Yeah, the bank and airport managers both said they weren't that busy so I said I'd change that.

If we didn't have as many release clauses it would have been a much quieter two windows
 
Just seen how many transfers in and out there were, thought you would have an issue with the squad gelling together but they seem to know each other pretty well already! Some very thrifty signings, love it!

Yeah I has that worry but, only four first team players have changed from last year. Always like a cheap player hence all of the deals can't miss them
 
February Update

Could we respond well to the first league loss of the season or would we crumble. The fixture list gave us the perfect chance to get back to winning ways the first round of our cup semi final against Olhanse and we also have our Champions League tie vs. Frankfurt.​

Olhanense 4-4 Porto

We only just avoid an embarrassing defeat with a late goal to save us. After 7 minutes they had a penalty and Maicon was sent off for a professional foul. They scored from the spot to put us behind and went two up after 27 minutes Mendy put us further behind his first effort from a corner hit the post and his second went in. Aboubakar pulled us a goal back after 34 minutes scoring from a penalty. After 36 minutes Carrillo levelled the game for us a loose ball after an Aboubakar shot fell to him. I had hoped that we would press on and win the game but, we fell behind a minute later Murilo placing a shot from just inside the box out of Rulli's reach. 3 minutes after half time Aboubakar levelled the game again viscously driving in a deflected cross. We again fell behind after after 56 minutes Murilo converting well when in on goal firing high and into the corner. Milik saved us from an embarrassing defeat with an 89th minute goal Mili was found in the box and his shot snuck under the keeper and went in.

Annoyingly after I had written up all of the match reports my laptop crashed so the next ones will be quick and less descriptive as I can't be bothered typing them all again.​

We get a good win we fell behind early on but, Aboubakar got us level. Milik scored late either side of an Arouca goal to get us the three points.​

Porto 2-0 Frankfurt

A big win and clean sheet as we get a good position for the second leg. Moreto Cassama in his second game for Porto a Lavezzi cross deflected and fell to him and he smashed it into the top corner to put us up after 38 minutes. Milik missed a great chance but, made amends with an 81st minutes header that hit the bar and post then went in. We should get into the next round if we can get 1 away goal.

Due to injuries picked up in the game Lavezzi will miss 10 days Carrillo 3 weeks and Joao 1 month

We hammer Braga as Aboubakar grabs a hat trick on his return from injury. Aboubakar volleyed in two crosses and scored a towering header to get a first half hat trick. Milik scored just after half time when played in. Braga scored when in on goal as Rulli made a hash of the save.​

Do I have to describe this again? Castagne who got sent off had the second highest rating that should tell you all you have to know. The fourth goal he beat all of our defenders but, hit his shot right at Rulli who palmed it in.​

Uniao Madeira 2-4 Porto

Due to injuries and suspensions I had no fullbacks so went for a 3-1-2-3-1. A big win as we trailed twice and went down to ten men. Iturbe scored a good goal to level after we fell behind to a penalty. Madeira led soon after but, Aboubakar gabbed a brace and Lavezzi scored a tap in to get us the win. Velasquez who is looking like a complete waste of money got a red card late on after the third goal.​

Only my second home defeat as a lack of strikers punish us. Estoril scored two in 7 minutes at the end of the first half before Andre Silva pulled a goal back with a great header.​

Two Porto youngsters got the goals. Cassama volleyed in a cross after playing a big part in the build up and Verdasca tapped in a corner at the back post after it went past 5 Frankfurt defenders.​

Thanks I've pulled rulli out of the starting lineup as he has been very poor so hopefully that helps. If we have another poor month we could have some worry but, I think we can stay on top
 
March Update

A few league games and the cup semi final second leg along with the draw for the Champions League Quarter Final.​

