Ross, send me an application and I'll review it. If it is good enough, I'll consider you for the role of coach. I've already decided on an Assistant.

Cha-Cha-Cha-Changes!

"This guy is special. Previous assistant manager's roles at AC Milan, Lyon, Marseille, Palermo and Arsenal followed by a small stint as Boca Juniors' Manager. I really couldn't turn him down, could I?"

I thought long and hard. Steve Gatting has done a very good job, and I'm sure he would continue to do well, but I need brilliance to progress to the next level. Steve has told me he is happy to become a coach, but I don't believe him.

If St. George FC are to get to the top, we need the best. This lad, Joss Bennett, he's class. He already knows so much about the club just from research. I've got to hire him. I just hope Steve'll understand.

He's settled in well, has Mr. Bennett. The lads have got to know him and so have I. He's a good guy, but won't take any **** and his scouting reports on the next opponent are world class.

October is always a strange month. The boys are settled, but not 100% fit and therefore, due to the build-up of matches, rotation is vital at this point in the season. Everton was the big match. I knew we could win League 1, with ease, but if we made real inroads on the League Cup, that'd be a sign to the footballing world.

october2010.png

Another unbeaten month, and a 3-1 penalty shootout win against Everton really was the cherry on top. Alex Smithies was terrific once again as he saved the penalties of Mikel Arteta and Louis Saha to send us through.

I was particularly delighted to see the squad's depth. The XI that took to the field against Swindon on the 30th was no doubt, no where near the strongest and we still managed to get a win. That's a real sign that we can go far in both Cup and League.

october2010.png

Only a few months in and we're already 10 points clear of our nearest rival. All we've got to do know is focus and not allow ourselves to get complacent. Although, I am already looking forward to the Championship.

Had a call back from Birmingham Manager Alex McLeish, yesterday. He negotiated my offer for Jay Mace (this kid will play for England) from £7.75m to £19.5m. I knew I had a more than decent transfer kitty at my disposal, but I refuse to overpay.

Sorry Ross, but I've decided not to have a coach. You said the team's best player was Lionel Messi. :S

Cheers mate sent one and hoping for job of coach :)

Sorry, read it wrong I thought you meant on the game. Do you want me to PM you with the best from the team and why?

Yes please. And also the 2nd question was, which area of the team is the best, not in general.

LOL @ Lionel Messi. Thanks for the appointment Eds, i hope i can do well and help you out where needed.

St.George FC Unveil New Coach
sky-sports.jpg

Today the League 1 team St.George FC have unveiled the clubs new coach. The new coach, Ross Galloway, was a suprising decision to many fans of the club due to the lack of experience Ross has. This has led to many rumours that Ross will be firstly hired on trial to see how he can cope. We can now confirm this after we have had an interview with Ross.

Reporter: Ross, congratulations on getting the job of coach at St.George FC but however we must ask is this job is a trial for you?

Ross: Thank you for the congratulations and yes I can confirm I have been given the job on a trial basis.

Reporter: How do you feel about only being given the job on a trial?

Ross: I am perfectly fine with the job only being a trial, I am glad that I have even been given the job at all. This a job I have wanted for a long time and I have been following The Dragon Slayers since their creation in League 2. I hope I can bring something different to this club and help push for promotion to the Premier League in the future.

Reporter: What will you do to try and push for promotion?

Ross: I will keep in contact with the manager, Ed, and will give him advice for new transfers and anything he may need help with.

Reporter: Thank you for your time Mr.Galloway.

Ross: My Pleasure.

