnal left to go to China. He wanted to leave as soon as he knew of their interested and he was backup at the club so I decided to let him leave.

We bought a replacement...

View attachment 291538

Martin Hinteregger comes in and will compete with Basa and Kjaer for a starting berth.

Lille v Lorient

View attachment 291266

Coupe de la Ligue quarter final time and we're at home to Lorient with a decent chance to progress to the semi's.

View attachment 291265

We make it to the semi finals! Mavuba and Roux the goalscorers, with both coming in the first half. The second half was a bit of a snooze fest but we were always in complete control of this one.

View attachment 291264

Rio Mavuba picked up the man of the match award today as he controlled the game from the middle of the park. We're becoming used to these kinds of performances from the big man.

View attachment 291263

The semi final draw was made and we got drawn against Lyon, which is probably the lesser of 3 evils. A very strong last 4 in the Coupe de la Ligue this year, but once you get this far you have to start dreaming of lifting the trophy!

Nice v Lille

View attachment 291262

Staying in the cups and it's the Coupe de France 10th Round tie away to Nice. It's never difficult having cup ties on the road but we go into the game as favourites against our mid table opponents.

View attachment 291261

It was a classic cup tie. Late drama, penalty shoot out - the lot! We conceded in the last minute which was gut wrenching and I feared the worst when it came to the shoot-out but we held our nerve and sealed our place in the next round. We're turning into quite a cup specialist team this season!

View attachment 291260

The 11th Round draw was very kind to us with a home tie against Ligue 2 side Ajaccio! We've got to fancy our chances of progressing here and continuing our cup run.

Bordeaux v Lille

View attachment 291259

We travel to Bordeaux as we're back in Ligue 1 action next, but first some interesting managerial news from Rennes...

View attachment 291258

I look forward to pitting myself against one of my idols growing up. A magnificent footballer and I have no doubt he will be just as magnificent as a manager.

View attachment 291257

We were in control here and we should've won by more goals. Either way I'm always happy with a clean sheet away from home, even more so when we go on to win the game. Divock Origi was the goalscorer today to continue his fine goalscoring season.

Lille v Bastia

View attachment 291255

Bastia are our next opponents in Ligue 1 as we need to keep the pressure on at the top. PSG and Marseille have been relentless all season and they are very hard to keep up with.

View attachment 291256

It wasn't as comfortable as I would've hoped but a wins a win! Nolan Roux scoring his 25th goal of the season to win the game for us, he's proving to be the most lethal finisher in France.

View attachment 291253

Roux getting the plaudits from the media, not for the first time this season!

St Etienne v Lille

View attachment 291252

We're back on the road for a trip to an improving St Etienne side.

View attachment 291251

This was a hard fought draw as St Etienne gave as good as they got. I felt very sorry for Martin Hinteregger on his own goal, never nice for your first goal at a club to be an own goal!

January Overview

View attachment 291250

January was a good month for us, much better than December! We progress in the cups yet again and make some ground up in the league after falling away in December.

View attachment 291249

We're 3rd in the league, which I feel is realistically the highest we can aim for this season due to the strength of Marseille and PSG. I think now we have to start looking down to Toulouse and make sure we get the final Champions League place via the league.

View attachment 291248

Nolan Roux is dominating the scoring charts, and we in general are dominating the average rating. That just shows how well we have played this season.

View attachment 291247

Jordon Ibe gets some recognition this month but the awards dominated by PSG players as they have a great month.

Now a recap of our January results and fixtures in February;

View attachment 291246

View attachment 291245

February will be a key month as we kick off with our Coupe de la Ligue semi final against Lyon. We are back in Champions League action and end the month with a trip to Paris.

View attachment 291244

Also good news for me personally as I extend my contract with a pay rise!

View attachment 291243

And I start on a training course in a bid to gain qualifications! (I started with none)

Lille v Lyon

Coupe de la Ligue semi final time! We've taken the cups seriously this year as I would love to win silverware in my first season at the club. Lille have never won this trophy in their history either so that's another reason to make this a priority. We've performed best in the cups so far this season and we would love a final date, a day out for all the fans.

View attachment 291236

We've made it to the final!! A great achievement by the club! Origi put us 2-0 up but we were pegged back before half time. Nolan Roux turned out to be the match winner AGAIN as we won a real classic semi final.

View attachment 291235

Origi gets the man of the match award as he ran the Lyon defence ragged, especially in the first half!

View attachment 291234

One sour note is another injury to Jordon Ibe, not his first this season! It was a fiery match as both teams went for it so not too surprised to see an injury and a red card in the game.

View attachment 291233

We face Ligue 1 leaders Marseille in the final after they overcame PSG. We beat them 4-0 earlier in the season but this will be a real test for the lads. A massive day out for the fans, who will be expecting silverware.

Lille v Reims

View attachment 291232

Back to Ligue 1 action now as we face struggling Reims at home. Anything less than 3 points from this one will be seen as a disappointment.

View attachment 291231

A dominant victory as we restrict Reims to just two shots on our goal. We should've won by more but we'll take the win.

View attachment 291229

Marion was the stand out player today as the Reims defence just couldn't cope with him. We need to keep this form up in the league if we are going to mount a serious title challenge - Marseille and PSG just don't seem to slip up!

Lille v Ajaccio

View attachment 291226

Coupe de France time and a place in the quarter finals is up for grab. We've already sealed our spot in the final of the other French cup and we're favourites here so the fans are expectant.

View attachment 291225

What a relief! I literally don't know how it took us until the last minute to score. We absolutely battered them - 33 shots to 0! We could've won by 10 on another day but all that matters is we're in the next round. Nolan Roux is yet again the hero and our cup exploits go on!

View attachment 291223

We got a tough draw against Monaco. PSG went out in the last round to Nantes so realistically it's only Monaco or Marseille that can stand in our way. If we can get past Monaco then we can start dreaming again.