Moreirense 2-2 Porto

A late goal sees us drop two points to Moreirense and we cannot shake off our stuttering form. Balanta put us ahead after 25 minutes heading in a Bueno free kick at the near post. Moreirense levelled the game after an hour Maxwell with a great strike from outside the box. Andre Silva had us back in front a few minutes later Iturbe hit the post and Andre Silva smacked in the rebound. Boateng equalised for Moreirense after 87 minutes Boateng sliding in to knock in a cross.​

Porto 4(8-5)1 Olhanense

We got into the final with a rotated side getting past Olhanense at home with Andre Silva getting a hat trick. Andre Silva got us ahead after 25 minutes volleying in a Joao Pedro. Bueno scored a penalty on the half hour to extend our lead. Andre Silva had us three goals up after 32 minutes getting in at the back post and knocking in a Carrillo cross. Andre Silva got his hat trick after 43 minutes volleying in a Lavezzi cross. Olhanense pulled a goal back before half time Gonzalez scoring the rebound of a Mendy shot. A good win as we get into the final.​

Another poor result in the league as we fall to Sporting at home. Jairo scored a second half brace to sink us. He scored his first after 54 minutes a Mane rebound fell to him and he fired it into the roof of the net. He got his second after 73 minutes on a counter firing in a great shot on the counter. The poor league results are stacking up as we are losing control of the league.​

We get a first win in the league this month as two goals from Argentinians get us past. Lavezzi got us ahead after 64 minutes beating a defender to get into the box and firing his shot in off the bar. Iturbe doubled the lead after 68 minutes volleying in a Carrillo cross from a very tight angle. A good much needed win before the international break.​

Maritimo 1-2 Porto

Two early goals get us past Maritimo. Carrillo scored inside the first minute Lavezzi headed down a Milik cross to him and he volleyed it past the keeper form 12 yards out. After 5 minutes we were two up Lavezzi scoring he got onto a Carrillo cross but his first effort was saved but, he turned in the rebound. Eurico scored from a loose ball from a corner after 77 minutes but, we held on. The win qualifies us for the Champions League.​

April Update

A big month as we have our Champions League tie and three more league games.​

Porto 5-1 P. Ferreira

A convincing win to start the moth out. Herrera opened the scoring after five minutes a goos shot from 14 yards out hit the underside of the bar and went in. Adama Traore doubled the lead nine minutes later Carrillo crossed in and he volleyed it in at the back post. After 18 minutes Herrera grabbed his second a Joao Pedro cross was headed out and Herrera took a touch and then from 20 yards out blasted an effort into the postage stamp of the goal. Iturbe grabbed the next goal after 56 minutes he went on a great run past a couple of defenders and the fired an effort from twenty yards past the keeper and in. Mike scored for Ferrerira after 70 minutes a free kick was headed back to him and he hit his shot low and hard past Begovic. Andre Silva got a late goal volleying in a Joao Pedro cross.​

A good first leg result as we win by two but, it could have been so much better. Rodrigo Dourado returns from injury as well. For the first 35 minutes we dominated but, Buffon was unbeatable as he stopped everything. Aboubakar finally beat him after 36 minutes Joao Pedro hit in a cross from deep that went over all of Juve's defenders and Aboubakar grabbed it just before it crossed the line for a goal kick beat a defender and from a tight angle he put everything behind his effort and Buffon couldn't tip it away. A minute later Lavezzi doubled the lead a corner was half cleared and he got it breezed past two players and then hit a low shot through the crowd that beat Buffon and put us two up. We lead by two at half time Cassama came on at half time as we changed to a 4-2-3-1. Cassama set up a Lavezzi goal two minutes later he played in Lavezzi and he placed his effort beyond Buffon's reach to get us three goals up. Cassama then got a goal of his own two minutes later to get us four goals up. Lavezzi picked him out on the edge of the box and he swivelled and his first time strike left Buffon with no chance as it went into the bottom corner. At this point Juve realised that they needed goals so pushed forwards. Asamoah scored after 55 minutes rounding off a great counter by slotting in when in on goal. Dybala hitting in a cross that Mandzukic acrobatically volleyed in. The match ended the opposite to how it began with Begovic making some great saves to keep our lead at two goals. Juve's two goals give them a chance in the home leg.​

