Ra?l Gonz?lez Blanco - The Prince of Madrid returned.

Do you play Benzia as a single front man in a 4231? I've got him at Arsenal and I play a 4231 with a poacher. Can't seem to get him going just yet.

I do mate, I play him as an Advanced Forward with often the two wingers being Inside Forwards slipping through balls to him.

UEFA Champions League Quarter Final First Leg
Wednesday 4th April 2018
Signal Iduna Park

Dortmund 0 - 1 West Brom
Benzia (45+2')

MOTM: Henrikh Mkhitaryan

We come away with a vital away goal and a win from the almighty Signal Iduna. The fans at Dortmund are the best and loudest I have ever seen, they didn't get to the players though as they rose through the occasion and bring a lead back to England.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 7th April 2018

The Hawthorns

West Brom 3 - 1 Swansea
Hughes (31', 40'), Douglas Costa (52')

MOTM: Will Hughes

We are closing in on the seasons end and every game is more tense, Swansea made it easier for us as they had a man sent off in the 2nd minute due to a two footed lunge. From there on we didn't look back.

UEFA Champions League Quarter Final Second Leg
Tuesday 10th April 2018

The Hawthorns

West Brom 2 - 0 Dortmund (3-0 agg)
Zouma (15'), Benzia (46')

MOTM: Doria

We are through to the semi's once again for the 3rd consecutive season. We battled hard and succeeded against a strong Dortmund team possessing the likes of Marco Reus, Cristian Benteke and Adnan Januzaj.

West Brom v Real Madrid

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 15th April 2018
The City Ground

Notts Forest 1 - 2 West Brom
Benzia (3'), Mkhitaryan (49'), Zouma sent off

MOTM: Yassine Benzia

A close shave here at The City Ground, after Kurt Zouma was sent off we was left sweating but we had to go for the win as if City gain any more points on us then it can easily be over like that. A reply after the break from Henrikh won us the game.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 21st April 2018

The Hawthorns

West Brom 2 - 0 Hull
Mkhitaryan (21'), Ljajic (90')

MOTM: Henrikh Mkhitaryan

A solid win by two goals against Hull today and we are holding off the nerves. Henrikh has shown a rich vein of form recently and the best he has shown since he's been here when we need it most.

UEFA Champions League Semi Final First Leg
Tuesday 24th April 2018

The Hawthorns

West Brom 0 - 3 Real Madrid

MOTM: Gareth Bale

We was sunk today by a expensive Real Madrid team who showed why they are the best club in the world today and we will need a minor miracle if we are to go to the Bernabau and turn this tie around.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 28th April 2018

Anfield

Liverpool 0 - 0 West Brom

MOTM: Michal Kisel

Not much to seperate either team and none of the teams really had clear cut chances. Our chances on the league now depend on Man City's result at Notts Forest. We still are flowing with confidence and shall carry on.

UEFA Champions League Semi Final Second Leg
Wednesday 2nd May 2018

Santiago Bernabau

Real Madrid 1 - 0 West Brom (4-0 agg)

MOTM: Elias Bolivar

We crash out yet again at the semi-finals but a much more cultured performance this time round. Against the greatest team of the competition it's not shame to go out to them and I wish my old club the best luck in the final. We will eventually get there.

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 6th May 2018

Britannia Stadium

Stoke 1 - 3 West Brom
Benzia (13', 33'), Doria (84')

MOTM: Doria

We take it to the last game of the season where if City win against Liverpool they will be three points clear of us going into the final game but that is a late kick-off and we can only hope for a Liverpool win.

We take it into the last game of the season!!!

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 13th May 2018

The Hawthorns

West Brom 1 - 0 West Ham
Bolivar (90+2')

MOTM:
Elias Bolivar

We have done our bit and won and as far as we know if Man City have dropped points against Hull then we are champions but if they win, the title will return to the Etihad. A last minute goal from young fullback secured us the win and hopefully the league!

Final League Table:

Losing the league on Goal Difference, a very hard thing to take and comparing our spending budget to Man City is a big difference. Still the positives are we set a new points record and any other season it would have been enough to secure the league.

I'm delighted with the teams performance this year and although we won no trophies barring the Community Shield we was stronger than this time last year. We actually look like a team almost complete, not forgetting four years ago we was a mid-table average Premiership side we have come a long way in the process.

My Player Of The Season:

'The Skipper'

This guy has been the vocal point of everything this year and is building a solid partnership with his other partner (Kurt Zouma). Not only has he been solid at the back keeping teams out but going forward his aerial threat has managed to get us a fair share on goals and is an all round great presence in the dressing room for the rest of the team.

My Young Player Of The Season:

Will Hughes

The youngster who arrived from Derby last summer has really settled into the midfield this year and made the position his own. His passing range is unbelievable and he is still growing as a player which is the most pleasing thing, he has such a bright future ahead of him in the game.

Profit Made: 100.5M

A very interesting window, we let go of some players that was excellent for us last year and received massive fees. Benzia, Hughes and Mkhitaryan combined was over 100m. I felt I could replace Benzia as he was scoring alot but the service provided to him was more of the fact. Henrikh was approaching 30 and with Halilovic coming back from a loan I think he is ready, the only player I didn't want to let go was Will Hughes but every player has their price and he will be a future England legend in the game. We also made quite a profit on players brought in on free's last year and loaned out for game time. Whereas the arrivals are very very exciting.. James Rodriguez, Kondogbia and Soto will be the names to watch out for and they was brought in for a combined fee of.. nothing. Our squad depth has improved massively this season and we will look forward to running the club as a business aswell as having success on the pitch.

