Cheers mate. :) I have a meeting about a trip to the Ardeche but it should be OK.

A good month for Newcastle United. Here is how we got on...

Premier League

West Ham 0-1 Newcastle (Djalo)
Upton Park can be considered one of the hardest places to come in the Premier League. This was proven today and West Ham can be frustrated that they did not get anything as they enjoyed most of the possession and shots. We never looked like winning but Djalo, on good form, can easily be the best in the league. It was his 25 yard curler that gave us a win and kept us in the top four.

Liverpool 0-3 Newcastle (Guthrie, Taylor, Djalo)
With another tough away game on the horizon, things didn't look good for us. We have been struggling for goals all season but I never expected this. Liverpool have been lacking form lately but whenever you come to Anfield, you'll be lucky to get a draw. But, our finishing and passing was world class today and we fully deserved the win. Guthrie scored the pick of the goals, scoring an opener with a stunning 30 yard free-kick.

Newcastle 1-1 Manchester City (Delf)
Yet another hard match to round off our Premier League matches for this month. We were incredibly lucky to get anything from this game with City dominating the possession and having a huge amount of shots. Fortunately, Krul was on fine form. Adebayor scored their goal at the end of the first half, but Delf who was not enjoying the start of the Premier League, grabbed the equaliser. A decent result if you ask me.

To summarise, we have had a good start to the season this year. We have a game in hand over Man Utd and Chelsea, who have both been dropping points so far. 16 points from 21 is good considering we have played Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea so far. Definitely pleased with my young squad and hopefully we'll continue this for the season.

Europa League

The Europa League is where we have really excelled this season. So far we have played Zurich and Legia and both results were great, for my team's confidence and our chances of qualifiying. Delf has continued his good Euro form and Pacheco and Sandro have also impressed. Here are the results. Both games were simple but great to see the goals flying in.

Newcastle 4-1 Zurich (Djalo x2, Sandro, Carroll)
Incidents to Note: Sandro scoring on his debut. Carroll's first goal of the season.

Legia 0-4 Newcastle (Delf x2, Djalo, Pacheco)
Incidents to Note: Delf ending goal drought. Pacheco's superb 30 yard strike.

To summarise, a brilliant start to the Europa League campaign. We have six points of the board already and we can now set our sights on qualification. We do however, still have to play Roma twice but we'll deal with that when the time comes. Delf has found his shooting boots in Europe which gave him to confidence to score against Man City. Delighted with this!

Carling Cup

Newcastle 1-0 Cardiff (Babel)
I fielded a weakened side against Cardiff. We had played 3 games in that week and the team were incredibly tired. But, in a game I expected to lose we were quite good. Babel was wasteful but in the end he scored the only goal of the game so I have to hand it to him. He has struggled to get in the team of late. Dyer and Cuvelier were impressive and Cuvelier getting Man of the Match in process. Good win!

I have to go soon, so Player of the Month, Other News and the Summary will have to wait. Sorry. :'(

Wow, awesome job mate, Newcastle are back in Europe.
How I wanted them to be. :D

Glad of that. :) Thanks for the encouragement mate. :)

Bravo Chris. If you manage to finish in the top 4 again then next season you will progress in the champions league. Keep it up, keep the finances under control and continue to excel in the Europa league. :D

Thanks for the support mate! I'll do my best. :)

What tactic & formation do you use in the prem Chris? 800k for Yannick is probably my best FM buy ever

Thanks mate. I hope you stay following. :)

'Vanden Borre Will NEVER Play Again!'

Chris Hughton has attacked Anthony Vanden Borre's comments. So far this year he has claimed:

'Hughton's Half Time team talks are harsh'- despite coming from 2-0 down to draw.

'Unhappy at First Team Competition'- despite being played and competition being youngsters.

Hughton has told the unhappy player that he is a:

'Disgrace to Newcastle United.'

'You will Never Play Again.'

Fans have come out in agreement and Hughton has immediately transfer listed the player and placed him in the Reserves. He is expected to leave in January.

Hughton has won over the fans in his time at Newcastle and this has only strengthened that bond.

The Wizard version Jack. I may give classic a go however. :)

I'm using the Beta wizard as well for my Rushden team. Might try out the Gcs version.

Thanks mate. :) I have been very busy but updates will be coming thick and fast today. :)

Great story Chris, first comment on it I believe, but I've been following.
Well done sir!

Thanks cfc.

DMF. Cheers mate. :) I was aiming to do as well as you. It will be tough though. :)