We beat Juve to get into the Champions League Semi Final. Two first half goals saw us through. Carrillo gave us the lead after 5 minutes Buffon dropping a straight forward shot from Herrera and Carrillo was first to it and slammed it in. Lavezzi doubled our lead on the night after 22 minutes a great passing move saw Adama Traore play him in and Lavezzi calmly slotted past Buffon. Dybala had a chance just before half time to put some life into the game but, his penalty was saved by Begovic who had another big day.​

Benfica slipped up and we take advantage to go within one win on the title. Aboubakar opened the scoring after nine minutes volleying a Carrillo cross into the far corner. Carrillo doubled our lead after 30 minutes Zeca hit the bar with a volley Aboubakar's rebound effort was saved but, Carrillo fired in the last rebound to put us two up. Aboubakar wrapped up the scoring after 38 minutes Bueno played him in and he fired high into the goal.​

We only just get the title winning win. Aboubakar scored after 17 minutes a Bueno cross got through to him and he made no mistake firing high away from the keeper. Freamunde levelled the game after 56 minutes Ansumane hit in a cross and Jogo volleyed it in from near the penalty spot. An own goal after 83 minutes got us the win that we needed Andre Silva hit in a cross that went off of Komar and wrong footed the keeper to go in. A lucky goal got us the title but, we deserved the title overall.​

Kickoff

25th Minute First big chance of the game Silva heads a Joao Pedro throw in back to him and then heads away his cross to Herrera he passes to Adama Traore on the edge of the box. Traore passes to Carrillo in the box who gives it back to him past the last defender Traore slips his shot in at the near post to put Porto a goal up.

29th Minute A Cavani long ball plays in Ibra but, he can't get away from the defenders he lays the ball of to Cavaleiro in the box but, he shoots over.

36th Minute From a Kurzawa throw Di Maria gets the ball and threads it to Ibra in the box Begovic tips his effort behind for a corner. The corner breaks down and Ibra has a shot held by Begovic.

Half Time

PSG 0-1 Porto

Doing well but, hanging on a bit and will need to stay solid defensively.

56th Minute Di Maria picks out Cavini on the wing he cuts inside to get into the box and fires a curler but, it goes just outside the far post.

62nd Minute PSG passing the ball around outside the box they get in the box to Aurier he is tackled and the loose ball falls to Cavani his shot is poor and easily held by Begovic.

83rd Minute PSG push forward and try to ****** an equaliser. A Luiz long throw is cleared but, PSG keep the ball and work it wide to Yarmolenko he puts in a cross to Babacar two yards out. Babacar heads over and misses a great chance.

84th Minute Verrati gets the ball wide to Cavliero and he gets past Zeca and puts a great cross into the six yard box. Yarmolenko gets onto the end of it and smacks on target but, Begovic gets across to make a incredible save and keep us ahead.

90th Minute An awful goal kick by Sirigu plays in Traore can he get a second goal. No he fires right at Sirigu.

90+3 Full time Porto win and get a one goal lead to take home as they look for another Champions League final.

Over the weekend we hosted Vit. Seutbal in a game I played a heavily rotated side for and we drew 0-0 with Iturbe hitting the post in the 92nd minute.

Porto hold a one goal lead from an Adama Traore and have one away goal. PSG will need to win on the night and if they do so scoring more than one goal they will go through.

Porto have a side by comparison with Joao Pedro the only player to cost over 10 million and a lot of cheap players. They will be looking to get to a first final since 2004 under Mourinho.

Kickoff

7th minute A Zeca throw in is headed out the box and Rodrigo Dourado raced onto it and absolutely pelted and effort that was well held by Sirigu.