Really good updates by both of you, good to see that now your getting more people involved keep this up

Joss Bennett's First Press Conference In Full:
David Hayward, from the Guardian:
Good Afternoon Joss, i'd like to ask why you think Trevor Brooking has brought you to the club, and what you think you can add?
Hi David, well first of all, that's two questions, in answer to the first, Trevor and I have been good friends for a while now, and i spoke to him towards the end of last season, wishing him luck, and telling him there was several pints waiting should he win the league, needless to say he did win the league, but was uninterested in my alcoholic distractions. We spoke just very recently about a possible move here as i was very keen to join in some form or another, vaguely hoping i'd become Director, but wasn't expecting this. Secondly, i feel that having been in the game for a while, and having watched carefully all of St. George's games either on T.V. or at St.George's Park with my Club Level season ticket - i have aqquired a good knowledge of the club and anything that may need improving.
Matt Smith, from ITV
Mr. Bennett, where do you think the Dragon Slayers will finish this season, and who do you think will win League 2?
I think we can win it Matt, i spoke to Trevor and we agreed that with our current team, we really should be at least getting a second successive promotion into the Championship. But QPR will naturally be one of our biggest threats this season.
Ian Wright, The Sun
Lastly, Joss, how involved do you plan to be in the day-to-day running of the club?
That's a rather disappointing question to end on! I can't answer that i'm afraid, i';; be there if Trevor needs me, and if he doesn't, i'm happy with that too. Whatever he needs help with i'll be glad to try to provide some

St. George FC Press Officer
Thankyou, that's it for now, we'll let you know when the next Conference is soon.

Best story on the site by a mile.
Ed your updates are fantastic.
Keep going.
Did you sign the likes of Terry Venebles and other coaches or were they edited to your team in the db.
If you did sign them how did you manage to get them to come?
Anyway great story

I actually signed them. I set Venables' favourite club as St. George and he was a Club Favoured Personnel, due to him playing a part in the formation of the club. So I got them all fairly, just. ;)

Thanks for the brilliant comment. :)

Ok, well keep it going.
Dyo know when the next update will be?

St.George FC Transfer Rumours
Sky-Sports-Transfer-Center-800_2474516.jpg
With the January transfer window only a few months away players are already starting to be linked with different teams. Today Andy Gray of the 'Sky Sports Transfer Centre' team was lucky enough to talk some coaches from a few teams around England. One of the coaches we were lucky to speak to and recieved some hot news from was St.George FC's coach Ross Galloway.

Andy: Hello Ross, glad to speak to you, is there anyone who we could see coming or leaving St.George FC's squad?

Ross: Well, I have been thinking to myself for a while about what may happen at the club in regards to player leaving and joining and have come to a conclusion that since I am only on trial I need to try and make an impact as quick as possible. This means that I have created a shortlist of players that I think the club should try and get in contact with and players that have not been performing up to standard and may possibly be put up for transfer.

Andy: Could you possibly reveal any players on your shortlist or any players who you would like to sell?

Ross: Well since there is still 3 months untill the transfer window does open I will not announce any players who I am interesting in selling because three months can be a long time for a player and anything can change. However I will tell you some players who I believe that if we wrap up their contract can perform for the club and get us into the Premier League.

danny-rose.jpg

Danny Rose - He would be brilliant along the wing and can also play as a forward, this guy will shine for England one day but not if he continues to play for Tottenham.
Kieran_Gibbs_280x39_838631a.jpg

Kieran Gibbs - Kieran is recalled as the next Ashley Cole but he is not going to progress at all at Arsenal, he is a brilliant left back who can bomb down the wing and help create some brilliant crosses.
Daniel-Sturridge-001.jpg

Daniel Sturridge - Plays for Chelsea as a wondersub in not very important games and usually score, imagine him in a St.George FC shirt. He would become top scorer in no time.

Now there are a few other players on my list but to be honesst I don't want to give anything away. You'll have to just wait untill January.

Andy: Thank you for your time Ross.

Up comes St. George's Park

Our now 22,000 seater stadium seemed to stare back at me as I sat in the empy stadium. Expansion work had finally finished, and the 7,000 seats had been created. I saw the brilliant grass, and I thought to myself, "I built this."

It's actually been one of the biggest months in the club's small history. We'd been introduced to five or six of England's brightest young talents, we'd have Paul Ionannou officially confirm his switch from Irish/English as he made his place in the U19's squad, but we'd also had our first cap.