Pre-Season Friendlies:

Colorado 1 - 0 West Brom

Columbus 1 - 2 West Brom
O.G. (82'), Zouma (87')

Chivas USA 1 - 3 West Brom
Petkovic (37'), O.G. (46'), Douglas Costa (76')

Leeds 0 - 0 West Brom

D.C. United 1 - 3 West Brom
O.G. (51'), Carr (89'), Doria (90+3')

We have had some good solid results during our tour of the U.S.A. and it has prepared us massively for the season ahead, we have more strength in depth this year and the available quality is much more than last season but the big news everybody has been waiting for is below.

THE BIG NEWS!!

The West Brom board are delighted to announce their plans on building a new stadium have been granted and the construction of the stadium is estimated to be around 171m. The brand new state of the art stadium will have a capacity of just under 52,000. It has also been designed by one of the best architects in the world who has described the stadium as Unique and you won't find another stadium like it. If on schedule, the stadium should be ready in just under two years. This is one of the reasons that I signed a long term deal with West Brom as the chairman want me here and have a vision to make the club the best in the world.

West Brom

Ruiz Diaz (8', 20', 71'), Ioannou (46')

MOTM: Emmanuel Ruiz Diaz

What a fantastic start to the season, we have beaten our closest rivals on the opening day of the season and we battered them, the matchball goes home with the Argentinian Ruiz Diaz today after an excellent performance.

Barclays Premier League

St. James' Park

Newcastle 0 - 1 West Brom
Gabriel Barbosa (18')

MOTM: Orhan Demirer

A single goal was enough today to see off the toon. Playing at St. James' is always tricky for any opposition but Gabriel Barbosa showed us a little glimpse of what we are in for this year with a goal on his debut.

New stadium, nice (H)

When Bayern offered you the job could you say that you would stay if they made a new stadium or something similar?

Just wondering, is there a set time each day that you'll update or is it just whenever you feel like it/whenever you can?

Usually after 4-5 pm I start after college but each day it varies really.

Read the whole thread in last few hours, it's 3:30 AM, I was supposed to be studying for tomorrow's test, curse you! :P AWESOME! read, one of the best I've ever read. I can't describe how magical journey it has been for me as someone who loves managing West Brom on FM, they're the first club I jump to on FM.

Cheers mate!

Looking forward to future posts. This is the first story I've followed and I'm really, really impressed. Very well structured and worded and you're working miracles at West Brom! TEACH ME :D

Barclays Premier League
Sunday 2nd September 2018
The Hawthorns

West Brom
2 - 0 Notts Forest
Gabriel Barbosa (4'), Soto (70')

MOTM: Andres Soto

We delivered a assuring performance today, both of our strikers was on touch to score and we kept a clean sheet, a professional performance which was controlled by the midfield and I am delighted with the way we played.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 15th September 2018

DW Stadium

Wigan 3 - 0 West Brom

MOTM: Robert Snodgrass

I can only shy away from such a terrible result as we was horrific today compared to our last outing when we looked defensively solid and a threat going forward at all times. It ruins our good start to the league and I have got to apologize to the fans who made the away trip today as they was made to watch that performance.

UEFA Champions League Group Stage
Wednesday 19th September 2018

Estadio da Luz

Benfica 0 - 3 West Brom
Reinilson (45+3'), Gabriel Barbosa (54'), Halilovic (77')

MOTM: Reinilson

That's a way to bounce back from our previous result. Top seed in the group and winners of the competition two years ago Benfica poised a strong line up but was no match for us as we came to Portugal and 'we came, we saw and we conquered'.

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 22nd September 2018

The Hawthorns

West Brom 3 - 0 Fulham
Douglas Costa (13'), O.G. (37'), Soto (68')

MOTM: Andres Soto

The Argentinian man, Soto capped off yet another fantastic game with a goal and also this week was awarded with his first cap for Argentina, since joining from Monterrey on a free transfer he has been a regular in the team and at only 21 has plenty of time to get even better.

Capital One Cup Third Round
Tuesday 25th September 2018

The Stadium Of Light

Sunderland 1 - 2 West Brom
Trindade de Vilhena (12'), Nilton (33')

MOTM: Tonny Trindade de Vilhena

In traditional fashion, in the Capital One Cup I gave the fringe players to show me their worth and they did just that! Controlling possession with 68% all game was a key factor and the Man Of The Match, Tonny Trindade de Vilhena finished the match with a 94% passing success and also got a goal and a assist in the process, a performance that stood out and has him in good stead for the future.

Capital One Cup Fourth Round draw:
West Brom v Notts Forest

Barclays Premier League
Saturday 29th September 2018

Old Trafford

Man Utd 0 - 0 West Brom

MOTM: Baba Rahman

Delighted to go to Old Trafford and take something away, not many teams usually do and many teams won't this season. A clean sheet against a top team, we have kept a clean sheet in every game bar one this season in the Barclays Premier League, something we can look to sustain.
