Show them at least some pathway to the first team by giving them minutes and involving them and there is no need for them to want away.
Chelsea's attitude to youth development is mad. Put the time in bringing in and developing good youngsters. Only to never give them a chance at first-team level and just look to flip them for profit.

There is a pathway. Christensen starting against Tottenham is an emphatic answer to that. Ake, Chalobah and RLC not at the required level to be starting yet so at the most, they are options off the bench. Only regular game time will help them improve which is something they want and we cannot offer.
Ake and Chalobah both have buy-back clauses. RLC is on loan. All 3 will definitely be back if they reach the required level.
Chalobah, RLC and Ake all took the cue from Lukaku and realized that the only way to improve significantly and stake a claim to a first team spot at Chelsea is by leaving and playing regularly instead of rotting on the bench. Thankfully this time we inserted buy-back clauses. I am quietly confident that RLC and Chalobah will both be full-fledged England internationals by the end of the season.
Love it how everybody is jumping on the "farm system" bandwagon.
How many of the victims of this oppressive farm system have made it big? KdB and Lukaku? Two players out of what, 50, more? Even those two, were considered not good enough at the time, by Mourinho. It's bad business to hold onto players, hoping that one day they will turn out what you thought they will.
Remember Wilson, Januzaj, Blackett the next big things? Where are they now? Some make it, some don't, no matter how much they play, or where.
Yeah except I've been calling it a farm system for 2 years. That's exactly what it is. Buy a player, loan him to vitesse or somewhere, make a fortune in loan fees.
You wouldn't buy 50 players in the first place and loan them out in the first place.
It's predominantly about FFP. Ony a fool would think its about trying to bring through youth

With still talk of him potentially leaving again before the 31st.
Both times he wanted to stay permanently at BM, last season and this season.
So following your logic, any good prospect at Chelsea has 0 chance of making the first team, because they are viewed as merchandise, who's only purpose is to fill the clubs coffers? You do realise how ridiculous you sound right now?

Where did you get that from? Borussia Monchengladbach were desperate to have him but he never pushed for a move because he was assured of a place in the 17/18 squad which has happened.

It is a farm system but that does not mean the club is not serious about developing and bringing youth through. Read the interviews of those who go out on loan. See the set-up and support the club has for them. Just because the outcomes have not been positive does not mean the aim of it is purely a farm system.

Tbh 2 of the names there are terrible examples. Wilson has been blighted by injures for nearly a year and a half, but is still highly rated by coaches at Utd. And Blackett signed a new deal because Mourinho likes him but we are to stacked on defenders atm and Mourinho and **** made the decision to send out to play week on week out in a tough league. Januzaj is just an wasted idiot.
It was set up in 2013 as a means of getting round FFP, only recently has it become more geared towards trying to find breakthrough players. Its still not a very good system, its focus is too spread, and its predominantly aimed at a regular income, which it provides very well. Essentially they have gone for a trawler net approach to finding players.

I did not say they are finished, nor are all those players top clubs usually sell, because they are not considered first team material.
A lot of players are hyped from a young age, and don't end up living up to it. My point was, that just because young players don't live up to expectations, it doesn't mean the clubs are at fault, which is the usual **** excuse being thrown in the media: they didn't trust him, they didn't give him enough chances, the manager had it in for him from day one, and other ****.
I have heard very different.
