After that disappointing 1st leg, we came back storming with 8 goals. Juan Cazares, who is clear runner for signing of the season, scored an amazing 5 goals with 2 assist to take a perfect 10 rating. We also had the unnecessary red card by Wellington Silva but in the end, it didn't matter.

Juan Cazares scored the first goal of the game after a deftly executed finish from close range. Cazares got his 2nd after a well timed finish from close range. Paolo Guerrero made it 3-0 after a close range finish which was timed impeccably. Cazares got his hat trick after a placed shot from close range. Guerrero got his 2nd and made it 5-0 after taking advantage of Martinho Lutero's error to score a well timed shot from close range. Cazares made it 6-0 when he seized on Patric's error to score well timed finish from close range.

Wellington Silva was ejected from the game after receiving the straight red card for the bad tackle. Alex made it 7-0 after a towering header from close range. Cazares added his 5th goal of the night and made it 8-0 after an effort from 18 metres which hit the inside of the post before crossing the line.

Our journey to the Campeonato Carioca title has ended with a disappointing lost to our rivals Botafogo. Even with the man advantage, we could not get our team going to score. With the loss now, we will now put our focus to Campeonato Brasileiro and Copa do Brasil.

The only goal of the game was by Souza after a powerful effort. Roger Carvalho got his 2nd yellow of the game and was ejected after a bad tackle.

Flamengo will host Joinville in the first game of Campeonato Brasileiro.

Fluminense has retain their Campeonato Carioca title after a boring finals where both legs ended 0-0. The club retain the title due to finishing higher in the standing during Second Stage. Fluminense has now won the competition 33 times, now tying their rivals Flamengo with the most wins.

In the Champions Playoffs, Fluminense met Vasco were they easily dispatched them 3-0. They met Botafogo where no goals were scored and Fluminense won due to being a higher seed.

Campeonato Brasileiro is Here

View attachment 173238

The 2016 Campeonato Brasileiro will start next weekend with Flamengo starting their campaign against Joinville. Media predicted that Corinthians will defend their title this year and Atletico Mineiro will finish as runner up. Media also predicted that Joinville, Atletico Goianiense, Santa Cruz, and Figueirense to be relegated to the Second Division. This year will also be the first year that 6 times winner Sao Paulo will not play in the First Division after being relegated last year.

The Campeonato Brasileiro Série A or most known as Brasileirão, is a Brazilian professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Brazilian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Contested by 20 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. The seasons are usually run from May to December, with teams playing 38 matches each.

The Campeonato Brasileiro is one of the strongest leagues in the world. The Campeonato Brasileiro contains the most club world champions titles, with 10 championships won among 6 clubs. The league is the second in containing the most clubs to have won the Copa Libertadores with 17 titles won among 10 clubs, only behind the Primera División Argentina, with 24 titles. The league is also one of the world's most powerful, ranked as the 6th most valuable with a worth of over US$ 1.43 billion.

Since 1959, a total of 17 clubs have been crowned Brazilian football champions, 12 of which have won the title more than once. Santos and Palmeiras are the most successful clubs of the Campeonato Brasileiro, having won the competition 8 times each, followed by São Paulo and Corinthians with 6 titles each. Santos' Os Santásticos, considered by some the best Brazilian club team of all times, won 5 consecutive titles between 1961 and 1965, a feat that remains unequaled until today. The State of São Paulo is the most successful state, amassing 28 titles among 5 clubs. A total of 156 clubs have played in the Campeonato Brasileiro since the first edition in 1959. The reigning Brazilian champions are Corinthians, who won their 6th title during the 2015 season.

This year edition, Flamengo will start their campaign against Joinville and will play four more matches in May.

First game of the season is dealt with and it was with success. It was a tough game as we need the man advantage to help us win. We dominated throughout the game with 10 shots attempt.

Juan Cazares scored the first goal of the game after a freekick from the edge of the area. Crysan tied the game early in the 2nd half after taking advantage of Wellington Silva to score a close range finish which was timed impeccably. Cristan got his 2nd yellow of the game after a ungentlemanly conduct. Paolo Guerrero scored the game winning goal after a well timed close range finish.

