Man Utd have signed a Portuguese Forward

faggots are pork?? didn't know that lol. It's amazing that this lad was homeless...wonder what contract he got?? bet he can't believe his luck..

Why sign another striker? Especially an unknown one for that kind of money.

United are sending some young strikers out on loan remember, like Diouf and Welbeck, this guy could play in the reserves for the season like Diouf did last season.. and United could still buy Ozil, this guy was probably bought with clauses and appearences etc being in the matter. This guy could become good..

You just paid 9 million euros for a guy that played in a third division side last season, went to a mid table team in our league, guimaraes, and hasn't even played an official first division match. WELL DONE!
I think Sir Alex knows what he is doing mate so shut the f*ck up. If Sir Alex buys a player and has faith in him you know he's gotta be pretty good. Sir Alex is 100% better manager than any trampy manager to come from Portugal or wherever you come from (Jose Mourinho).
Don't diss Fergie's signings (K)

End of rant. (H)

re: ozil we've met with werder bremen, problem is more to do with chelsea and barca wanting him than the fee itself, since they apparently willing to work with oour potential 13.3 million offer (i said eailer than anderson antics have made ferguson change his mind on ozil] as for bebe. who knows untill we actually see him play. queiroz is a **** manager but an excellent spotter of raw talent

stay on topic or get an infraction. i cant be any clearer than that

If this price-tag is legitimate, then it's a hefty sum to be paying for a player of his stature.

Even people from Portugal have basically never heard of him, let alone those of us in England.

Why did it cost so much?

That was the release clause on his contract that he just signed a couple of weeks ago :S

Seems alot for someone nobody has heard of and who hasnt even played in the Portuguese top flight but good for him growing up without a home and he is now playing for one of the best teams in the world, hope he does well :)

That is an extremely high release clause for, again, someone of his stature.

There must be something to it.

Pretty steep price tag for an unknown.

Must have some talent if AF is prepared to spend that on him.

If Real/Mourinho was interested and he was recomended to Fergie by Quiroz he's probably got something about him... possible the two biggest name portugese managers spot a portugese gem that most of the world havent heard of - i'm optimistic

yes he's unknown to a lot of people
who can honestly say they had heard of van Nistelrooy before fergie tried to sign him in 2000??
or anyone outside portugal heard of Ronaldo when we signed him??
both cost more than Bebe

Only time will tell of course and Fergie has pulled a few clangers over the years - Manucho, Diouf, Kleberson, Djemba Djemba, Tosic... hopefully this time its different

Hernandez looks the real deal(so far at least) so who knows, in a few years we could all be raving about Uniteds front 4 of Bebe Chicharito Macheda and Rooney :)

Difference between Fergie finding young players and Wenger finding young players is it seems Fergie is paying a lot of money for them, where as Wenger gets them pretty cheap compared to their ability tbh.

He must see something in him though, he wouldn't just spend £7m or so on some random ****** from Portugal.

He's got a cool nickname (H)

...and 6 years later Real Madrid will pay 70 million for him XD

The fee is large because he just signed for Vit. Guimaraes and no one would let go of a player they just signed for a cheap fee.

SAF acted quick as Madrid wanted ro sign him. Lets see what this lad is all about and people grow up, at least give him chance before writting him off.

Not sure about him, looks like he could do a job but not for a few years. Needs to be built up and taught about the English game.. hopefully Nani and Anderson can help him with the language barrier.

£7.4M is a lot of money for an unknown player, however as has been said already, Fergie wouldn't spend it if he didn't believe in this kid.

He signed for Vitoria 5 weeks ago, and because Real wanted him too Fergie has acted quickly and just paid the release clause obviously he thinks he's worth the money.

Hope he turns out to be the new Ronaldo (Portuguese gem from nowhere with a large fee).

I'm excited by the prospect of it.

Id rather trust fergie with our signings than you. oO)
