Just a quick suggestion i think we should tweak the striker role a bit.. i love the team work anyway but am a striker myself & i hate it when my strikers are not scoring much.. maybe i'll tweak to give them a bit of more creative freedom & forward runs to see.. am the traditional 2 striker guy but to use one striker, then he must score the goals.. :P

In what version is your FC struggling to score. In total, My FC scores about 33 % Of My goals, something I find high enough. When using Attacking Posession , his job is to create space ( less goals) but in Counter its to use the open space( more goals)

This has certainly worked with my Everton side although it is still early doors in the season.

My record in the Premier League is played 10, won 10! Had wins over Man City 3-1 and Arsenal 5-4 after being 3-1 down. My only loss has come from Liverpool in the Capital One Cup where I fully rotated the side, had a man sent off and still was unlucky not to win.

This tactic really suits Everton, my signings have been Anderson, Hubschman, and Bolatti all on loan. Anderson is the only player I have loaned who is in the starting 11.

My starting 11 and backups are:

GK - Howard (Mucha)
DCL - Distin (Duffy)
DCR - Jagielka (Hubschman)
DML - Baines (Oviedo)
DMC - Heitinga (Neville)
DMR - Coleman (Hibbert)
MCL - Anderson (Gibson)
MCR - Fellaini (Bollatti)
AML - Pienaar (Naismith)
AMR - Mirallas (Osman)
FC - Jelavic (Anichebe)

Stand out performers are Jelavic, Anderson, Felliani, Baines. I tend to start with the Attacking Possession option unless I am playing a traditional top 4 side or a traditional top 8 side away from home. I only move my wing back to full backs if I can see in the game that they are exposed. I dont use the overload tactic.

To close out games typically I will change to counter attack fro the last 20mins and depending on how I am playing push my wing backs to full backs. I often switch between cautious and attacking during the game depending on how the possession and chances are goal are looking.

Be interesting to see how well this form can be kept up. I would be very surprised if we can win the league (wouldn't of had that kind of immediate success since champ man 01/02!) but finishing in the chamipons league places seems a very real possibility.

Sounds really good. Out of interest, what version of this set have you downloaded and are using ?

- The ones linked to at the top of the opening post ( latest ones for FM13)
- The ones attached at the bottom ( first ones for FM12)
- The ones linked to at the bottom along with the attached Cautious one ( Final for Fm12)

possession tactic? modern based on ajax/barca?

Sorry. I have not done a possession based tactic for FM13. I might make a possession based set once the game has been further patched though, one using the Tactic Creator

Is there on for fm2012 that you would suggest "tiki-taka-esque" prefer the modern versions.

Update:

Here is a slightly tweaked version of the set for FM13. So far I have tried it with Man U and Wigan

Thx.
Is it the last version of your tactic ?
( I've noticed a COUNTER V2 in the firt post...)

Sorry, it's confused and i'm french ....

arrows

how do you put arrows in the tactics? I can only put "roles" and I think I prefer arrows

am using the fm13 slightly tweaked versions.. or is there an updated one for the new patch?

Convert the tactic into Classic Mode. Just remember that the arrows are only à visible presentation on the formation screen Of the players settings regarding their tendency to make runs from deep and has nothing to do with where they aim their run.

Hi Guys, i have downloaded and use thebetterhalf tactics as per instructed, however i am still not able to win games, i am using liverpool and i still struggle against weaker teams..
i am so depressed.

please help!

great tactic this

I have used this formation exactly on pitch slightly tweaking the tactics.. no major tweaks though.. and i have to say it is SUPERB !!! ... i play with milan.. i tried an uncountable amount of tactis/formations and i was failing miserably .. was placed 18th just before i tried this tactic about 18 games into the league.. was verging being fired and as soon as i used this tactic i was unstopable and placed 4th that league.. struggled very much to win the champions league.. only managed to win in it in 2020.. having won the europa cup before and lost a hideous amount of finals and semi finals ... thanks buddy for this formation

Thx.

Yes, its the latest one. The Tactics linked to and attached at the bottom Of the first post where made with FM12.

I am actually using the tactics from the bottom of the original post. I didn't actually read it properly I suppose and just guessed they were the ones designed for FM2013. I suppose it doesn't matter because even though they are designed for FM2012 it is still definitely working for me.

I am currently in Febuary and still top of the English Premier League with Everton (1st season with no money spent). Ive got passed the period where I thought I may just be being lucky to actually really admiring the tactic. I have slightly switched how I use it from my post before which I will explain.

I start with the attacking possession against all sides apart from Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, & Arsenal at home. After 20minutes I see if we are dominating possession and how many chances the opponenets are having, if the opponents have had 4-5 chances in the first 20minutes and I am dominating possession I switch to cautious (so that I keep the possession advantage but dont concede as many chances against). If the opposition is winning the possession battle (even if its 50-50) I will switch to counter attack, I do this often and counter attack is when I have scored the most amount of goals.

I then review the game after 45 minutes, 60 minutes, and 75 minutes in a similar format. I dont tend to switch even from attacking if I am dominating the match. I will often switch to counter attack in the last 30-20minutes if I am 1 goal up and its a tight game.

Against the above mentioned teams at home, and also top 8 teams away from home I will start with the counter attack tactic. This is very secure defensively and its actually a bonus if the opposition control possession because it gives you more chance of scoring through a counter-attack. I very rarely switch from this during the game however if I go behind I may switch to attacking, also if the opposition is dominating possession, creating a lot of chances, and stopping me creating chances I will switch to cautious possession.

I can't see why this wouldnt work with Everton and not other top 8 sides. The AI finds it nearly impossible to pick up the whole 7 def midfield, midfield, and offensive midfield players therefore creating oppurtunities isn't a problem. Defensively the attacking possession can have holes but this is usually matched with creating more than the opposition. However a good keeper is important Howard is averaging 7.3 for me at the moment and had a few MOM.

I would encourage anyone who isn't have success with the FM2013 designed tactics to try the ones at the bottom of the original post in the format I am using.
