well its true a bit every team thats not city is a bit of a under dog for the league

I know mate. Which makes the whole ‘spending/ L’pool buying the league’ even more ridiculous in comparison from most every aspect.

But our American friend does have his black and white views so just roll with it.

Scouse mentioning Rocky in two sequential posts and with a pic. Putting Liverpool as a plucky upstart trying to overcome the Drago that is Man City.

Pray tell what’s B/S?
Every team spends money to improve its starting XI. Money spent poorly in the past does not distract from the money spent recently and expectations that come with the cost. Need to start showing some results with silverware after recent expenditures.

Baffling how you think they aren’t?

They’ve just dropped £60 million on a guy for the bench. Or at worst he relplacea a £50 million guy and drops him to the bench. Liverpool can’t compete with that straight up. Just one example of there being ZERO comparison between the two clubs financially on money spent. Either on players or wages. We top City, we need to find another way and the Rocky/ Drago analogy from Klopp Friday was as perfect as it was madly hilarious coming out of the blue.

All relative as to the task L’pool, and everyone else come to that are trying to overcome to close that gap.

Naturally expectations are increased. And naturally we need to start winning things. That comes with the territory of being one of the biggest clubs on the planet regardless. And 6 years without one is WAY too long for a club of this stature. But then if you put the context of the 4 finals lost in that time and the complete lack of luck against top opponent, all outplayed for most if not all those games, it lessons that. Not least under the current manager and group of players who are getting closer and closer all the time. ****, they got to within two Ramos assaults of having the best season of any club in Europe last year. With only 12 fit players running on fumes and kids! All whilst marrying that up with a CL league campaign that left them a mere 2 games out of second they’d have comfortably been in with more legs at their disposal. How could we possibly be ****** at that just because they ultimately dudn’t win the top prize of all? Disappointed? No question. But that quickly turned to stupendous pride at all the enjoyment and fun they’d given us along the way and had everyone quickly back up and partying in Kiev. It’s how we roll.

But that increased expectation is not the be all and end all that defines whether we have a successful season this year.

Again, they improve, as they have each season under Klopp, and close that mammoth gap they and everyone else currently are behind City, and continue to do it entertaining the living **** out of us and having great fun every match as they go, but ultimately fall short to the current best team in the land, you won’t find many Liverpudlians unhappy.

It’s just how we are and you can’t ask for much more than season-on-season progress. With the ownership fully bought into this manager and the progress he’s making every year so the internal pressure on him isn’t as great on him.

Don’t misunderstand that as the want and need for major trophies not being here. Not many clubs anywhere have won more and we crave more as much as the next man. But it won’t ‘define’ our season under the current project since Klopp came in. This is just the next stage on the journey to get back to the top of the mountain. It happens this year? Outstanding. It doesn’t, but we’ve taken the next step to getting closer again? Equally brilliant and everyone will be buzzing this time next summer for the following season and the next stride forward.

If having to win the title by the season’s end ultimately defines a fans season, or makes them look upon a season like last year as a failure after the Madrid defeat as many opposition fans tried to mock with, then I truly feel for them as they’ll never understand the pride and enjoyment Liverpudlians are getting out of this current group of Reds. Expectations for silverware are higher naturally but that won’t change if we get a similar, exhilarating ride this year, more progress, but no trophy.

So no mate. It’s not B/S at all. To not understand that is to not understand Liverpool and Liverpudlians which is unlike most anywhere else on Earth.

Let's be honest here, Guardiola had what, 2 seasons without league title in his entire career? And in both cases he didn't have the most expensive squad in the league.

His record may be suspect in cup competitions, but he sure as **** can build a league-crushing machine.

Absolutely r mate the Big Pole.

Anyone finishes above that they’ll of had a superb season as he’s more than capable of dropping another 100 point season with what he’s built there.

Be no great failure by any means if you fall just short of that City side. They’ve raised the bar that high and are at such a level that you’d just have to tip your hat and say fair play. Can’t stop that.

But that said we’ll have a ****** good go this year and it won’t be for the lack of giving everything balls out every game. Starting right out of the gate dinner time today. This team is currently in October/ November fitness/ form and are as fully prepared as anyone to shoot out the gate. He’s run the legs off the them the sessions and games this summer. 12 points out of 12 these first 4 Redmen then we’ll see where we stand with City going into the break. Starting today.

We go again!

Up the Reds!

Liverpool and West Ham have spent over £250m between them this summer.... crazy world we live in.

Why the hype about Pellegrini as manager? At least Moyes would of had this defence organised. Try and play attacking football or pretty football all you like, if you can't defend won't do **** in this league.

Always thought this was a nice fixture for Liverpool, despite all West Ham's signings they will have no team cohesion yet with manager and all their new players.

Making the same mistakes he did with us, way too narrow against teams like this

Thats the difference width makes if any utd fans are watching. Constantly stretched them and another reason why TAA is in the team despite Clyne back fit.

Also, the reason Robertson, Mendy & Tripper all in my FF team. :)

West Ham's defense has been horribad. If it wasn't for Fabianski it could have gone into double digits.

Liverpool was impressive. I liked how they put weaker opposition to the sword. What did all that West Ham money go towards?