I'd been waiting for this cap for a long time. But it was not what I expected; it wasn't an England cap. Bradden Inman had been called up to the Scotland squad by Walter Smith, and had given him 17 minutes. I'd always hoped our first cap would be English, but c'est la vie.

This was a rather easy month, on-pitch. There were international matches and all sorts going on, so alot of lads were missing and the average age of our team for this whole month was just over 19. That's phenomenal.

There were a few toughies in there, but nothing we couldn't handle. I was making sure everyone was fit and healthy for the big one on the 1sr December, against Arsenal, in the League Cup. If we get anywhere near winning that, then we are worthy of a Premiership place.

november2010.png

We'd lost two matches out of five, and won three, but I wasn't worried about that. We were still ten points clear at the top of the league and we've got the biggest match of our history tomorrow. Steve Gatting and Joss Bennett have been all over London digging up resources on Arsenal.

Player of the Month, for November, goes to Tom Cleverley. He didn't pass the fitness test of Stuart Pearce, and therefore wasn't called into the squad. But I thought he was fit enough, and with a few other key lads out, he had to play. And he played superbly.

november2010.png

Still ten points ahead, at the head of the table, but our goalscoring was not up to standard. I wanted us to have the highest amount of goals scored and lowest amount conceded. We were certainly capable, but it only seemed to be the defenders who were putting everything in.

"Maybe it's time to give Nathan [Delfounso] a proper run?" I thought to myself. I remembered Nile's brilliant goalscoring last season and passed it off as a run of bad form. He'll come good soon, I'm certain of it.

And we need every last drop of talent we have if we're to beat Arsenal.

Bennett's gives second interview: Exclusive to FourFourTwo

Joss Bennett yesterday took time out of his busy schedule to speak to FourFourTwo magazine about how he has settled in at St. George's Park among other things; including his first piece of business at his new club. Bennett was appointed just over a month ago by manager of newly created St. George FC, Trevor Brooking, and has got straight down to work, recently providing his new club with some extra finances. Bennett has had a long career in football, and it is thought that the majority of the extra £6,000,000 he has provided Brooking with has come from money he has accumulated over the years with previous clubs. Bennett said; 'I am fully confident that i will be able to make this money back very soon...the club is making great progress, and we're already adapting to life in League 1, we're top of the table, and that's a fantastic achievement so far.' Bennett admitted that despite sitting comfortably in top spot in League 1, and immediate success in League 2, this season will 'very difficult'.

Bennett talked briefly about his relationship with Brooking, but was naturally unwilling to say too much on the subject. The new assistant manager said he had known Brooking for a long time, and that this opportunity to work alongside him was 'perfect' - He also revealed that Brooking had told him he was his first choice, despite several applicants, and that he and Steve Gatting [Ex-Assistant manager of St. George FC] were still on good terms and there was no hard feelings.

Finally, Bennett put to bed any rumours that the club was making attempts to sign Daniel Sturridge and Kieran Gibbs as earlier reported in several tabloids. Bennett said 'They are certainly [both] very good [players]. However, we are happy with the options we have at the moment, Ryan [Bertrand] is doing very well, and we have two options in Nile [Ranger] and Nathan [Delfuenso] who are in good form and scoring plenty between them.
'Besides', he added, 'I know Wenger well, and he would be reluctant to let go of such a good player, he will certainly play for England very soon, Sturridge too would be reluctant to leave Chelsea, and any kind of deal would obviously be very dear for the club'. When asked about who he and Brooking are trying to sign, the new man at the Dragon Slayers remained, as ever, very coy on the matter. 'I do not wish to mention any names, because as soon as we do, they're price goes up by 50%! We are monitoring a few players, but we are not close to signing anyone, so i cannot answer that...

Thanks, didn't want to take any of your duties, so wasn't sure about length! My next one will probably be more relevant to whatever you've done.. probably something on the Arsenal game? Good luck btw! Hope you liked my cash injection ;)