14th minute A David Luiz long throw is cleared and Porto clear the ball and counter. Traore plays it long to Aboubakar who holds the ball up. Silva takes it from him and passes to Laporte who gives it to Sirigu. He kicks it right to Carrillo and he hits it first time Aboubakar powerfully volleys in the cross but, is correctly called offside.

16th minute Another Luiz long throw is cleared but, this one to him. He passes to Cavani inside the box but, Cavani from a good position shoots well over.

26th minute Porto should be a goal up. A Zeca cross is cleared to Herrera who finds Joao Pedro free out wide he plays in Carrillo but, his shot is weak and easily saved.

34th minute Dourado finds Carrillo out wide he cuts the ball back to Joao Pedro who has a cross blocked back to him. He plays a 1-2 with Dourado to find space and whips in a cross that Traore takes a touch from and then fires low and hard past the keeper from close range. Porto lead 2-0.

Half Time

PSG need two goals to go through and will have to push which will leave them exposed on the counter

65th Minute Herrera finds Zeca out wide unmarked Zeca runs into the box and from a tight angle unleashes a shot that slams into the side netting. Probably should have crossed from that angle.

68th Minute Di Maria hits a long ball to play in Zlatan with Maicon breathing down his neck he shoots over from 20 yards out.

75th Minute Ibra let in again he opts to shoot early with pressure from Maicon and his thirty yard effort is never troubling Begovic.

80th Minute Veratti swings in a free kick 35 yards out. Maicon heads it away and Aboubakar gets to it first. He plays it Zeca near the halfway line who hits in forward in one touch to Traore he runs with it to the edge of the box beats a man and chips the ball to Aboubakar in the middle 18 yards out 1 on 1 he takes one touch to control and the second fires a low shot into the bottom corner. 3-0 up and Porto all but, in the final.

The Irrelevant League Games

We had two league games that meant nothing although the last one was against cup final opponent Belenenses, which is the only Portuguese top level tournament that I haven't one.

Academica 1-2 Porto

Aboubakar and Andre Silva both grabbed goals as we won to relegate Academica, who also missed a penalty that could have given them a chance of staying up.

In an end to end game we won with a late goal by Bueno to give us a small edge before the cup final a week later Milik grabbed a brace and Carrillo grabbed a goal.

Kickoff

Porto kick the game off Herrera got the ball passed back to him and knocked the ball back to Balanta he hit a long ball up to Aboubakar he took it down and laid it off to Lavezzi who made a run behind the defence he was tackled and the ball went to Bueno who played it wide to Carrillo he whipped in a cross and and Aboubakar got up and headed it in to the back post. Porto lead after 17 seconds a great start.

34th minute Riascos gets the ball a distance out from goal and he moves up and fired an effort over from 30 yards.

Half Time

Porto 1-0 Belenenses


61st Minute Miguel Rosa stands over a free kick 22 yards out. He smacks it into the top corner and levels the final with a stunning free kick. 1-1

67th Minute Lavezzi gets the ball in the box on the edge of the six yard box and cuts it across goal Aboubakar slams the shot in to put Porto back in front.

78th Minute Karamos gets played in down the wing and cuts a cross back for Rosa to poke into an unguarded goal at the back post. The tie is level again late on.

87th Minute Zeca stands over a corner and whips it in. Herrera heads it on at the near post and Maicon arrives at the back post and jumps to volley it in and the back post and surely win the Taca de Portugal for Porto.

89th Minute Seconds after the kick off Gilson is sent off for a two footed lunge on Carrillo.

Champions League Final

Europe's best club award the Champions League sees the free spending Manchester City go up against the profitable selling Porto. City go in as a decent favourite and the holders aiming to be the first team to retain the modern version of the Champions League.

City haven't changed the first eleven greatly for the last few years. Porto have had quite a large squad overhaul last summer but, have gelled quickly to get this far.

