My David Beckham Story: Martin O'Neill Leaves Villa (Take two)

Europa League Group Stage!

UEFA Europa League Group Stage Drawn

View attachment 94228

After last seasons group draw Aston Villa were hoping the draw to be a bit kinder to them this time round, here goes.......

View attachment 94234

Well this years draw seems to of been much kinder to Aston Villa, just as boss David Beckham hoped for. They still will not be taking anything for granted as French side Marseille and dutch outfit FC Groningen will both prove stern challenges for Beckham's side.

Who to watch out for in the group

great story very easy to read. can you post screenies of delfouneso and wilshere to show improvements. also why didn't you go for gibbs? 8M sounds a pretty good deal

I didnt sign Gibbs for 8M as I am watching my finances and if i spent that on him, i wouldnt of been able to bring in many others in unless i went in the red!

and with warnock first choice, 8M on a second choice was a bit too much.

Tonight I think we have seen some England stars of the future, Beckham's all British/Irish transfer policy looks like it could pay off maybe not rite now but with this 4-1 thrashing of QPR the Villa fans will be looking forward to the future. Can Villa keep hold of their Carling Cup title and go all the way again, you can only find out here.

September 2010 review!

View attachment 94992View attachment 94993View attachment 94994

The season is truly underway now and this month was going to be another important one for Villa, as David Beckham's had 6 games to get stuck into involving 3 different competitions. Villa fans will be looking for a better European campaign this time round and will be looking forward to games against Marseille and FC Groningen this month.

View attachment 94995View attachment 94996View attachment 94999View attachment 95000View attachment 95001View attachment 95002

Aston Villa 3-0 Burnley. GOALS - Gabby Agbonlahor(2), Fabian Delph.

Aston Villa 1-1 Marseille. GOALS - Ashley Young, Lucho Gonzalez.

Newcastle 0-1 Aston Villa. GOALS - Carlton Cole.

Aston Villa 4-1 QPR. GOALS - Nathan Delfouneso, Kaspars Gorkss o.g, Frank Nouble, Jordan Spence, Martin Rowlands.

Aston Villa 2-2 Blackburn. GOALS - Stephen Warnock, Stewart Downing, Nikola Kalinic, Dave Kitson.

FC Groningen 1-2 Aston Villa. GOALS - Thomas Enevoldsen, Ashley Young, Gabby Agbonlahor.

Not a bad month for Villa at all, 6 games with 4 wins and 2 draws some fans will be disappointed that they couldn't make it 6 out of 6 as in both matches they gave away the lead. But this young Villa side are still learning and I believe will just keep getting stronger and stronger, fans are praising their team as they feel they are working as a team and goals are coming from attack, midfield and defence!

What has happened to Arsenal!

Arsenal fans want Wenger's head as they sit 19th in the table

View attachment 95201View attachment 95202

Arsenal fans have been protesting outside the clubs training ground asking for Arsene Wenger to be sacked. It is coming up to the 6 years now where Arsenal have failed to pick up any silverware, and the club have stayed faithful with their French manager but is it time to say bye! Last term saw Arsenal challenge all the way for the league title and and one point looked like they would run away with it, but the last 10 games or so they dropped too many points and finished 4th. This in normal circumstances would see them qualify for the Champions League however with Chelsea finishing a lowly 8th but then going on to win the Champions League this meant Arsenal were dropped into the Europa League, and since that day Arsenal have never been the same. In an interview with Aston Villa boss David Beckham he commented "There seems to be a lack of identity at the club with so many players coming from different countries. How can you expect them to communicate and play with that passion for the club if they have no knowledge of the clubs and Premier Leagues history". The Arsenal board have yet to comment on Arsene's position, but we don't think this can go on for much longer.

October 2010 review!

View attachment 95257View attachment 95258View attachment 95259

So far so good for Aston Villa in their 2010/2011 campaign, but the games are not letting up as there were another 5 games to play over the course of this month involving 3 competitions again. The local fans will have their eyes on the first fixture of the month as they are away at rivals Wolves, something to point out that last season Villa could only take 1 point of this team. Then of course Villa have 2 very difficult home fixtures against Man United and Everton, both of these teams finished above Villa last season so what will this month hold for the Villans.....full match reports below!

View attachment 95260View attachment 95261View attachment 95263View attachment 95264View attachment 95265

Wolves 2-3 Aston Villa. GOALS - Kevin Doyle, Ronald Zubar, Gabby Agbonlahor, Jack Rodwell, Stewart Downing.

Aston Villa 2-1 Man United. GOALS - Ashley Young(2), Wayne Rooney.

Grasshoppers 1-4 Aston Villa. GOALS - Dos Santos, Carlton Cole, Gabby Agbonlahor(2), Daniel Sturridge.

Reading 1-3 Aston Villa. GOALS - Shane Long, Daniel Sturridge, Ashley Young(2).

Aston Villa 2-1 Everton. GOALS - Gabby Agbonlahor, Carlton Cole, Leighton Baines.

Well what a great month for the club, 5 wins in 5 games a 100% record for this month for Beckham's all British/Irish squad. Something that Villa boss David Beckham's has picked up on in this months Premier League matches is is players strength in character as in all 3 of these games is boys came back from behind to take all 3 points. Villa will also be pleased with thier sides progress into the Quarter Finals of the Carling Cup and with that win away to Grasshoppers they look set to go into the knockout round of the Europa League, come on Villa keep it up!

November 2010 review!

View attachment 95478View attachment 95479

This was going to be a very big month for the club with a big focus on the league fixtures this month as they have already qualified from their Europa League group stage, Villa could potentially put out a weakened team. So this brings focus back to Villa's league ties, with 4 out of 5 games being played away from home, this month was going to be a tough one. Most fans will be focusing on the away fixtures at struggling Arsenal and a steady Liverpool side. Can Beckham's men retail their form from last month...only one place to find out.

This will certainly be a month for Villa fans to forget about for the majority of what they saw anyway, in 6 matches Villa only picked up 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses not good enough if Beckham's men want to keep hold of the 4th spot they have been sitting in for the past month or so. Some would say the Arsenal match could of gone either way, it was a pure classic and Villa were unlucky on the day not to take a point back home with them. As for the Liverpool result well this sent a message out to all the top clubs that they were not here just for the ride but after that Villa really struggled to keep their opponents out of their half as Villa conceded their goals in the last few minutes of the game! Beckham's comments this month were of anger at his defence and inability to score more goals considering the chnace that Villa make throughout the 90 minutes. The Villans MUST improve if they are to stay in the position they are in at the moment.

keep going! and dos santos at grasshoppers? bit of a drop in quality from barcelona

i dont really comment i am just a silent follower of a few stories..... but this one is certainly worth a comment!!!

great story mate... keep it up!! am looking forward to seeing how well you can develop this team over the coming seasons....

where do you play miles addison? he seems to score a lot

First season he played half the time as CB and the other DMC, this season he has been my first choice CB but due to injuries he has slotted into DMC again. Hes scored 10 in 64 games for me, so a good enough return from a CB, scored a couple of pens and the rest headers. He is immense........
