I swear how Klopp hasnt chinned that gobshite of a ref there I do not know. It wasnt even a shove, worse than the dive Duffy got a pen for against Brighton.

It was a very soft penalty. Lovren was stupid in giving the ref the decision, but still not a peno none the less.

Mane and Hendo were very poor today. Surprised Salah came off and not Mane. Only reason I can think is fitness levels?

That one's totally on Klopp for me. Said it before the teamsheet was in. You DON'T F with the biggest game to anyone in this City every season. Making probably 3/4 changes more than he needed to, and in so doing resting 2 of your top players for this game is unacceptable. Yeah, we dominated. (Although a mere 3 on target from 23 is criminally bad.). Yeah, if Sadio scores or we don't mess up some clear headers second half we give a **** poor Everton the 4 goal doing they deserved. But it doesn't take away from not only the completely wrong starting personnel. but compounding that with the changes. Salah off at still 1 with nothing going for Mané? Ings on nowhere near PL fit? Really?

Can't even take solace in Utd getting beat and pulling a point back on both them and Chelsea right now as I'm still wholly narked at earlier. Completely and utterly ruined this week. When if we'd of gone with the right side it doubtless wouldn't of done.

Don't know if it was a peno. Not seen the TV but it looked real soft but then what's he doing challenging him here when he's going nowhere? But regardless. This one's on Klopp more than anyone.

We'll have a stronger side out Wednesday against West Brom. WEST F BROM! Madness and inexcusable

This is the problem with a penalty decision like this. It's a terrible call in such a huge game that the ref doesn't have to worry about after the game. Lovren has just about recovered from death threats that this is going to no doubt bring back similar out comes and Klopp will get blamed for his team selection because we've battered Everton who have parked the bus and unreservedly stolen a point.

Let's not forget that this wasn't a great defensive display, this was Sam Allardyce telling his team to get in the way of the goal. It's everything that I hate about this sport in one game.

First time I've seen the penalty on the TV. (Other end the ground from me.). That's a stonewaller. Don't know how we can legit argue otherwise. Complete boneheaded decision from Lovren. Lads going nowhere and he pushes him. Yeah, he goes down like a sack of *****. But any player would with hands in their back.

No complaints at all with Pawson there.

Ergh. Come on Scouse youre giving me a headache here. Rewatch it if thats a stonewaller we can all just shutup and go home. I actually feel sorry for Lovren there as he does the right thing and shepards him away from our goal. Hows he supposed to react to DCL pushing back into him and falling like a sack of spuds. I'd argue if it was a shove but a slight nudge come on. He's conned the ref, plain and simple.

Edit: Before you say why did he have his hands up, its textbook defending to let the striker know your there without havent to actually make a challenge so you can escort the striker wide or stop them from turning you inside.

Why does Mane not square Salah there? On his weaker side too, made no sense. He's usually pretty unselfish in those situations too? Then again, he's usually the main man. All footballers have egos. Probably half sick of the Salah show :P
Would drop him after that if I was Klopp. The whole reason the front four work so well is because of how unselfish they are. We were never going to have much chances so it was important we took any we had. Mane was playing for himself all game.

You'd drop him for that? Bit of an emotional response mate. He just took the wrong decision for once.

Btw, great to see Ings back on the pitch.

It was but it was totally the wrong game to have him back in a league 18.

Mercifully, there's a European draw coming up then trip to sort out today to brighten a still very narked mood from yesterday.

Anyone but Juventus please. Although swerving the hassle and expense of Donetsk would be welcome too.

All booked before prices jump. Handy to have contacts on the early word on the date.

Valentine's day massacre. Like the sound of that.

Late to the party here, but don't think that was a pen.
Yep I keep trying to see it from the view of others but even some days later all I see is a soft pen at best. This is the angle that irks me the most.

You can clearly see how clever DCL is as he slyly jumps into Lovren and anyone who has played fotty at any level or some form of contact sports knows that when someone cuts across and runs into you, its subconcious to raise your hands to protect yourself as its a natural response to protect yourself. How you going to blame Lovren for something thats a human subconcious instinct. All the ref can see is the slight contact and even then his positioning was awful as he should have been more to the left.
