Tactics & Training: The " I have a small question " thread

I believe they say a right footed striker would do better on the left side and vice versa in the hints? I'm starting to wonder about this, beacuse I keep seeing my right footed striker receive a through ball left of the goal and use his weaker foot to produce horribly miscued shots.

Change him then! :)

has anyone ever played a striker in a deep lying forward role but also ticked him as a target man? thinking about trying it and was wondering if anyone has had any success doing this.

i really want to play berbatov in jp woodys new tactic. However he only has the strike options as poacher and advanced forward. Considering the fact i have rooney aswell, which one should i play poacher and which one as advanced forward???

fm

hello there.. i have some question

i used macintosh to play fm2011, and i download the tactic from here , but i dont know how to use the tactic,,

what folder to place the tactic?

thx

hey im not a newbie at tactics but there's a thing that keeps bothering me. how do i build a tactic around a star player like aguero ?

I'm managing barca and have a problem with training. Every under 19 player is training with the seniors and i can't get them to train with the youth schedule. Is this a bug??

Man city trouble

Basically, I've managed to pile together a decent team, spending a lot in doing so with man city. I've been playing like this

Hart gk
srna-wingback rb
toure-centreback cb
chielini-centreback cb
kolarov-wingback lb
toure-defensive midfielder dmc
de rossi-ball winning midfielder mc
SWP- winger amr
hamsik- attacking midfielder amc
milner-winger aml
tevez-poacher str

subs- s.given,lescott,silva,balotelli,lukaku,adebayor,a.johnson and I have plenty of quality in reserve, my tempo is slow, i'm playing with width and playing a passing game, floating crosses and man marking

my question is, is this tactic salvageable with slight tweaking, or do i need to start fresh, I lost to wolves and drew with tottenham, so im not sure whether I just need to weather the storm while my team moulds and results will eventually come, I'm a new player so go easy on me thanks in advance

Pls help my problem with spurs.I'm playing with 4-4-2 with a DM, 2 inside forwards and my problem is about creating chances.I rarely have more than 15 shots a game and NEVER have 20+ shots, despite my possession is great. Can't find what's ******* wrong with my team !!

I got a question, what does
"Roam from position" and "Hold up balls" really means?

Playing a 4-4-2 diamond with wolves, 4th season and teams appear to be getting a lot of shots against me although 60-75% of them are long range from about 25-30 yards out. How do i stop teams from being able to get as many shots away?

is this a wide diamond ( mr, ml) or a narrow ( mc, mc) ?

Anyway, I see normally see this as a good thing, restricting the opposition to taking long shots, unless they actually score alot from them

Sorry if this is the wrong place but I didn't think it was worthy of a new topic.

Does anyone know of any tried and trusted corner routines on fm11? I am Man United and can't seem to score from corners or free kicks even though I am using pretty much the same tactics as I used in the older fm games.

Thanks!

Hi everyone! Here are some quick questions

1. Sometimes my players kick the ball out when there's an obvious pass to a team mate and when he's not really under pressure. What's wrong and how do I fix it?

2. My free-kick taker always shoots and never passes. How do I change this?

3. If I'm playing with a lonely striker and am not getting enough shots, what can I do? Or similarly, if I'm only getting long shots.

For the 3rd question: I usually give the 'work ball into box instruction' and/or push up my defensive line, but is there anything else (this simple) that I should know? (i'm not looking for complete answers bcoz obviously that also depends on the other team and other factors - just tips)

Thx!

Is it possible to get your strikers to close down the opposition GK whenever he receives a back-pass?

It seems that even with OI's of "closing down always" on the keeper and my strikers having closing down of 18/20 whenever the ball is passed back to the opposition keeper they just retreat no matter how close they might be to him and only close him down when he is outside the area.

It's so annoying as putting the opposition keeper under pressure is likely to force him to concede possession or even to make mistakes that lead to goals.

15 shots is actually a very high number and I consider my self content with having between 12-15 as long as most of them are on goal( or close headers over the bar). How many of those are on goal and how many are considered clear cut chances ? (

The only way that I have been able to do this is with a single FC with a lower than average mentality ( more likely to perform defensive duties) the highest closing down combined with the OIs you mentioned.
