Not really a fan of the home kit, just dont really like the design on it. The away one I like a lot, the combination of the 2 shades of green with the golden trim works great, but I think the colour is a bit too close too the home kit.

The colours are actually loosely based on the current home and away colours but thanks for the feedback mate |)

wkdsoul, as someone who has requested kits from you before I have to say you definitely do a lot of good work, and looking through your folder shows that even more. Only criticism I'd give is that you could sometimes do team badges a bit bigger (take those Leeds kits for instance, perhaps it's just me but the badges look way too small). Other than that, your work is very impressive.

Anyway, anyone willing to rate these kits here, which just happen to be the first ones I've ever made myself?

Any and all critique is much appreciated.

Yeah defo on those, did them awhile ago, so there from my early template, i think some of the more recent are better.

I'm currently doin shirts for all the NFL/MLB/NHL/NBA teams and some DC/Marvel teams, should have some more 2d and 3d ones next week. ish.

I LOVE the Gotham logo, the Oakland one looks very cool too. But why do the Detroit Lions have a tiger on their logo?

Not too keen on the Stark Industries one and I think the Yankees one is a tad plain (though maybe that's the idea), but that Gotham Knights kit and badge, as well as how you've incorporated the Buccaneers ship onto the kit, are simply excellent.

Currently continuing to go through making kits for English non-league teams I like. This time it's FC Elmstead:

Yh the Yankees kit was too iconic to think a FC team would play in anything else, i should probably stick the mlb logo on the sleeve or something or pick a sponser with a snappier logo to get it to stand out a bit more.

Quality Work Weiry, the dragons badge and shirt are superb.

Loving those kits Weiry, particularly the one with the dragon. Top quality work.

A couple more from me, this time for Gravesham Borough:

I always seem to have trouble with getting the colours right on these, but I've heard that using mode D in SSD is better for this? I just wanted to know if using that rather than mode A would allow me to do better kits and spend less time worrying about the colours.

That first Lyon kit and the Arsenal one are unconventional designs, but in the best possible way. Not too keen on the other two Lyon kits, but I think that's just a matter of taste. Objectively speaking though, they're all top quality, that's for sure.

Another couple from me, this time made using mode D rather than mode A in Smart Shirt Designer 2. Personally, I think the colours look better and more natural like this, but what does everyone else think?

Smart Shirt Designer 2 - never heard of this - it a simple program to use?

Essentially it gives you loads of kit templates, collars and kit manufacturers to work with to get the actual kit design (there's also an advanced mode to combine kit templates, but I don't use it much). You can add in the team badge, sponsor and even a kit manufacturer of your own if the one you want isn't there, as well as allowing you to align and size them however you see fit. There are also four different lighting modes: my first few posts in here were done with mode A, but getting colours right is so much easier with mode D.

Overall, it's very simple to use and really streamlines the whole process of kit-making (hence how I can keep making new ones fairly quickly), but you are limited by what templates are already there. Of course, you can make your own (like I had to for that Penistone Church away kit) but this can be tedious depending on what image-editing software you use. I'd definitely recommend SSD though; if not for it, I wouldn't have been able to get into kit-making myself, given that I can't afford Photoshop right now or anytime soon.

given that I can't afford Photoshop right now or anytime soon.

I'm not advocating for alternative download methods but if you're a student like me, your uni probably offers these programs free of charge.

I have to agree with you on the way your kits feel, as the color seems to be more intact with the fabric. One idea I was wondering if you'd consider would be to try giving the striped jersey thin stripes like AC Milan's 11-12 jersey. In my opinion, it looked retro but maintained that modern feel. Just a thought, let me know what you think
