Mackem, you use firefox? Cause in firefox Fm base pages (and db too) crashed all the time or did not load. I switched to Chrome, cuase I got the idea that since the last update Firefox is retarded.
 
Playing this with Notts County, and its amazingly perfect. 3 really good wins so far. 5-2 vs. Brighton (Friendly). 1-0 vs Peterborough (also friendly), and a 5-3 win over Blackpool, (League Cup).

TBH:
Will this tactic give me trophies even thou im not an underdog team?

I cant see why not. Its not a tactic that will see you overperform with lets say Manu or Barca(, since that would need you to win every single game and keep cleen sheets to be be called overachieve) but It will certainly give you the opportunity to do so with Notts C. Remember that I walked the league with Bristol R and we had a media prediction of 4th. This tactic will do me good until I am actuallt the best team in England. Only then will I have to change ( in theory that is as I am playing with the 442 now)
 
Non-classic tactic

Wauw this asymmetric 451 tactic is great, have been very succesful thus far. And it fits my low-level team great. But I would really like if you could convert it to a non-classic tactic, as I'm really missing some of the new 2012 features, that are not available when using classic mode.

Is it possible you could convert it to a non-classical tactic please?
 
Hmm been trying the flat 4-4-2 tactics for 2 saves now where I picked 5 sides from various leagues (danish 2. div, italian serie c, german 3. liga, english league one and championship)

Went on holiday mode each save with not so impressive results. I know that holiday modes differ from normal modes but they should give you an indication on how it works no?

I am afraid not. The Holiday mode does not give you any indicator at all, none what so ever. You could do absolutely rubbish in this mode with a tactic that is great and vice versa.

Yeah? Must be different from Football Manager 2010 then. In that case, I will try a new save playing manually then ;)

And just to let you know. It wasn't to put down your tactics in any way. It looks great and I've always loved a good flat 4-4-2 with minor teams.

No worries, I did not take it that way.

In the Holiday mode, the status of the club is more important then the actuall tactic. You also need to consider that the man who picks the players will have no idea about how the tactic functions. Like that the FCleft should be a player that likes to come deep, that Its a really bad idea to play really attacking ( by ppm) fullbacks or MCleft. that its a bad idea to play a deepcoming player in FCright, especially if he likes to take first time shots etc etc.

I am currently using a tweak of the 442, making it a Wide 4231 with Bristol R in the League one. We are cruising :D
 
I haven't looked through all this thread so sorry if it's already been answered.

The tactic is great but i need something to switch to to go more defensive as am letting in a lot of goals.

Any tips of what to do or another tactic i could switch to when in front and need to hang on?
 
Never posted on this forum before but just wanted to say that like one of the above posters, your asymmetric 4-5-1 is killing it for me right now with Southampton. I'm currently 7 points clear at the top of the championship in february, have scored about 25 more goals than anyone else, winning all but 4 games. I'm in the League Cup final, having beaten Man Utd 4-3 at Old Trafford in the quarters and Liverpool 4-0 at home in the semis. I basically have the league in a headlock right now, and i'm administering a quite ferocious noogie. I did have a minor blip over xmas, losing at home a couple of times and being knocked out of the FA cup by Chesterfield. But other than that it's been almost faultless.

I want to ask though, what would the consequences be if I switched 'classic' mode off so I can use team shouts and player roles etc? Would that just totally banjax everything? This is the first version of this game i've played since I think championship manager 3, so i'm still getting used to all the different features.

You can't revert from classic mode, you can try to copy the settings in TC (Tactic creator) but then you have the problem of role settings and you can't have so many players lurking outside the area at corners (only one), which I presume decreases the amount of goals scored at corners.

I tried myself to copy a classic tactic in FM11 and failed miserably.

You can in classic mode but not in TC, the game allows only one for each position (besides 'stay back'). How realistic is scoring a ridiculous amount of goals from corners. In Fm 08 my top scorer was Fazio with 45 headed goals from corners ! You can play with that set up if you like, it's a free world, I choose not too, that's all.