Flamengo will head Chapeco to face Chapecoense in the 1st leg in the Second Round of Copa do Brasil.

What a game! I thought that we were done after the 1st half when we were down 3-0 but we didn't give up and scored 3 goals to salvage the draw. We need to be better as we were dominated throughout the game but the 3 away goals is vital to us if we want to continue with this competition.

Bruno Rangel scored the first goal for Chapecoense after a nice effort from 13 metres. Camilo made it 2-0 when he scored a well timed finish from close range. Bruno got his 2nd and made it 3-0 after taking advantage of Talisca's error to score a deftly executed finish from close range. Gabriel cut the lead to 2 after a well timed finish from close range. Kayke made it 3-2 after a deftly executed finish from close range. Gabriel did the comeback equalizer after taking advantage of Bonfim's error to score a shot which owed an assist to the post.

We should have won this game. We were the better team. But we slipped up right after scoring. We need to focus 100% throughout the game if we want to qualify to Copa Libertadores.

Hector Canteros scored the first goal of the game after a nice effort from 16 metres. Weverton Gomes tied that game when he scored an accurate finish.

And we are off to the Third Round of Copa do Brasil after the dominating performance against Chapecoense. After that 2nd half comeback in the 1st leg, the mentally carry over to the 2nd leg and help us win the game.

Oscar Romero scored the first goal of the game after scoring an accurate finish just two minutes into the game. Romero doubled up just two minutes later after a close range header. Kayke made it 3-0 after an incisive finish from 12 metres. Ederson scored after a placed shot. Luiz Antonio made it 5-0 after a deftly executed finish.

Ronaldinho to Manage Olympic Team?

View attachment 172299

There are rumors that swirling around Brazil that Ronaldinho will manage the U23 Brazilian National team when they will play at home in Rio de Janeiro. This looks like a perfect opportunity as since Flamengo is based in Rio, managing the national team won't be a big issue. But Ronaldinho isn't comfirming anything at the moment.

"I cannot confirm nor deny this information" said Ronaldinho "I am committed to Flamengo 100% and I want to keep it like this. It would be fun to manage Brazil to their first Olympic gold, especially at home. But I have an obligation to Flamengo."

The CBF will announce it's manager in a couple of days. Whether or not Ronaldinho manages, Brazil will have a huge burden on its shoulder to erases the 2014 World Cup disappointment.

We got extremely lucky that we came out of this game with a draw. Emerson Sheik was sent off and we were in a tough place as Sport started to pick up on their play in the 2nd half.

The only thing that happened in the game was Emerson Sheik got his 2nd yellow of the game after a persistent fouling.

In a unsurprising announcement, Ronaldinho will be the next Olympic manager for Brazil until the end of the tournament. This will be a great opportunity of Ronaldinho to advance in his career and a possible preview as the future manager of the national team.

"I'm excited" said Ronaldinho "It was a difficult decision but it was one that I could not pass. An opportunity to manage for Brasil is an honour. As I said, I will still give my 100% focus to Flamengo."

Ronaldinho has appeared in two Olympics (Quarterfinals in 2000 and Bronze medal in 2008). He will hope to finally get gold for his country.

Brazil was drawn in Group C with USA, Australia, and Sweden.

Our third straight draw in Campeonato Brasileiro which is a bit of a worry. But at least that we are still unbeaten in the league but we are now dropping down the standing. We are in 9th place with 6 points.

Nilton scored the first goal after deftly executed finish from close range. Kayke equalized that game by a penalty after D'Alessandro gave it away by a handball.

What a terrible game. We were non-existence in the entire match. We had 2 penalty calls that were not called. There is really nothing to say but we have to get better.

Cleo scored the first goal of the game after a powerful effort. Bruno Pereirinha made it 2-0 after a nice effort from 11 metres. Juan Carzares pulled back one for Flamengo after an incisive finish from 10 metres. Cleo got his 2nd when he scored a powerful effort from close range. Cleo got his hat trick a minute later after an accurate finish from inside the penalty area.