Kickoff

1st Minute Herrera gets the ball to Carrillo wide in space, Carrillo hit in a cross that Lavezzi volleyed at the back post. Hart saved the initial effort and Lavezzi could only hit him with the rebound from a tight angle.

6th Minute Silva with a beautiful pass to play in Aguero 1 on 1 with Begovic. Aguero gets his shot past Begovic but, he sliced it well wide of the target, a massive let off for Porto.

10th minute Nasri with a nice turn plays in De Bruyne he tries to fire over Begovic but, he stands tall and blocks the effort before Dourado hooks away the rebound.

15th minute Joao Pedro gets free down the wing and whips in a great cross that Aboubakar met with a towering header. Hart was beaten and the header went just wide of the post as it stayed nil nil.

16th Minute Nasri finds De Bruyne in the box he gets it to Aguero, Maicon put in a great tackle but, the ball fell to Sterling who smacked a first time effort that beat Begovic but, didn't curl back in enough to go in.

19th Minute A nice City move saw De Bruyne finds Bernat out on the left in space he got to the goal line and the cut the ball back just out the reach of Begovic and leaving Aguero a tap in that he took. City goal a goal up thanks to Aguero.

21st Minute Herrera plays a great ball over the top to play in Lavezzi from a tight angle his effort was at Hart and he parried it behind for a corner.

29th Minute Silva again plays in Aguero and despite the tight angle he is able to bend his shot around Begovic and in. City two goals up inside the first half hour could this get ugly.

32nd Minute Aguero found De Bruyne out wide and he found Silva inside and he beat a man in the box and then hammered a shot that was past Begovic but, smacked off the bar and bounced away to safety.

41st Minute Porto launch a counter from a corner Aboubakar gets the ball out wide and hits a cross into the edge of the box that Lavezzi met with first time effort that Hart did well to tip behind for a corner.

45th Minute Sterling cuts into the box from out wide and passes to Silva instead of shooting he picks out De Bruyne at the far side who fires a low effort that Begovic somehow knocks behind.

Half Time

Man City 2-0 Porto

City have dominated but, Porto remain a threat on the counter but, will need to improve to get both goals back. Milik replaces Traore as Porto go 4-4-2 to try and pull level.

Second Half kick off

52nd Minute Porto counter and Aboubakar heads the ball down to Milik a bit wide of the goal 20 yards out Milik let loose and it beat Hart but, went just wide of the goal.

56th Minute Aguero gets the ball and runs at the defence he beats the last man to get in on goal out wide and fires a low effort but, Begovic is equal to it and knocks it behind.

70th Minute City hit in a free kick that Porto clear and counter it gets to Aboubakar who plays it to Lavezzi who knocks it to Joao Pedro who does a give and go with him and Pedro crosses from just outside the box Milik was at the near post and twisted to powerfully volley it past Hart. Porto need one more goal.

78th Minute Aguero turns provider slipping in Silva but, Begovic makes a great save to keep Porto in the game. Andre Silva comes on as Porto go three up top.

86th Minute Aguero is in again and fire just wide to keep Porto in the game.

88th Minute Aguero plays in Jay Rodriguez but, Begovic makes a great double save to stop him adding to City's lead.

Despite only joining in October Zivkovic was in unstoppable form and no one was able to stop him, he was to good for the league.

Rui Pedro was the top scorer in the league and will hopefully get some higher quality football next year. Him and Zivkovic are both in the team of the year.

It was a clean sweep for Porto Carrillo took the award and Aboubakar and Lavezzi were behind him in the peking order. It is surprising that Aboubakar didn't win the award but, Carrillo is a deserving winner.

Carrillo recorded the most assists in he league hitting in quality balls to Aboubakar, Milik and Lavezzi. His 13 assists was two more than Gaitan in second place.

Again we have two players either side of Jonas. Aboubakar was well ahead and Milik had the lowest goal's per minute ratio scoring almost a goal per hour.
