Up comes St. George's Park
Our now 22,000 seater stadium seemed to stare back at me as I sat in the empy stadium. Expansion work had finally finished, and the 7,000 seats had been created. I saw the brilliant grass, and I thought to myself, "I built this."
It's actually been one of the biggest months in the club's small history. We'd been introduced to five or six of England's brightest young talents, we'd have Paul Ionannou officially confirm his switch from Irish/English as he made his place in the U19's squad, but we'd also had our first cap.
I'd been waiting for this cap for a long time. But it was not what I expected; it wasn't an England cap. Bradden Inman had been called up to the Scotland squad by Walter Smith, and had given him 17 minutes. I'd always hoped our first cap would be English, but c'est la vie.
This was a rather easy month, on-pitch. There were international matches and all sorts going on, so alot of lads were missing and the average age of our team for this whole month was just over 19. That's phenomenal.
There were a few toughies in there, but nothing we couldn't handle. I was making sure everyone was fit and healthy for the big one on the 1sr December, against Arsenal, in the League Cup. If we get anywhere near winning that, then we are worthy of a Premiership place.
We'd lost two matches out of five, and won three, but I wasn't worried about that. We were still ten points clear at the top of the league and we've got the biggest match of our history tomorrow. Steve Gatting and Joss Bennett have been all over London digging up resources on Arsenal.
Player of the Month, for November, goes to Tom Cleverley. He didn't pass the fitness test of Stuart Pearce, and therefore wasn't called into the squad. But I thought he was fit enough, and with a few other key lads out, he had to play. And he played superbly.
Still ten points ahead, at the head of the table, but our goalscoring was not up to standard. I wanted us to have the highest amount of goals scored and lowest amount conceded. We were certainly capable, but it only seemed to be the defenders who were putting everything in.
"Maybe it's time to give Nathan [Delfounso] a proper run?" I thought to myself. I remembered Nile's brilliant goalscoring last season and passed it off as a run of bad form. He'll come good soon, I'm certain of it.
And we need every last drop of talent we have if we're to beat Arsenal.
