Omfg. Just started Aston Villa game, winning all pre season matches using both counter and standard tactic. (442)
First league game: WBA away, i used the counter tac, even tho i was the favourite to win. Got RAAAAAAAPED. They just run through my defense laughing. I used all the shouts pre-game as mentioned, maybe i shouldnt have used all cause of their 4231 tactic but still, they had 26 shots on goal.......6ccs.
Sometimes i hate this game so much, why arent their most important players injured? Why dont their strikers miss every CC? Why dont they have 2 players injured per game or lose 15% fitness in 10 sec?
I might have made mistakes but I chose to play SAFE, and i get 26 shots against...why do i even field defenders if they dont know which way to kick the ball?
Firstly, are you on the latest patch, the 12.1.1 ?
My first advice would be to play some matches in full mode and look at the flow of the game. Look what morale can do, what the shouts do and what flairfull attackers can do with defenders with poor anticipation etc etc. In short, learn a bit about reading the game. After that, dont give upp after just a few matches. Practice some with the press conf and the team talk, ptractice with the individual chats to get under the skin of your players
Now, as an answer to your posts
Who did you use as Target man and who as adv/poacher ? Apart form that, where did their d-line sit. deep, pushed up etc ? What did you do to react when you got crushed ? What diud you say pregame and at half time, and after the game. What was said in the press conf before and and after the game etc.
lol 5 games 2 points cant even win home against QPR 3-3 game is pathetic
The game is not pathetic, its just you that are a poor manager
One question btw, when am i supposed to play the counter tactic when they standard tactic?
I used the counter in (almost all) away games, the standard against weaker or even teams and counter against the top teams.
Also it seems like the other shouts contradict the counter tactic or is that just me? I mean by not playing the ball deep, it makes sense a bit cause of the push up higher shout but for some reason it doesnt seem to create a lot of real chances.
In what way do their contradict what ?. The version is supposed to be a tight and agressiv counter approach. We push up a bit and close down the opponents more. When in possession in defence, our players keep a simple game to draw the opponenst on to use and when our midfielders get the ball, we lauch quick balls into channels. This is how a tight and agressiv counter approach
is setup. One might want to use a different one and other ways of playing might suit the team and circumstances better but when wanting to play this way within a flat 442 using really quick attackers, this
is a superb way
This approach will not work though against teams that sit deep and play possession football, uwing more of the wisth than we do, but still in a tight formation that floods the midfield. Then one has to find other ways, like the standard version
