***THE BETTER HALFS TACTIC UPLOAD & DISCUSSION

Hi! TBH, could you please share some ideas about different versions (like more defensive, more counter attacking, more attacking) of those tactics? These here are more like standard mentality, but what if (for example) my team is desperate for a goal in the final 20 minutes left and has to take more risks? Should both tactics change to 4-2-4? Thanks in advance!

Well, those uploaded tactics are plug & play and should not be made more attacking, nor defensive.

As we speak, I am working on some plug & shout tactics, meaning that one standard tactic is uploaded along with shout instructions to turn get more possesion, counter the opponent, go all out attack or shup up the shop.
If you want to help mne test them, giv me a shout and I will give you some instructions ( will be found in my forum linked to in my sig)

I don't really think I am able to provide any help since I rarely have more than 1 hour available daily to play FM :(

hi TBH, after a while :)

trying your first tactic here with Benfica. Just one question so far: how are you reacting when having 10 men?

I normally play a flat 441, nNOT using the AMC-settings.

I have taken a break from making tactics as the testing is impossible due to the "superb morale" issue

Weirdly enough, I have never experienced the "superb morale" issue

Every now and then, I still lose even when players morales are high

I to loose but not as often as I should and teams with poor morale never manage to turn it around.

hi mate,

as usual I'm very interested about yr works, and now I'm using yr asymmetric 451.

I find some yr indications about players filters:

TheBetterHalf said:
I use the scouts along with a player filter. If looking for players in the age of 20+, then I use the following setup.

Determination 12
Decision 12
Work rate 10
Anticipation 10
Off the ball 10 ( for defenders and DMCs, positioning 10)
Stamina 8

I use these regardless of level although I never play in BSS/P etc, there I would perhaps need to lower all but determination.

When scouting for young players, I rarely go for those in the age of 19, 20, but instead 16-18. Here, I have a bigger chance of forming them into great players. Here, the filters are a bit different.

Determination 10
Decision 8
Work rate 8

After that, I go for those with a specific competence

So, I'm here to ask u how to complete the filters for the 451.

At the moment I'm using yr indications as base and I'm completing the filters for the different roles with the requirements that u wrote in the descriptions, giving a value of 10 for the 19+ players, and of 8 for the under18 players.

Then, for the results, I'm looking for feedbacks with all the requirements matched, but I'm thinking if would be better search for feedback with at least one requirement missing, and then giving a personal training on the missing requirement.

But, one more thought: the missing requirement could be in the base, or it has to be out of the base requirements???

Hope all this is clear for u.

Cheers

Hey TheBetterHalf,

I know that you have not posted your 41221 tactic here yet but I just wanted to show some screenshots of my current save to everyone. I am using your Counter the Clocks 41221 tactic:

Best result so far:

And a few more screenshots:

Really good results there.

I am currently playing a 442 version of the counter the clocks.
I will attach it here

hi mate, about Into the Oblivion, I just checked that, for the advance winger, the pic u posted doesn't match the settings of the uploaded tactics, so, which one is the correct setting???

some minor differences also in other roles, about "Cross From" and "Cross Aim".

then any input for my questions at post #89?! ^^

cheers

MAN UNITED TACTIC

Disclaimer: This is in no way an emulation.
Basiclly, I have been using these settings. As you see, there is nothing fancy here. I just let the players do their stuff. Man U has a huge advantaghe if you use the right plrayers, the players with high team work and work rate. I have not used any playmaker, hence its set to "none"

Also suited for:Tottenham, Chelsea, Man City, Pool. Obviously there are more teams but you getting the hang of it

1st strategy: A wide Control based approach

This is the main approach. Playing rather attacking and using the width of the pitch to be able to create space and drag those deep sitting and tight defences out of position

2nd strategy: Quick and Direct Counter

As always, there will be times when you want to hit the opponent on the counter. Perhaps in the away match against a really good team that attacks you and leaves lots of space benhind their fullbacks for you to exploit, or when that lesser team is trying to make a comeback, you being 2-0 up. Here, we put direct balls into channels for our wingers and attackers to run onto.

I am planing to make a few more of these Team tactics. Does anyone have a suggestion of a team ?. ( not tottenham or any other good team that likes to play a 442 though)

Arsenal, Bayern, Lyon, Porto, Benfica or Chelsea? :D

Those are some teams I would like to see tactics of

hi TBH, great work as usual...do you think these would work as well on FM11? can i download them into the game, or would i need to make them manually, using your screenies in the OP?

thanks

Sound good. Just remember that we are NOT talking about emulation here. ( not sue about Chelsea, they would probably benefit form using the same setup as man u actually, a flat 442)

No tactic is uploaded so you just have to put it in your self, no matter version one is playing. Just notice that not all shouts are in FM11

****! tactics dont convert from FM12 to 11 (even classic)...it just shows a goalie and left forward on the pitch, and i dont think the team instructions look right either...was gonna try this in a new season with newcastle...never mind :(, it looks like a good tactic tho

As the next little project, I decided to go for a complete opposite of a controlling flat 442. Now, Its a wingless tactic using only one FC, a narrow 4321 (X-MAS T). Now, when playing with just one FC and without wingers, using 5 central midfieders, its actually a waste to even try to play a probing and patient game. A team like Milan should probably not play this style in real life and neither should any other "top notch " team. The team I have in mind is Roma. It will be a more direct Fluid-Counter approach with the aim to get the ball forward all the time and hassle high up in the pitch with our flooded midfield

Thoughts ? Any other team this would suit like the glove ?

Dortmund maybe? Madrid, maybe Valencia could work. :)

Would be great to see an effective xmas tree formation on FM, (shame you couldn't get it ready before the 25th!) :)
