When beating big teams away, its most of the times down to them not havuing enough players tracking back to carry out their defensive duties ( due to their position in the formation + mentality) making us gain possession in advanced positions and use triangels to stretch their defence.

When playing a team that sits deeper with more men behind the ball, you need to be the more agressiv team and use more of the pitch, play more patient whilst still playing attacking. Here, the ATTACK version should be the main choice. Its also rather realistic. If you are a underdog/middle team that plays cautious and cynical, you have the possibility to be a giant killer nut once teams start to play defensive and cynical against you, your team might be to poor to break the pattern and oppopnents now using your own medicin against you.
As an example, I beat Man U and LIverpool ( twice as I faced them in the cup to) but lost awy to west brom, them playing cynical and with men behind the ball

Also, the game is not only down to tactics and this could be down to man management, the team being over confident and not up for the game( not being fired-up)

hi after a while TBH (H)

could you please tell me a bit more about micro-management with Reading?

Ideal line-up, back-ups, who doesnt suit into this system at all (so, needs to be sold) and who f.e. do you advise to purchase as new creator?

Thx,
brilliant job anyway

What's the best match prep ??

Match prep is something you( can chose to) focus on for a specific match. If you are playing as Liverpool home to Stoke and you feel they will fancy their chances on set pieces and yhour fear P.Crouch, you might go for Defensive set pieces. If you face an opponent that sits really deep and dont have great and quick FCs with good off the ball movement, then I would go for Attacking movements. If ths same team do have quick attackers and you fear their counter attacks, you might consider Defensive positioning. If you are playing as Stoke, then perhaps Attacking set pieces etc etc

Thank you,mate :)

Well done mate, what's match prep ?

Teamwork, and then def positioning. I think if u manage a better team you should leave it on average teamwork all the time. I've strangely found that when i do that the team plays awesome football and concedes less.

Oh , i forgot. :) I ALWAYS attend the press conferences myself, and very carefully take care of the team's morale, also not letting them get complacent. Team talking, press conferences and pravate chat's with my players seemed to be very very important( like the difference between beating Man Utd at Old Traford and losing 5-1 to them), in my West ham save.

Yes, me to. My " next match " starts with the press conf held after à match, then its private chats and then à new pregame press conf and pregame team talks. All this being said to follow à logic pattern. This way, the players know what I expect and that I am there for them to listen. In short, it makes them respect me and get inspired by me as I am consistant in my role as a coach.

Thanks a lot :D

I reckon I can mould my current squad to fit your tactics.....one annoying thing is I can't seem to find move into channels for my inside forward. I have trained him to cut inside but alas....no option to have him move into channels!

Then just use the wide play option.

With the cut inside PPM won't he ignore the wide play command more often than not?
