Suso to score the winner ;)

Have to play a **** load better than against Munich mate.

If Bayern had been at all interested that would of been a comfortable win. Only caught the second half before our game and Bayern were just half arising it.

A half arsed Bayern is still better than 70% of teams haha.

That Suso volley misskick was quite funny tbf

I didn't refute his point at all, Scouse. Spending £25m on Widnaldum isn't competing with the elite. He was quite clearly and alternate to Zielinksi.

When Klopp joined Dortmund, they were still reeling from the long term effects of bankruptcy. Watzke wanted make sure that never happened, so his target was untapped areas of the market. Zorc was there with his eye to find targets, Klopp was a manager who could work that way. Dortmund had a motif trying to stay profitable off every success where they could. Lewandowski the exception, because he wanted Bayern so badly he rejected every other major club, including UNited (25m) and Madrid (33m)

Liverpool on an absolute scale have more money than Dortmund, but the same relative issues come into play. They can't financially compete with either Manchester club, or Chelsea (technically they are also behind Arsenal, but Arsenal rarely flex any power); nor Bayern; Real and Barca; nor PSG.

Long term Liverpool want to, that's quite clear from the way they are trying to catch up in the commercial market.

You keep talking about coaching as if Klopp is the only one in the league who can improve players by coaching. 3 excellent ones just walked into the league, two who have proven to be world class.

You could spend £50m on one player, but it would have ramifications on the rest of your budget. That's kind of the point. and it's not like this stuff is hard to prove, financials come out every quarter, but you don't even need to read those to know Liverpool simply do not bring in enough money to compete with the Manchester clubs, so Liverpool cut their cloth accordingly. Which isn't even a critique of Liverpool.

Klopp had alternate targets, like most managers do. Klopp has been tracking some for years, like many managers do.

Just because he's pitched up at Liverpool in the last year, doesn't mean people know him any less than Liverpool fans, unless they have been living in a cave.

Never said it was competing with the elite. We know our limitations in that aspect. We know we are a good ways behind Utd financially through years of criminal mismanagement. But we also know if Klopp had those finances behind him to go drop £100 million or more on a player he more than likely wouldn't. It's NOT how he works.

You refuted his point that the money's not there and the manager isn't choosing to buy who he wants.

Mans if you don't see the major difference in Klopp trusting his coaching ability as opposed to Moutinho and Pep spending big and buying the experienced, ready made product I don't know what to tell you. Different approaches and each with merit to differing situations, ideas. But VASTLY different all the same.

Both coaches have trusted their coaching ability for years. Both have gone for young players, both have moulded and reimagined players too. Throwing out that they have have only ever bought experienced and ready made is nonsense. They are both very different and the same in they both cover all the bases, there is no single trick to them

Arguing they aren't that type of manager in the main is beyond nonsense.

But c'est la vie. We're more than happy with our lot and how it works and that's our only concern.

They arent though. They fill holes as they see fit, from the club or at the market or redesigning a player. Weird to argue they are any less coaches than Klopp.

Mourinho won the CL with a Porto side that had less money than Liverpool, and did the same with an Inter side that was needing rejuvination (incidentally Inter never actually made the changes that they should have to that side). They have both worked at elite level clubs, but they still coach, improve and fundamentally change players.

They do the best with the resources they are given. Mourinho did not have much at Porto and adapted accordingly. At United he does and he is maximising it. Klopp has never been in a position where he could work with true financial power like United have so its weird to claim he will always build from the bottom no matter what.

Believing the man's own words and actions. I can see how you'd find that 'weird.'

Just like aside from starting out at Porto to a lesser extent, Mourinho and Pep have walked straight into the perfect scenarios in dominant clubs at the time in respective Countries and not had to actually rely on their coaching abilities without the major backing is a 'weird' thing to apparently say.

Maybe we're just 'weird' period? BTW, that's three 'weird's' in one post. Any prizes for using the buzz word of the day 3 times?

You realise Mourinho managed Uniao de Leria who are not a power in any sense of the word and got them into third place ahead of Benfica and Porto before he left for the latter. Leria will have had a lot less money than Klopp's first team Mainz

But they have had to use their coaching. It's why they are known as two of the best coaches in our generation. It's why players laud their methods. Trying to rewrite history to change that to make Klopp seem better and unique is an utter fantasy. It's never been in doubt before, yet suddenly now?

Seriously? You're seriously adding with that? His first club.

What's amusing here is the article went up in here, for L'pool fans to discuss as there's been a lot of cry's about why we haven't signed any 'marque' players all over social media from reds.

And it's quickly degenerated into a 'my dicks bigger than your ****' club vs. club thing.

Got to love the Internet

Second club actually Benfica was first but after the election of a new president he resigned and only managed something like 9 games

While its normal for fans of clubs to exaggerate the qualities of their manager, it was getting a bit too much in regards to Klopp on these forums. Something which I pointed out a few weeks ago and now further evidence of that.

There is a reason why so many players want to work with Jose or Pep. They make players improve leaps and bounds under their coaching. Klopp does the same as well albeit to a lesser extent in my opinion.

Oh you're a trip Alcarez.

It's fine for you to say nobody can say Klopp wouldn't spend mega millions as he's never had it so there's no basis for that. Regardless of what he himself has to say on the subject.

But it's not fine to point out the converse of where one man continually does work, by his own choosing as much as any circumstance, with less ready players he likes to coach up at lesser clubs financially as opposed to the other two who have, in the main, picked perfect scenarios and bought ready made players. Which by virtue is a whole lot less of a test of their coaching abilities. But no slight on their managerial abilities.

You are a trip man.
