The defender who made all the mistakes started the game with an average rating of 7.72 for the season......he ended the match with a 3.4....which has to be the worst match rating I've ever seen for any player on FM!

My team has just totally fell apart at xmas! unbeaten, top of the league then boom. lose 7 in a row with no goals.

Same thing. Yesterday everything looking rosy as I head into the final stretch of the season. Now I can't get a win from anywhere, my defence is full of holes and my strikers have forgotten how to shoot.

Only thing that's changed is the **** release version!
 
Started as usual with Utd. Won all friendly's and won the shield vs Wigan. As of now its December and I am 19th in the table and have won just one 1 game in all comps. I don't know why but the A.I just has a field day with my team, 20 plus shots at goal every game and cant keep hold of the ball in midfield no matter what I try lol. I dunno never had this problem with Utd on FM before but I am up for the challenge.

Nvm just got sacked lol, my first ever sacking since good ol champ manager 95

Strikers not scoring at all, and players ratings are shocking and playing as united and my team is avr 6.5 nearly everygame.

You should try not to hold ball, since the other teams will apply hard tackle on player, plus tight marking. Try to use the flanks and play open to stretch their defenses and play fast.

Cross to the center of the box, having a good header works for me. Pizarro scored 4 in one game and Mandzukic scored 5 against Leverkusen away.
 
You know what I can't stand - when your goalie throws the ball straight to the opposition striker with a min on the clock and you lose because of him.
 
Frustrated that I can't add money to my team in my save...have bought some players already but I need more, but i won't let me change!!!
just goes back to what it was last time...
I'm talking about the RTE in-game
 
Also getting sick of having 4/5 CCC's and constantly missing them, seeing my player set himself from 2yrds out and still miss...

Sheesh, I wonder when my own defense is going to, like, start tackling and marking at all. Seems as if fullbacks and central defenders were changed to "Left Escort, Central Escort, Right Escort".

Feels like opponents score every single time they get a shot on goal
 
I'm still annoyed that the whole scouting methods and scouting knowledge are still the same, really hoped they would improve on this. don't get me wrong it's more aesthetically pleasing but it could work so much better and it should incorporate youth academies and allow you set up academies abroad based on your knowledge and help you generate better regens from areas you want etc!!

8 goals this season now on a 12 match goalless streak....

What to do? his morale is high, and he has plenty of chances but he puts the 1v1 outside the goal or straight on the gk. not to mention he heads like a crackwhore on the crosses...
 
Since the last patch/full game launch my defenders and def-mids have turned into pudding. The opposition just runs past them and they dont even atempt to tackle, they just track back and eventually if a winger crosses into the ?rea you have 6 players in or around the penalty box, they obviously either fail to mark anyone or clear the ball outside the box where two or three opposition players are always alone just waiting to pounce on it. i've tried everything, higher d-line, stronger tackling, more closing down, but nothing seems to work. i havent seen one of my players make a successful tackle in a couple of matches now, although in the stats it shows that they do tackle, and quite successfully, just cant see it happen and get run-over by weaker teams that i was beating before the patch. it has rendered my save unplayable. all i can do is wait for a nother patch, and it is so frustrating. Before this patch i noticed that some players, especial wing-backs were getting too good ratings and too many tackles. SI has obviously tried to tone this down, but i think they've gone too far. Getting positive ratings is a nightmare now and the opposition looks much more dinamic on and off the ball, in a way that apparently i just cant achieve, no matter what formation or style of play i try. Its like diferente rules apply to both teams. I still manage to win a few games, but its an absolute grind. Im not saying the game should be easier, just more coherent. Anyway... needed to vent this... lol i hope they solve this soon, coz im having no fun at all with this game now, when just two days or three ago, before the last patch of the beta, i was having the time of my life. Remember last year we went through exactly the same issues with the match engine and patches, was hoping it would be diferente this year.
 
Sick of the game already, pretty much because of the match engine and tactics. Played as some big teams so far just to get the hang of it ( Liverpool, Man City, Barcelona) but I'm just sick of the awful defending (especially the defenders dropping deep), the goalkeeping mistakes and my strikers being useless in front of goal whilst the opposition plays out of its skin. The tactics system doesn't seem to work for me, with the player instructions seemingly doing nothing. Also since the official release I dont seem to be able have players swap position.
Most of the rest of the game seems good, the transfer system is improved, but there is only so much fun you can have if the match engine is broken.
Like the poster before me, I think that SI have overcompensated for some of the beta problems, and just hope a new patch is released soon.
Time to go back to CM03/04 for a while I think

AI Shots on Goal vs Goals Ratio

I have been having this constant issue with AI scoring at each attempt at goal.

And I am having 7 - 20 shots on target but not being to put the ball in the back of the net most of the times.

I am sure this is a glitch as I have seen this issue being reported by a handful of individuals already.
 
You know, it's very, very difficult to play possession football when your keeper hoofs the ball to the opposition every time.

Player Instructions on your GK and set him to distribute it short... easily resolved :)
