Overall quite a pleasing few months, with the team still in every possible competition. Losses to Fulham, West Ham and Wigan were disappointing but wins against Man U and Real Madrid more than made up for it.

Star Peformer - Again there can be no other answer but Carlos Tevez. Another outstanding few months, with a record of 20 goals in 18 games including no less than 3 hat-tricks and a four goal haul!

It hasn't just been Man City who have recognised how well Tevez has been playing though and the Argentinian picked up the following awards for his tremendous play over the past year:

World Player of the year
Part of the World Team of the year
European Footballer of the year
European Striker of the year

His record over the past year looks like this:

Appearances - 51
Goals - 63
Assist - 13
Average Rating - 7.71

View attachment 36709

Still a long way adrift of the Leaders but City reckon they can turn it around!

View attachment 36710

City surprised even themselves winning the group so easily.

Transfers:

Dzeko, Aguilera and Muniain all joined Man City after agreeing terms earlier in the season.

Other news:

The stadium expansion has been completed and is now a 60,000 seater.
Man City chairman Al Mubarak continues to pump money into the club, putting in another £56 Million into the club.

Seem to be conceding a few goals mate. A few tweaks to the defence.

Woops my bad :$

Yeh I know, I've tried a variety of tactics but can't seem to sort it out! I'll keep working at it though.

City battled hard and despite being the underdogs managed to pull of the result to get them to the final.

Chelsea retain Premier League title with 7 games to spare

Chelsea have once again blitzed the Premier League and have won it with an incredible 7 games to spare. They remain on course for an undefeated season with 4 games left. vs. Inter Milan (Champions League Quarter Final, away): 2-4 (Lost 5-2 overall) (Gourcuff, Arshavin)

View attachment 37881

A devastating turn of events meant that City crashed out of the competition. Having been in a winning position with 15 minutes left, Inter went onto score twice more and end City's dream of European glory.

vs. Chelsea (FA Cup Semi Final): 2-1 AET (Dzeko, Arshavin)

View attachment 37882

After the nightmare of losing to Inter just a few days earlier, the City players showed incredible will and determination to book their place in the FA Cup final. Being slight underdogs, City played with a 'nothing to lose' attitude and it paid off when Arshavin stunned Chelsea by scoring in the 2nd half of extra time.

vs. Arsenal: 2-0 (OG, Lescott)
vs. Newcastle: 2-0 (Dzeko, Tevez)

Win/Loss/Draw - 9/1/2
Goals for - 22
Goals against - 12

Star Peformer - For once a striker doesn't pick up the award, Shay Given has peformed fantastically well over the last couple of months, picking up the Man of the match award 4 times in the last 12 games. A bit of an unsung hero for City who have had problems at the back and Given has saved them time after time.

League Position - 2nd
FA Cup - Final vs. Arsenal
League Cup - Winners
Champions League - Knocked out in Quarter Finals

Win/Loss/Draw - 3/1/0
Goals for - 5
Goals agaisnt - 3

Fans player of season: Yoann Gourcuff - A series of dazzling displays against rivals Man United and several other teams has made him a fan favourite. The skillful young player is fast becomming a top player.
Signing of season: Edin Dzeko - Him and Tevez formed an awesome partnership which devastated many of the worlds best defences.
Most dissapointing signing: Daniele De Rossi - After such a huge payment was made for him (£56 Million) he didn't quite live up to his name. He had an average rating of under 7 and didn't have the impact that

A near perfect start for Man City in the league. The only result which will disappoint the fans is the goalless draw against Bolton at home but apart from that its been spot on from the Citizens

Champions league Results:

Man City were handed a tough group with AC Milan, PSV and AS Nancy Lorraine. However the fans and the board still very much expect Man City to qualify from this group.

Man City vs. AS Nancy Lorraine: 6-1 - Arshavin x2, Dzeko x2, Tevez, Ireland
Man City vs. AC Milan: 1-1 - Ireland
Man City vs. PSV: 1-0 - Dzeko
Man City vs. PSV: 1-2 - Tevez

View attachment 39011

Despite crushing AS Nancy Lorraine and taking a point from the San Siro and 3 from against PSV at home, City suffered their first meaningful defeat of the season away against PSV.

League Cup results:

Man City vs. Wolves: 3-0 - Robinho, Dzeko x2
Man City vs. Stoke: 3-1 - Dzeko x3

The board isn't too worried with how City do in the League Cup but are pleased that they beat both Wolves and Stoke with slightly weakened sides.

Comunity Shield:

Man City vs. Chelsea: 2-2 (Chelsea won 5-4 on penalties) (Robinho, Tevez)

Not a result that City will worry about too much, they played well and showed Chelsea just how dangerous they will be this upcoming season.

Analysis of new signings:

Aguero - After a slightly disappointing start to his career at Man City, things are beginning to take shape with 3 goals in his last 4 games. Part of his role is to supply goals however and he has shown that he is more than capable with 5 assists to his name already. Rating - 8/10

Lucio - His experience and wisdom of the game have shown through as he has helped City concede just 6 goals in 11 games. Despite his age he has had no problems with staying fit and has started all but one of the Premier League games so far this campaign. Rating 7/10

Ochoa - A player with a bright future ahead of him. Already with 10 Clean sheets this season, he has kept Shay Given out of the team in every match so far. With a series of sterling peformances from the young mexican, it looks like City have found an absolute gem of a player in Ochao. Rating - 9/10

A fantastic run of form in the league for City - breaking the Premier League record for the most wins in a row with 16 straight wins and running! They seem to be literally unbeatable at the moment, the only team that came close to taking a point from City was Tottenham who suffered the heartbreak of a last minute goal from Dzeko. Great wins away at Arsenal and Liverpool in succession put City 8 points clear of holders Chelsea!

FA Cup Results:

Man City vs. Middlesborough: 3-1 - Ireland, Muniain, Barry
Man City vs.Bristol City: 3-1 - Tevez, Dzeko x2

Two solid wins and a fifth round match against Nottingham Forest coming up.

Transfer Rumours:

Chelsea tried their luck with a £20 Million bid for Carlos Tevez which was laughed at by City before being rejected. City were looking for at least double that amount for Tevez who has been in incredible form for the past few seasons.

Man City were reportedly interested in Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas but after a £30 Million bid was rejected no fur
