That's semantics. Influencing / teaching. Same thing.
It has EVERYTHING to do with fundamentals, because without influencing / teaching your players - apparently world class human racehorses paid vast fortunes for kicking a ball around - they aren't fit to be on the pitch.
If they are so appalling at the basics of their job that you have to hold their hand and say "please don't shoot at the goalkeeper every ******* time you have a chance"... how did they become such international names in the first place?
Through a process of logic we can therefore conclude that either the match engine is ******, and we have to find workarounds to get it to function as it should, or SI have no ******* clue about what strikers can and should do from the get-go.
He's saying a free kick take shouldn't have it. Which I agree with. For some reason it makes them horrible, horrible takers
My "shoot with power" strikers don't seem to do well either, it's kind of a negative trade-off -> less shots on-target, but occasionally one of the on-target ones wrecks the GK.
You're over egging and missing the point.
There's a literal **** ton of examples of players who've improved/changed their style of play under a specific manager.
This is "Post your frustration thread". Frustrations happen in real life football, when one mentions it necessarily doesn't mean it's complaint against match engine. I mentioned offside one as bug, I just laughed off at this when this happened.Did you read anything of what I said?
I just told you that it effects the LIKELIHOOD. An opposition player pulling off a great pass when pressured by four players isn't a bug. What could possibly be a bug is if they're doing it repeatedly despite terrible attributes. Oh, and FYI, if they are doing that then lol what the **** are you doing with your tactics that means you're unsuccessfully pressing with FOUR players.
Jumping and heading aren't the only things that effect heading, I hope you realise. Besides that, height and ability in the air doesn't mean that one player will always be better than another, like I've been saying. ****, Barry Bannan once won a header against Nikola Zigic. If they tried that one hundred times, even a thousand times, Bannan would win that ball maybe twice, but that's just how it happens. Doesn't mean there was a 'bug' in real life, doesn't mean there's a bug in game when it happens.
It really isn't easy to get your team constantly pressing for 90 minutes, in the game or in real life. It is also the reason why high lines can be destroyed badly like Tottenham's under Sherwood and AVB. Also buying 7 odd players in every transfer window doesn't work very well in this regard. It would be nice seeing also 4 of my players hassling the opponent with the ball. Hassle / Close Down sucks in this FM.
So something I've noticed is that strikers with too many preferred moves and especially with "shoots with power" are TERRIBLE at scoring. "Shoots with power" seems to be an extremely detrimental move
Erm, I've only had success with strikers that HAVE this PPM. Romelu Lukaku, Alek Mitrovic, and regen strikers. It's the first thing I focus on when I get a striker with at least 15 strength and finishing. It's players without that PPM I struggle with, well, except Carlos Fierro.
Interesting, exact opposite for me. I focus on dribbling, technique, composure and finishing for my strikers, and avoid "Shoots with Power" at all costs.
My tactical system requires a good Target Man. My TM usually gets a lot of assists as he brings down long aerial balls for wingers to put them in, so shoots with power is like PPM I usually teach my TMs, works fine for me.
The only time it worked the way you're explaining is (the occasional wondergoal and else meh) was when my player also had "Shoots from distance" PPM.
I play with Poachers, False 9's, and Complete Forwards. Most of my goals are just tap-ins from crosses, shots placed into corner at close range, or beating the keeper 1v1 by rounding him.
It sounds like if a PPM doesn't fit directly into a tactical system it completely gimps the striker.
WORST OFFSIDE CALL I'VE SEEN IN 14.3 (LIU HAORAN'S GOAL DISALLOWED)

Yep, I've seen similar stuff called offside when (conveniently for the AI team) my player is through one on one.
